Rick Barnes. I like our chances.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 24, 2018 01:51 AM

@Gorilla72 I want him to come back and work with our bigs.

The Vols are the real deal. The line is tight with the good guys installed as a 3.5 point favorite. One of the elements of this team we are discovering is we have multiple guys that can take over games ( Malik carried us, with help from Devonte, and Doke at times), so I'm going out on a limb by saying that Q has his best game, and we win by 7.

Bill Self Playing Favorites • Nov 23, 2018 10:42 PM

@mayjay Exactly. Good post. Here's my take on the whole can of worms: They take grimes out for 5+minutes, and Jayhawk World immediately goes off their rocker. Now we're supposed to believe that Marcus Garrett is now Jamari Traylor because MG got an extra 5 minutes? Huh? Marcus is a work in progress, but many of his elements he brings to the table help us win. Playing Jamari at times so much was frustrating at times when we had more talented people on the bench.Hopefully, Grimes will come to play and get his extra 5 minutes back by coming to play, and guard his man. Many of you on here are etched in stone that MG will never shoot well, and maybe you're right. But if any of you think for a second that MG now has a lock on a position as a starter over Grimes, I would kindly ask that you stay away from all sharp objects, and check yourself in immediately to a mental health care facility. Because that's way over the top. All Marcus has done is give us everything he has every game, he plays lock down defense, he hustles every play, he never complains, and his woeful shot did get in the net a few times. Shame on you people comparing him to Jamari in an insulting way. They're not all going to be stars.

@Kcmatt7 been there...done that...got the t-shirt...

Other Games Tonight • Nov 23, 2018 08:20 PM

@Kcmatt7 nevada won. 96-86.

@wissox Remember, he had selected tucky as his pre season number 1, and had us 2nd, even though their own poll with coaches had us at number 1 by a wide margin. I wouldn't call him a KU hater...more like a KU DENIER.

@wissox PHOF!

@wissox He's a tool. They have Dook on such a high pedestal, they overrank whoever beats them.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 23, 2018 02:09 AM

Texas is beating the Tarholes. 7 minutes left...UT by 6.

Bill Self Playing Favorites • Nov 22, 2018 05:01 PM

@Bosthawk Really good post. Quinerly got cleanup minutes in Nova's most recent games. Bolden languished on the bench for two years at Dook. I'm not worried about Grimes. This is a teaching moment, imo. It might be a Oubre style playing time model- or it might be that Grimes gets 30+ minutes next game. He has the ability, and I think it's up to him how much he plays. Once the lightbulb finally goes off, he will be tremendous. i would say that Dotson is light years ahead of what people thought he would be, and Grimes has been less than what we thought he would be ...so far.

@BShark I think you're taking Grimes not playing harder than Grimes did.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 22, 2018 04:16 AM

@BShark I saw a glimpse of an elite team today. I saw a pulse. 22-0 run was epic, just completely took away the game from Marquette. Flattened them. That was a run from an elite team. Now, let's do this an entire game.

And just like that, we looked like a ranked team.

@approxinfinity Rumors of our demise are greatly exaggerated.

Grimes has not played this half.

BShark??? Are you there? Buehler....Buehler? Maybe Coach used your prediction to motivate them...LOL.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 22, 2018 12:30 AM

They're now pimping Gonzaga to be ahead of us next week. If we win out this week, and they don't rank us number 1 with a win over Marquette and Tennessee, then's there's no point in following the poll.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 22, 2018 12:27 AM

The Clones look better than expected, same with OU without the ball hog. Tech has had a nice start, and Silo Tech is winning. TCU lost to a nobody last night.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 21, 2018 11:42 PM

Dook tears ... ESPN will go into mourning.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 21, 2018 10:38 PM

@KirkIsMyHinrich OMG, I love watching them play. So smart...so much better team than Dook. They play as a team, and they play smart.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 21, 2018 10:37 PM

@Gorilla72 They are attacking the crap out of the basket.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 21, 2018 10:35 PM

Rat better get a T.O., baby. Dook is going down.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 21, 2018 06:58 PM

@JayHawkFanToo They really handled them the 2nd half. That makes Tech 5-0.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 21, 2018 03:55 PM

@kjayhawks Auburn doesn't drive the lane. From what I saw, I didn't see any swallowed whistles. I only watched the last 10 minutes, though. Auburn plays outside the perimeter.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 21, 2018 03:10 PM

Texas Tech takes the well regarded Cornshuckers to the woodshed, winning by 18.

@HighEliteMajor Vermont is not better than Marquette. Not even close. Marquette is ranked 35th on KenPom, and Vermont is ranked 124th.

@BShark He blows me away. And he can shoot.

New 2019 Recruiting • Nov 21, 2018 12:33 AM

This is the year the Squid loses favor at Tucky. Those preseason number 1 rankings have the Blue Herd in a frothing frenzy after Dook. Wiseman reminds us that he's starting to miss out on players that used to be a cinch. He's losing a step, and his teams look pretty mediocre. The Herd won't stand for another bad season.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 20, 2018 07:28 PM

@JayHawkFanToo You haven't dissuaded me into not remembering how excited everyone was when Larry was hired. Which was my point. What Larry did after he was hired is completely irrelevant to the point I was making. Whether you love Larry, or hate Larry, he changed our entire program in 5 years that has lasted 35+ years. No doubt, it is much easier to look back 35 years, and conclude we could've hired this guy or that guy, and not had the baggage that Larry carried around. But that is not what happened. Whether you like it or not, Larry saved our program. Our basketball team was in worse shape than the current football team, based on expectations, when Larry came aboard. No doubt, our 1 year of probation in the last 36 years represents a stain. But to wipe Larry out of our history, and pretend he didn't have a tremendous positive impact in ways that still help our program even today, is a re-write of history I'm not willing to make.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 20, 2018 07:08 PM

@justanotherfan I think Miles is better suited as a builder, like he was at OSU, than a sustainer, like he was at LSU. He used to punk OU, and got the Okie state believing in OSU football again . He'll be a natural underdog, and love every second of it. At LSU, you lose 3 games in a year, and your job is on the line. Here, if all he loses is 3 games, he'll be a hero. At first I thought he might rebuild us, and then take off. But the more I look at the situation, he might just thrive here, and not want to leave. No pressure, and he gets to be the hero again. This is a generational hire, which should turn the entire program around.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 20, 2018 06:50 PM

@JayHawkFanToo I don't think you read my post- you just saw the name Larry Brown, and started swinging. My point was the excitement generated by a new coaching hire rivals when Larry was hired. I assume you would set aside your Brown bashing to simply acknowledge that KU fans were very excited when Larry Brown was hired as coach.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 20, 2018 02:43 PM

@approxinfinity When Larry Brown was named coach, we almost couldn't believe it. To go from Ted Owens to Larry was almost unreal, almost like going from David Beaty to Les Miles.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 20, 2018 02:22 PM

Miles is the poster child for rebuilds. He will make an immediate impact, like a tidal wave. He's at his best when he's fixing broken toys. This reminds me of the Larry Brown hire. Tidal wave.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 11:03 PM

@DoubleDD I'm excited for KU football again. It's the first time in many years.

@BShark We'll win. I said we have a long way to go- i didn't say we'd lose to the cheese dicks.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 04:03 PM

BADBALL ...FOR FOOTBALL...'THE EARL CAMPBELL SPECIAL...3 YARDS AND A CLOUD OF DUST"

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 03:57 PM

@justanotherfan Pooka to the left ...Pooka to the right...Pooka's backup to the left...Pooka's backup to the right... the point was we're going to run the ball a ton.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 03:00 PM

@FarmerJayhawk That's the only way to do it. Pooka to the left...Pooka to the right ... shorten the game. Do the football version of the 4 corners. It might be a little ugly, but the wins will be really nice.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 19, 2018 02:39 AM

@StLJhawk He'll be back. I miss his posts.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 12:59 AM

Les is above criticism now. It wouldn't surprise me if they announced Hugh Freeze in the next few days.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 12:09 AM

@BShark It wouldn't surprise me if Alabama turned them in.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 12:07 AM

@jayballer73 Freeze was head coach at Miss when they went to the Top 5 in rankings and recruiting, and then got hammered by the NCAA for recruiting violations. Freeze was let go. He did have a big year or two, until he got caught.
