@BShark Hugh Freeze as off coordinator - we'll have the whole Dixie Mafia on board before you can say "Pooka to the left ...Pooka to the right ...". No doubt Freeze would be a remarkable play caller- is he going to be our recruiting coordinator? Not sure that would end well. We could full monte on it, turn overnite into a football machine, have a Top 5 recruiting class, then take our ncaa penalties, lay low for a year or two, and then gear it up back again.
@BShark Pooka left ....Pooka right....
@BShark Get that man a pen and a contract quick. We don't want him changing his mind...
This pretty much summarizes the hire. Good stuff:

They're going to go from 0-60 in 4 seconds. They'll hire a bushel of talent, and we'll see recruiting like we've never seen. They'll be playing for championships in 4 years.
@BShark You're overestimating both parties intelligence. If he starts winning at KU, and LSU starts losing, all bets are off. Those Cajuns are bugshit crazy about their football. Les had the best record in the SEC from 2005-2015, won a national championship, and several big time years. And they fired him for going 2-2. Those fans would hire Charles Manson if they thought he could win them football games, and their utter guile would compel them to come back after Les, with no sense of irony. It's a lethal combination of Bugtussle, Friday Night Lights, Big Oil and Gas money, and shrimp ettouffee.
Les Miles. To KU. To KU. Excuse me, I'm going to have to take a moment to let thought unwrap in my brain. I say he makes 4 bowl games in 5 years, and then wants to go back to LSU, where he gets fired after his 3rd game.
@jayballer73 I'm seeing some glimpses of 2013. this isn't a great defensive team so far, and it is certainly not a great offensive team. They can't score on the break, and they aren't defending the perimeter. Beyond Vick and Doke, we aren't creating anything on the offensive end. We have two freshmen thinking instead of just playing. We have an All American candidate who seems to have alot of talent, but seems to be in his head on the court, and not playing free. if we play as badly on the perimeter against Marquette as we did against LA, we'll get pummeled. There are some serious growing pains coming, because I don't see a real closer on this team. I see talented guys trying to do what their coach wants, but I don't see ownership. Devon and Grimes are real talented, but until they grasp mastery on the court, and settle for no less, we're going to be walking a real tight rope. And it's not like Charlie is rallying the troops- he's finding his way through, too. We could easily be 3-2 by this time next week unless our level of play vastly improves. This might be a team that doesn't start playing well until the very end of the season.
i wish that some of you hadn't pissed off a certain conspiracy theorist ( ShoeCo). He would've written a novel about Dedric being under MK Ultra mind control, which is why he donked out of his last two games.
@Crimsonorblue22 He's an odd fellow. That's why I like him.
@BShark What's up with the poofy hat? Are you a pirate?
The Ferman Vermin take down Nova. Ferman rules...
@BShark No doubt it was a poor effort. That game made everyone except Vick and Doke look soft. We're miles and miles away from being a good team. I didn't see very much mental toughness- you've got 2 playing their heart out, and the rest look tentative, unsettled and mediocre. Lightweights. Pretenders. They have a long way to go before they live up to their ranking.
@BShark you're on tilt. Calm down. We got this...
we're playing with our food.
The Lawson . on your butt.

@JayHawkFanToo May be a bit too early to really compare conferences. ACC has 5 losses total among 15 teams - only 2 of those probably rate as "bad" losses. B12 has 3 losses among its 10 teams, and all are bad losses. Very few quality wins by either conference. B12 has quality wins over MSU and... maybe Arkansas? ACC has wins over Kentucky and Florida and... maybe Stanford? Several big non-conference match-ups over the holidays that may provide a better gauge of relative strength. The problem for the B12, which has too often been the case, is not enough of our schools schedule many games against the Power 5 schools. KU has a tough schedule - really no cupcakes - and, probably to Kruger's regret, OU has a killer schedule. Some of the B12's ostensibly better teams don't play anyone of note until conference games start.
Ostensibly ... word up.
Director of Basketball Operations. Welcome back, Danny...
@BShark We're going to 4 out next year.
@wissox That bridge goes on forever. Over 20 miles long, right?
@wrwlumpy I was just thinking the other day I was craving a mess of mudbugs. They are so good...when you eat them, you have to wash your face because the spice burns your face.
Indiana burying Marquette....
cmon Michigan...get it back to 30..
@BShark They look fantastic. Amazing they are only ranked 18th.
@BShark Just blown away by that kid. Contrast that with Cliff's attitude. You know him better than me...any chance he could play pg?
@approxinfinity It might be this year's theme to have new scoring leader in almost every game. That is why we're going to be so tough to beat - we have multiple ways to beat you.
@approxinfinity I noticed in our half court sets, we never had good ball movement the whole game. The ball stuck on one side of the court ( the side Doke was on ), so Grimes and Dedric were pretty much stuck on the other side. They went from 32 shots combined against Sparty to a combined 14 shots against Vermont. I'm sure Dedric pouted. I think Coach's goal was to get Doke going, make him play over 30 minutes, and have him punish a smaller team. I think we'll see Dedric and Grimes both come out, and have big games against Louisiana. I don't fault Dedric for being sullen- he's probably harder on himself than anyone else. It takes time to learn to control your emotions, and he's still learning. If the ultimate pouter ( Vick ) can overcome it, so can Dedric.
@BShark $$$.
@BShark 1- Deference to their experience. 2- Wanted to see Doke play more minutes. 3- Played Mitch over
Dave because he wanted to show what not to do when confronted with a head fake.
@stoptheflop i thought the game was perfect for us. A tough mid-major with years of experience throws us for a loop, which we had to overcome. They were a fundamentally sound pesky team that defended really well, imo. Games like this help us to get better because it exposes what needs to be improved. If we had won by 60, we might not've learned much.
@jayballer73 I was very glad that Dedric had such a lousy game. I would rather his bad game came in the 2nd game of the year, and not in the Elite 8 game. Now we have a whole season to work to ensure it doesn't happen again. I think alot of his struggles had to do with our game plan.
@Woodrow He goes into Doke in order to spread the floor.
We beat the Peskies...
We've got these pesky little cats where we want them... now finish them off!
@justanotherfan And he posted up the other night against Sparty, and made the shot. I also think his 3 ball game could be a nice weapon next year, along with KJ shooting the 3.
It's fine with me. They were still going to talk about Dook regardless.
@BeddieKU23 I keep saying they are going to be tough. Our perimeter defense better be ready.
Vegas has installed us as 18.5 point favorites.
@approxinfinity He's been a good daily fantasy player for me. His salary was nothing for weeks, and he regularly hit 5,6, 7 times value. Now that the cats out of the bag, his salary is up, and his numbers are down.
@BShark They lead by 18 at halftime, and LOSE. I'm putting them last in the B12.
If we beat them, do we get a teddy bear?
@approxinfinity I hope he works on that shot more than the 3 ball. Part of me wants us to not get a big name OAD at the 4 because I'd love to see Lightfoot and KJ split that spot. Both bring different skills to the table- Lightfoot's blocking ability, along with his tenaciousness combined with KJ's driving, passing, shooting, and rebounding skills would be quite formidable, imo.
@BShark LMAO...
I really liked that baby hook shot Mitch had in the game. He posted up, and got nothing but net. That is progress. I went back and watched the game again, and noticed a few things...as great as Dotson looked, he did have several drives to nowhere. Typical for our speedy guards learning the system. Not as bad as Tyshawn, and better than young Frank, he'll tighten that up as he gets more comfortable. In 10 minutes, KJ had 6 boards...these Lawsons can really rebound. Vick had a pretty poor offensive game, and looked like he was not playing with a free mind. He did make a couple nice defensive plays, though. Q is a badass, with NBA range. He might challenge our 1 year record for 3s in a season. Remember when we were worrying about no 3 point shooting?
@JayHawkFanToo It was right there for me...I go with WCS to save salary, and shoulda went with Embiid. I was even watching the game against MSU again as I was setting my FanDuel lineups, and Joel was right there, plain as day...sick.
Southern Illinois lost this game after their center fouled out. Then Tucky just murdered them inside. While their center was still on the floor, it was anybody's game. To me, they look like a first weekend exit type team. Completely over rated.
Looks like Tucky will survive, but they have been exposed.
