It’s a joke we’re not in the bonus

And somehow WVU fans were still mad it was called.
How the Big 12 coaches haven’t complained enough to get refs to ruin Huggys “they can’t call everything” strategy is beyond me.

Grimes shot is too flat
30 feet away from his range too
I firmly believe he is only a few degrees off of his release from being an elite shooter.
The rules of basketball change in this building
Grimes shot is too flat
Doke would have shit all over this WVU team. Big Dave making a difference
@Hawk8086 a foul in any other game against any other team in any other building
No fouls starting early.

We will prolly be their 2 seed. They wouldn't dare put Tennessee, Michigan or Gonzaga in their path. Of course Virginia wont be in their way either
Probably in Anaheim so they can add a bunch of shitty west coast teams
fun Game
As it should be
Should be intentional

Always factor in that the Tourney makes 95% of the NCAAs revenue. A tourney without Zion is not good for business.
Imagine if they lose in the first round or opening weekend. lol
Oh I’m sure someone is cooking up a way to get Duke a new PG midsesason lol. A college player with 2M Instagram followers is cash money. Duke will get an absurd path this season imo. Of all the years for bias, this is the one.

At least happ knows his bread and butter. Always loved his skill in the lane. Dedric and him are very similar
Was thinking the same thing.
Happ is so coordinated and athletic it shocks me he hasn’t been able to add the 3 to his game.

@Kcmatt7 Funner for a neutral fan I'm sure. It has been very nip and tuck all the way.
I just love the intensity. Feels like a tournament game.

@Kcmatt7 Worse players have went pro. I hope he stays though, and his family situation is pretty good. I really don't want to see next year's team w/o Dotson. I think he is the most crucial of players that would go either way.
I’m worried he gets a 1st round guarantee by a late round team. But I just don’t see him as an immediate impact player for an NBA team so my guess is he won’t get one. Definitely the most important player for next season though.

Getting my yelling at the refs voice warmed up right now by watching the Badger game.
Most fun Wisconsin game I’ve watched in a long time though lol.
All of our guys are slightly flawed for the NBA. Which is good for us lol. Next years returning team could be stacked. Of course, I thought the same thing this season... we are good but not near as good as I had projected.
Dotson isn’t ready until he starts passing better. His shooting form is also very long and starts very low. He is also not a dominant defender. I wouldn’t project him to succeed in the NBA yet. Will have to improve all over before he gets an honest look.
Hope self wears the pullover again
5 point favorites. We win by 15 if we take care of the ball.
@BeddieKU23 i don’t blame him at all. He’s just significantly better than Charlie and plays tough. Better driving the ball than I thought he’d be.
Thomas Allen would have gotten minutes for KU this season. Disappointed we didn’t get him.
It is 100% worth it for baseball players to take steroids. Pump the entire team full and just concede this season.
@DoubleDD would cost more to cut him than keep him right now due to his contract. If he makes a big play on Sunday and we make the Super Bowl, worth every penny.
However it is probably time to draft a potential future replacement.
I’m plenty ok with it turning into free agency. It should be whatever the players decide, in my opinion.
Would Baker Mayfield or Kyker Murray be potential NFL players without it?
Would Dedric get the same look had he continued on a bad Memphis team instead of proving he can do the same thing at a P5 level?
These guys are all elite athletes and nobody goes to sit the bench. It should be fun. Playing is what makes it fun. Some guys that transfer get an opportunity to prove they truly are elite. Not every system fits. Not every coach fits.
If it is truly about the students than they should be able to what is in their best interest with no reurcussuons. That’s just how I feel, I get others viewpoints on it though.
Just like previous Virginia teams, this Tech team just doesn't score the ball well enough to to be a true contender. Only they are maybe worse offensively than any Tony Bennett team. And some nights, you just can't play good enough defense to overcompensate. They got off 6 more field goals than ISU and still lost. That's how bad their offense was. At home.

I hadn't considered paying for The Athletic until that article but it makes it tempting now. Content like that is hard to find
CJ is a really good writer. He covers KSU and Missouri for them as well.
Writers need to make money as it is their job, and the digital pennies ad model just doesn't really cut it.
Not when basically anyone can start a blog themselves and SB Nation is able to essentially get free amateur writers to provide enough content to populate a site.
The athletic seems to be the next big thing for sports. Like what ESPN used to do before the mega cable contracts fiasco, layoffs, and turning into a garbage cable channel focused on only the coasts. I would not be shocked to see the Athletic start providing radio content on satellite and tv content on streaming devices in the future.
That’s the quality of content you get from the Athletic, if you were wondering... worth the very cheap sub
My point is simply that this is not meant to be the AP top 25. It actually falls somewhere in between the Massey and Kenp rankings if you compare it to that. Much closer than the RPI rankings. Both of which has Nebraska and Purdue high as well.
It is replacing only the RPI. Compare it to the RPI only and I think you see improvement. Instead of taking a bias against the NCAA just because, point out it’s flaws compared to the RPI. Is it better or worse? If better is the answer, than that’s an improvement and should be applauded instead of criticized. At least, that’s how I see it. We will see in 10 weeks though I guess.
@Bwag well technically as far as putting a win or loss in a quadrant, yes, they are equivalent.
@KirkIsMyHinrich I like that he looks like he is playing way above the rim this season. Like throwing it down. Better athlete than advertised.
What we had been saying was a possibility. His brother got to 6'9 so it was never a ridiculous statement. Would love to have him and Ochai both turn into studs. Homegrown guys tearing it up. Would be nice.
Love how butt hurt everyone over there still is about JRE lol.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Fully agree with you. Definitely has flaws. I'm just trying to show that it isn't any bit of a downgrade from what it replaced. Maybe it was a waste of time because it is pretty close to the same dang thing, but it isn't like SO atrocious that I can't believe they are using it.
@kjayhawks What is unimpressive about it so far?
Side by side:
!0_1547668706280_Top 50 comparison.JPG ↗
Looks more accurate than the RPI through the top 50 to me. But, I'd love to hear why you disagree.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I think you have Doke and Dedric backwards, personally.
It makes sense to me for Doke to stay here and get a degree and rehab. He's so young that his stock will basically remain unchanged and he has a backup plan in case of injury.
Dedric on the other hand, has proven what he can do and will have 4 years of school and a degree under his belt after this season. Might as well just go pro. How does staying benefit Dedric?
I think we see the staff turn the heat up on Enaruna in the Spring. Sherfield is available again as of yesterday. Seems like an easy take at this point. I expect recruiting to heat up here over the next month.
@bmensch1 I would not be shocked to see Moore and/or KJ defect. In theory, KJ could grad transfer after this season to a place he'll actually get some PT. It''s his 4th year in college this season. So I sort of expect him and Self to have a conversation at year's end and come to a mutual decision to part ways. I don't know Moore's options, but I'd say his time at KU is likely over after the season as well. He's no better than a 100+ ranked freshman PG. Probably worse.
So I sort of expect us to have three scholarships to fill.
@kjayhawks it is replacing the rpi. Not seeding teams. Just keep that in mind.
Where would Kentucky be without Hagans reclassing?
Playing through KC seems a lot less likely than I had thought to start the season.

Old news now but Dook drops one to Syracuse at Cameron while being 17 point favorites. I just watched the highlights and the refs tried their damndest to give it Dook. They were down one in the closing seconds and Zion got a foul call with absolutely zero contact. No one ever mention it again because its Dook but wow.
I watch the whole game, wasn’t poorly officiated imo.
Duke wins that game going away if Jones didn’t get hurt or Reddish isn’t sick. With both, might have won by 20. But you play the cards you’re dealt. Still goes down as a loss
It did show how lacking Dukes depth was. But it also showed how good Zion and RJ are that they can damn near win a game 2 on 5
Well poor rebounding, lazy defense, awful communication, bad rotations and atrocious free throw shooting turns an easy double digit win into a game where we squeak one out. At least we can say we won despite how truly terribly we played at times.
@dylans well it’s much easier now that basketball reference has started keeping up with euro ball. It used to be you had to go to some site that needed to be google translated lol.

@bmensch1 Langford, still pouring them in!
11 points in only 20 minutes! Looks like reduced minutes a good thing for him too. Much more efficient this season than last.

@Kcmatt7 Fred he'd rather be coaching college in an ESPN article a few weeks back.
Same article said his preference was to stay in the NBA.
"Wojnarowski added that Hoiberg would prefer to remain in the NBA as a coach."
I do think KU would be one job he'd consider leaving the NBA for, but most signs point to him being the Timberwolves next HC.
