FBI...here we go • Nov 19, 2018 04:07 PM

I'm going to guess that Adidas just settles this out of court. They have a lot more at stake than the $2M they'll end up paying him. Not even worth the risk from what could come out even during a motion to dismiss. Pay him and move on.

Berry • Nov 19, 2018 03:28 PM

Word is he'll start practicing again after the bye week. Probably plays in 3 weeks.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 03:26 PM

There will be games where Pooka needs the ball 25 times and we control the tempo.

That was Beaty's problem. He wanted to go up tempo and try to be a "Big XII Offense" instead of bleeding the clock and giving us the best chance at a win. I don't think Les will have that issue.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 02:24 PM

@wissox I'd think it will at least make the Late Night official visits more fun because in the past they have taken the recruits to the football game the next day.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 01:34 PM

@stoptheflop I'd bet that we go mobile QB and ball control starting next season. I expect either a JUCO QB to come in and start or him to zero in on LeGendre and try to sway him back to KU as a day 1 starter.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 12:44 PM

@kjayhawks time for Bowen to go. It would send a weird message to the players to keep him on (especially a demotion). Really I feel the same way with everyone except Hull. (Which it seems like he's already staying considering he was still out recruiting even after Beaty got canned). I mean, if we are being honest, it seems like the only guy on Beaty's staff who can recruit at the level Miles will be wanting is Hull.

What I am hoping is that Miles knows 3 or 4 or 10 Hulls. Miles recruited his ass off at LSU. I expect to see recruiting to KU better than we ever could have imagined.

MILES IS NEW COACH • Nov 19, 2018 03:51 AM

All I care about with a new staff is that Bowen isn’t on it.

KU Is Not Even A Top 25 Team • Nov 19, 2018 03:43 AM

Defense needs to get better. Rotations have been slow. Part of that is starting two freshman. It’ll slowly get cleaned up and by EOY they’ll be much better.

KU getting involved.

@BeddieKU23 was it you that brought up this kid before?

Short and lacking explosion. But he has touch around the rim and we have had worse.

The Next Coach • Nov 16, 2018 11:17 PM

I’m still shocked. Long was clearly a home run hire. This Girod dude might be ok himself.

The Next Coach • Nov 16, 2018 07:12 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Definitely a reasonable assumption

The Next Coach • Nov 16, 2018 05:38 PM

Halftime of the Basketball Game would be one hell of a way to introduce Miles...

The Next Coach • Nov 16, 2018 04:11 PM

The Mike Vernon twitter rampage about Les Miles is just amazing right now.

Berry • Nov 16, 2018 11:29 AM

No point in playing Berry yet. Chargers game is the most important game left on the schedule.

I avoided betting on this game today because I just don't know that WVU can score.

@BShark Lol fiar enough

The Next Coach • Nov 16, 2018 12:47 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 He just agreed to a buyout. Looks like it's done.

I think we lucked out not landing Chukwu for Syracuse

Iirc KU passed.

Word is we actually asked him to walk-on. We were full on scholarships at the time. But Syracuse as a starter vs KU as a backup walk-on, it was an easy decision.

Edit: I have it on VERY good authority that's how it went down.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 16, 2018 12:05 AM

I think we lucked out not landing Chukwu for Syracuse

New 2019 Recruiting • Nov 15, 2018 11:40 PM

Someone always works out. Someone will "reopen" their recruitment if KU has a starting spot available.

The Next Coach • Nov 15, 2018 08:27 PM

@BShark Yea that I could handle.

The Next Coach • Nov 15, 2018 08:19 PM

I would be less than thrilled with that hire I think.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 15, 2018 07:03 PM

@JayHawkFanToo at the time I liked the extension for them. He was recruiting well and everything seemed on the rise for the program. But it does appear that Danny really did luck into his run with Tulsa and that he isn’t much of a HC.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 15, 2018 06:33 PM

@Woodrow I wouldn't think very long, but they also extended him out for a good chunk of change.. So who knows.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 15, 2018 01:43 PM

Nova looks like a 2 man team. And Booth really isn't able to create his own shot well enough to carry them, imo. Their PG play is atrocious too though. They look like an early exit this season.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 15, 2018 12:49 PM

@BeddieKU23 If you watched that game, guy is an animal. Hope he goes pro after this season.

Michigan looks like a top 5 team. Can play solid defense, have good guard play, and can shoot 1-5.

More ESPN Love For Mahomes • Nov 14, 2018 10:19 PM

feels dirty. Probably will end up being a Nike athlete too.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 14, 2018 10:01 PM

I like Marquette straight up over Indiana. Indiana returns a worse team than Marquette, only Romeo is the difference. I don't think he's enough.

I think Duke covers the massive 26 point spread.

I think UK does not cover the massive 26 point spread.

I think Florida Covers and Nebraska Covers.

I like Michigan to cover and I like Michigan and Villanova to be under the 138 O/U.

I like Houston to cover the 24 point spread against Rice.

I like Boston College to cover.

I don't like MSU to cover.

I like Arizona to cover against a truly awful UTEP team.

Notre Dame probably covers 12 on Radford.

Wyoming probably covers 13 on Grambling. Both truly awful teams though.

I like Saint Marys to beat NMSU, but it should be a good one.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 14, 2018 05:26 PM

I'll take Marquette over Indiana tonight.

Vick Appreciation Thread • Nov 14, 2018 03:22 PM

Looks like Dedric goes for 30 on Friday. That's how this season's been going. Everyone on here bashes Doke, he dominates the next game. Vick gets bashed, puts up 30.

A surprising amount of 1 game overreactions from this board...

The Next Coach • Nov 13, 2018 08:40 PM

If I were Les Miles, I'd wait to see what all comes open first anyways. That Purdue gig could be nice now that Brohm did all of the hard work. I wouldn't rule out a return to OSU. Gundy's days may be numbered. The OU job could be open (not that he'd get it), etc.

There will be a lot of better jobs open up. It will take a financial commitment and a long contract to get Miles here. It's only smart for him to see what else could be out there for him.

Vick Appreciation Thread • Nov 13, 2018 04:08 PM

It was hawt.

Vermont Post Mortem • Nov 13, 2018 04:04 PM

Game was a great test. I didn't mind our defense. Our offense was stale but effective. I don't mind deferring to Doke early on in the season, but I do think Grimes and Dotson will need to start attacking more for this offense to really blossom.

Bill Self Just Played a McDAA • Nov 13, 2018 04:01 PM

I like what Self did. The big lineup struggled against a team that could spread the floor. He (correctly) adjusted to a small lineup and we destroyed them from that point forward. Garrett has to get better offensively, but his ability to play the 4 is important.

Looks like Tucky will survive, but they have been exposed.

44-18 rebounding advantage gave them this game basically. Which is earned don't get me wrong. But UK suuuucks and they won't outrebound many P5 teams like this.

No guard play

Other Games Tonight • Nov 10, 2018 01:36 AM

KU would beat this SIU team like a drum

Other Games Tonight • Nov 10, 2018 01:19 AM

uk sucks

The Next Coach • Nov 09, 2018 10:20 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Not the one I saw today. I'm still looking, I'll find it again at some point. But after a 4-4 start and a bad loss to a bad ODU team, fans aren't happy. They aren't happy with the offense and the defense has been truly terrible in some games.

There still aren't the numbers to support an impeachment so its kind of a moot point. Nothing short of a phone call with a Russian asking them for help is likely going to cut it. And at that, half of the Trump supporters still wouldn't care. Which would mean there probably still wouldn't be enough Republican's to even impeach because as long as their supporters aren't pissed they're fine.

At this point, for him to be impeached, it would take him getting elected in 2020 and somehow and overwhelming Democratic win everywhere else AND another event larger than this one.

I'm not saying what he did was wrong. Not even saying it isn't impeachable. Just not likely to be what gets him impeached. And, by really pushing for it with something like this, if something new were to come out that was even more serious than it just starts to have the "crying wolf" ring to it. It makes Democrats seem like sore losers (which they kind of are being).

The Next Coach • Nov 09, 2018 09:13 PM

I'm looking, but I can't find it again. If I come across the link again I'll shoot it to you. I doubt he gets fired regardless, but it would immediately have become my #1 choice.

I know Les is probably the guy, but I'm going to keep my ears and eyes open until there is some pen to paper.

Agreed. At this point it isn't changing anyone's opinion of the guy. My parents who have made every Monica Lewinsky joke in the book were like "That's between him and Melania. It's not my place to judge." Lol. It's best to just let it go at this point. You aren't getting him out of office for this. And truth be told, Hilary probably broke a few Campaign laws as well by essentially taking over the DNC and getting an unfair advantage herself. It's just not something worth pursuing at this point.

The Next Coach • Nov 09, 2018 09:02 PM

Some Smoke coming out about Justin Fuente... I doubt the trigger gets pulled but I'd love the hire.

KU vs Vermont • Nov 09, 2018 07:25 PM

I'm up for as many tough games as possible. I hope Vermont comes out and hits us with a haymaker to start the game and we have to do some fighting. I want to get the Frosh prepped early.

I think you will be happy. I have an offer to go back to Hulu for one year for $5.99 per month and I am staying with YouTube TV. I still have Netflix but I keep it mostly for when the grand kids come over but I am seriously considering doing away with it. Amazon Prime gives you a lot of free movies and free second day shipping for less money.

Amazon Prime has been putting out good content too lately.

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is great as well as Jack Ryan.

Oh and that SIU team didn't have this guy on their 20 win team from a year ago: https://siusalukis.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3506 ↗

He's back and he's a monster.

Other Games Tonight • Nov 09, 2018 03:56 PM

UK is playing an SIU team who returned all 5 starters and has the size to be able to compete. I don't necessarily expect UK to lose, but I definitely expect SIU to cover the 18 point spread.
