We're simply a hodge podge of a few different teams cobbled together. Even so, this team has a strong will to win ... they know how to close, which makes them border line elite even if they don't look very pretty yet.

@Bwag I think Vick has been treated wonderfully, in spite of his many transgressions, from attitude to assault. I'm glad he changed his attitude, because it has had a tremendous impact on his productivity.

We have 3 things that have to improve in order for us to be elite. Until they get fixed, it will be a roller coaster ride.
1- Doke's free throws.
2- Garrett shooting.
3- Quentin not involved.

As for Kansas ... why isn't it No. 1?
This is an oddity worth pointing out.
The Jayhawks were the preseason No. 1 team in the AP Top 25. They're still undefeated and have two wins over two top-10 teams on neutral courts. And yet, Kansas is no longer No. 1 and hasn't been since Nov. 11. First, Kansas was leapfrogged by Duke in the first week of the poll in the regular season. And this week, Gonzaga bumped past the Jayhawks because it beat ... Duke.
Kansas' biggest issue, it seems, is that it hasn't played the Blue Devils.
It's just a bit weird. I don't violently disagree with keeping Kansas at No. 2, but you'd expect a non-traditional school -- a team that seldom gets to No. 1 -- to be subject to this kind of treatment. The fact that Kansas is the school being held at No. 2 is curious. I don't want to get too conspiratorial, but I wonder if some AP voters have held the federal trial stuff against Kansas just a little bit and if that's played into KU being ever so slightly suppressed in the polls.

You know, Virginia has the roster of a Missourah Valley team. They are really unathletic. But, they play that system ball, choke that clock out, and play prevent defense with that pack line like a pack of wild dogs...nipping at their heels. They do stack up the wins, although they basically blow during the tournament. Their guys are like toothpicks.

I love the way you think, but I don't think anything will happen to Nike, ever. If anything, I think Nike schools will do way more in the future while the Adidas schools will get hammered over the slightest infraction. Zion Williams is literally playing on the court with $100 bills sticking out of his socks, and never a word is spoken. This is two kinds of justice : death penalty type punishment for non-Nike schools, total indifference to the most egregious acts done by Nike schools.

@JayHawkFanToo You make a real good point. Perry was flat nails, and Dedric is showing the same offensive dominance. Perry was a master of getting himself in position to make the shot, and as Dedric grows in our system, he will find those great shots as well. I think the best is yet to come.
@Kcmatt7 Dotson is the best freshman I've ever seen in acclimating to the game on the spot. Running the team like he's been there 4 years. He might be the most underrated 5 star recruit in history. This guy is doing things that Senior Frank did. He has the absolute perfect game for our team. Now, I'm sure WVU and Nova will try to speed him up, and get him out of rhythm, but I think he'll pass those tests with flying colors, like he has everything else. We aren't nearly as good of a team when DD isn't on the floor.
@wissox There has to be a name we can come up with to describe a Charlie drive to the basket bank shot. When it leaves his hands, it looks like he must be throwing the ball up in the sky, then it does it's little carom off the backboard, and the next thing you know, the ball is nudging its way in. He could be a rec league legend right now. "He's a bankshot wizard, there has to be a twist...that bankshot wizard got such a suppled wrist".

The soft label is now gone. That was a big boy win. It was grinding, and everything was tough, but we flat took that game away. So, game 1, we play like dog crap the first half, but then we go on an truly elite 22-0 run to start the 2nd half. Game 2, we play in a WWE steel cage match event, and go 15 rounds, before putting away a Top 5 team. We won a toughness contest against a tough team. Elite mentality. They can talk about Dook and the Zags all they want- we've got something special cooking here.
