@drgnslayr We will be fine in March, especially, if we can get Tulsa/KC combination. Fans, media, and refs against us, but that's okay. We are still Kansas and our court says Naismith!

@truehawk93 Three horrible calls against Devonte Graham in the Villanova game really hurt us and stopped us from going on runs. Refs controlled the tempo of the game, which is a shame.

@BeddieKU23 This season is barely halfway over. I am enjoying it. We have no idea, with the exception of Seniors and more than likely Josh Jackson, as to which players are staying or going. We just don't know. Coach Self probably doesn't know either. I don't get the concern? I do understand the potential of what your saying. I am more of a we will cross that bridge when we get to it kind of person. Concern about things that may or may not happen is not going to change anything. As I said before, Coach Self always has a way of making these things work out. I am staying relaxed. Coach has it under control. He always does. If Devonte and Svi leave, then I will be cheering for them at the next level. Should they stay, it will be one heck of a Senior Night next year. The only thing I know for sure is that I get to watch them this year and I will spend my time enjoying that, versus being concerned about next year. Baylor and Virginia are always tough, but then again so are we.

When did we ever have a down year in the Bill Self era? I can't think of one. A down year in my opinion would be a team in jeopardy of missing the tournament or not making it at all. We have never come close. Coach Self handles the recruiting great! I don't know how he does it. Even when things don't go great, he makes it work. We are missing to key contributors, yet here we are with 20 wins again. I never worry about our coach and recruiting. Wins against UK and Baylor are great for recruiting. Let's go Jayhawks!!!

I prefer to talk about the players that are currently active. We beat Duke an Kentucky in the same season. I am enjoying that fact.

With Cliff we were on the verge of seeing what he could do and then his family situation happened. Dialogue, had he stayed a year, he more than likely would have developed into a solid lottery pick. Bragg, maybe needed to pump his brakes on departing early and work on having an all around game. So, I don't see where Coach Self failed?

@Hawk8086 Thanks. Every team has weaknesses. Hopefully, it all comes together for us before tournament time. We let that game get away from us. We didn't play too bad. It was a close game to the end. I think we struggled on 50-50 balls more than anything. Yes we allowed some layups, but the way the game was being called, it was either give up the bucket or get a fouled called against us. It is a real no-win situation sometimes. I think we win the rematch and of course they still have to come to our place. I like our situation.

That game is over. It's time to get ready for the next one. We lost the game. Four times in a row at WVU. Okay? Now what? 2 losses in 20 games. I will take it. First place in a very good Big XII. I will take it. We have more to be thankful for than to complain about. I know our team is busting their butt in practice and in games trying to get better and trying to win. Plenty of season left. Enjoy every win and try to get over losses as soon as possible. That's my advice.

The flow of this thread leads me to believe that we are at best a 10-9 team masquerading with a 18-1 record. So, what is our "true record" based on all these things that we need improvement on? My opinion is we do a heck of a lot more right than we do wrong, and I am enjoying this season and Senior Night is going to be bittersweet. I miss Frank and Landon already. A few more may leave early, so I spend my time enjoying the process of these young men developing into something real special. 18-1 seems pretty good to me at this point, especially after losing the big fella. Imagine how much better he could have gotten. Finally, no one has defeated us in regulation or in the continental United States at this point.

Imagine putting all of your time and efforts during the day and spending many sleepless nights trying to put together a team. Then getting that team to come together and have some chemistry through practices. Next, make sure that they are all eligible to play and stay eligible to play in spite of family members and hangers on. Then play through a grueling season taking on all comers while playing home and home in the Big XII where every road game is the opponents biggest game of the year. On top of that, play in the XII Tournament knowing that a loss means instantaneous mention on every sports channel bottom line ticker. Not to mention earning a high seed for the NCAA Tournament. After all that, play in the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament with the entire basketball world is waiting for your team to fall flat so they can "ha ha Kansas lost" for the rest of the tournament. Well that is the life of Bill Self. I don't know how he does it? Hell yeah he should be nervous! All that hard work and it has to feel awful when they don't win the whole thing. I for one could not do it. I am amazed by Coach Self's many accomplishments. 12 Conference Championships in a row. Top 3 seeds in the tournament year after year. He has earned the right to be a little uptight. Wouldn't you?
