@jaybate : found it on the web. I can't take credit for it. Just thought it was fitting.
I don't have my Masters in Photoshopping from the School of Jaybate. I wasn't even accepted into the school!

Article on FoxSports about Smart and his antics.
@JRyman : I helped you out. Just put [ text here ] ( link here ).
And everyone in attendance is now reassured that their credit cards WON'T be stolen.
@jaybate : Another conspiracy... is @Blown really Sheahon?
And it's ok @HighEliteMajor , after college I moved to missouri. Wife and I plan to move back to KCK 'burbs once our youngest graduates.
@Blown : You should go to the game but take two or more KU shirts. If we are losing go to the restroom and change them until we aren't. If you run out of shirts paint your chest with the K. If that doesn't work, tackle Marcus Smart. At the point you'll be kicked out so maybe that'll work???
If KU wins they get 100K and if you vote you can win something. Don't ask me what. It was just an email I got and KU is losing (45th place) so I figured I'd draw up some votes for KU. Arkansas State is in the lead and we can't let those S.O.B. win!!!!
Maybe we should post that video on all of the players twitter feeds every day until Friday and twice on Saturday.
Perry and Naa need to give the frosh a little history lesson on our next opponent and let them know we don't want to see this again....
[asshole](
@iowajayhawk2005 : Glad you're not just picking on Greene for poor shot selection and feel the same way about Naa. I too dislike the early threes. Even more so when they're misses. But I'm also guilty of throwing up a few a little too early so I can't hate on a guy for that. Sometimes you're feeling it. And sometimes you're feeling it but they're not feeling you. Hopefully they will all learn with more experience and rear-end chewings from Self of when it's appropriate and when it's not. Or they could end up like me and never learn right and wrong and keep upsetting us all....
But it's obvious with Self that Tharpe has a green light while Greene has an amber that's so close to red that when he makes a bad decision his butt is pulled.
@justanotherfan : Who in your scenario is in charge of non-revenue sports? The P6 or the NCAA?
I'm wondering, what are your feelings about Tharpe?? I'm sure there are a few board rats that would think the falls into the criteria of a quick trigger and throwing up guarded shots. His %Poss is lower than Greene with a lot more minutes. And his suspension to start the season shows he makes bad decisions and was in the wrong place, wrong time. Do you only like him because of his hair? Or maybe it's the way he ties his shoes?
Greene hasn't taken a whole lot of shots this year. He's 50% (4-eight) from 2 and 30% (3-10) from 3. Pretty small sample size with a rather decent % to be hating someone for shot selection. But when you have it out for someone you just have it out for someone.
@Blown : Two classic posters there....
Found this. It was on a uk website and I hate to give them any traffic....
JaQuan Lyle was the hero of Huntington Prep’s victory over Our Savior New American on Thursday night, scoring 23 points and hitting the game-winning free throws.
He’s also one of the only top-rated players in the Class of 2014 who hasn’t made a college decision.
Lyle, who decommitted from Louisville in September, was supposed to take his first official visit — to Kansas — this weekend, but that trip had to be postponed. Lyle’s nephew was born a couple of months premature and is scheduled to come home from the hospital this weekend. So he’ll spend the next few days in Indiana with his family before returning to Huntington Prep, which is off until next week.
Lyle hasn’t rescheduled the official visit to Kansas and has no other trips planned. He said he was unlikely to take any visits until March, when Huntington Prep has finished its season.
The 6-foot-5 guard mentioned Kansas, Oregon, West Virginia, Providence and Memphis as the schools that are recruiting him the hardest at the moment. He also said that homestate Indiana is no longer an option.
The three officials (Terry Oglesby, David Hall, and Ray Natili) last night knew Jay Bias was announcing the game. They also know that Bias is gaga over the new rules and he loves to hear himself talk. They're also aware that John "Handcheck" Adams watches replays of games and is making a list, checking it twice, going to find out who's naughty and nice. Or something like that. Well this made the three officials call every bat of the eyelash that could have possibly impeded the offensive player. Now the KU guys seeing how the refs from this game compared to sds game (Rick Randall, Gerry Pollard, John "I'm effing Awesome" Higgins) were whistling the new rules they had to adjust back to playing olé D or risk getting fouled up. Unfortunately they were calling it so close last night that even olé D was getting whistled. I liked how at the end when OU was trying to foul they wouldn't call the slightest touch though. I think it confused Wiggins into that turnover.
@truehawk93 : prepare for KSU
@KirkIsMyHinrich : Wiggins had a quiet game but I also thought that he was hit with a lot of cheap fouls yesterday. I thought the officiating in general was pretty poor.
The biggest problem is the inconsistency of the calls from game to game and sometimes half to half.
Good read about transfers from Pete Thamel : INSIDE COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Liked this quote: "It's a very dysfunctional culture these kids belong to," said the Louisville coach Rick Pitino. "They're starved for attention. If I take away Twitter or their phones, it's like an addictive drug. They need constant recognition. It's very sad."
@Crimsonorblue22 : A ONE game suspension!?!?! Well I was way off when I said it would be a 4 game suspension so he could come back just in time for the KU game. Maybe osu's CBA reads that you can only be suspended one game for possession of drugs (especially if you're trying to win the conference and we've already lost a conference game and we need the player to play so we don't fall any further behind....)
@jaybate : I like the aspect of more rights for the players, but there's no way that scenario turns out good.
I too hate the fact that good players ride the pine for KU and if they transfer they are stuck with sitting out a year. But would you rather them end up with a college career like BMacs high school list?? Would you be ok with watching them transfer every year because they didn't like it when the coach benched them for throwing up a three from 48ft with 32 seconds on the shot clock? Or because they don't think their current team is going to cut it so I'll just go somewhere else. How would teams know how many recruits they need to target with rules like that?
Who wouldn't love a LeBron like production on espn with some college transfer saying "I am taking my talents to Cameron Indoor".....
@jaybate : hard to say we won the disruption stat when most of their turnovers were unforced travels. We played some great d at the end of the game to wind up having two, sometimes what looked like three, guys going for the block only to leave their man (men) wide open for the easy put back.
@highelitemajor : agree with all of your points. Like Self said, Nuh-deer made some bad decisions down the stretch. Can't blame the ankle injury on shot selection.
I understand going to the monitor in the last 2 minutes is the rule because "we want to get it right", but why not use it to get it right the whole game. They don't start using replay only in the last two minutes of football. Or just in the last inning of baseball. If you're going to have a rule have it for the entire game, match.
@HighEliteMajor : Agree with you on not picking anyone else up. I like the current guys we have. I fear someone will transfer if we fill out our roster with any of the top guards. I know there's speculation but I hope it's just that and everyone comes back next year. <--- I know Embiid, Wiggins are gone.
@KirkIsMyHinrich & @Crimsonorblue22 : If I could I'd give you both 1,000 favourites.
I'm bored at work today listening to the brilliant callers that Finebaum gets every day. Lots of lost little Bam'ers out there. Here's a video from some woman that is probably nursing a headache today.
[link text](
You can tell I'm bored at work. I should probably go home... Here's something to make you laugh. I'm guessing she is feeling like crap today.
@bskeet : Unfortunately, you need a DVR with a space-time warp chip to set it for 2013.
Isn't that what the "Hopper" is??
@wrwlumpy : Made that a link for everyone. And a big THANK YOU for that link.
And I'm sure some of you have already watched SportsCenter today but former Jayhawk Royce Woolridge and WSU had a rough night.
I was just looking at the image I used and it's for football a few years back. Back in the days when t.a&m and that school to the east weren't curse words. Coincidentally okie state vs K-State is one of the games that weekend. They play each other this weekend at the Hawktagon. And Kansas is right above our next opponent Whales Vagina State...
@jaybate : It's worth more than 10 million.
Here's a piece about the world of gambling. Now that's huge $ jaybate.
USNews : Think Sports Gambling isn't Big Money?? ↗
@wissoxfan83 : Joel won't be here next year. I think Myles knows enough about ball to know that too.
College athletics make both Nike and adidas good money but the real money for these two clothing and shoe giants are at the pro level.
Nike ( Beaverton, Oregon ) has an exclusive deal with the NFL. EXCLUSIVE. NFL = CASH. They have sponsorship deals with Man U and Barca, number 2 and 3 in top grossing sports franchises world wide, as well as other top clubs Arsenal, Man City, Juventus, and PSG. Nike has deals in place with players like Lebron, Jordan, Tiger, Rory, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Neymar.
adidas ( Herzogenaurach, Bavaria ) sponsors all of the NBA and the top grossing franchise Real Madrid CF. They also sponsor Bayern (no. 12 grossing franchise and own a 9% stake in the club) and several of the top (in a tv viewership/$$) nations Spain, Germany, Argentina, and Mexico. They are also the exclusive sponsor of MLS and NHL. They don't have the fire power of individual contracts like their competitor by the do have big contracts with Beckham and D. Rose.
But the real money is in the NFL (Nike). College basketball is couch change compared to it. Of the top 30 grossing franchises world wide, the list is heavily seasoned in shoulder pads and helmets. There are a few MLB (Majestic Athletics) and football clubs (both adidas and Nike) but it's an American football world. The top NBA team is at 23 (Knicks) world wide. Lakers are 30th.
@jaybate : Two of our duopolists' teams took a big hit the last week. UM's McGary out for the season with back surgery and Louisville bouncing players to RS and buh-bye hurts adidas(r)s' chances of landing at least one in the F4.
@JayHawkFanToo : KU game is in 4 games for okie state, suspension will be only 4 games.
@wissoxfan83 : I'm shocked the new, civil policy of fb use on kusports.com along with the crap storm of commetns wasn't in the top 20.
note: plural on violations
@RockChalkinTexas I just emailed your Boss and they told me to pass this on... They're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. They have some new people coming in, and they need all the space they can get. So if you could just go ahead and pack up your stuff and move it down there, that would be terrific, OK?
Oh, oh, and I almost forgot. Ahh, they're also gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday, too...
@Jesse_Newell & @jaybate : Both great reads and analyses. I lean towards the belief that it has more to do with who is getting fouled. With Embiid, Traylor, and Black leading the team in fouls it's more than likely that Jaybate's muscle ballers are the ones shooting more FTs. Usually said muscle ballers have poor FT%.
I'll chalk it up to autocorrect... Myles
@JayHawkFanToo I'd guess it was someone that was looking to make the Associations some more $$$, because they need that.
Never mind. I answered my own question. It's just some hack with an English degree from NC State that pretty much copies/pastes from other articles, twitter feeds, and youtube videos and then adds a joining sentence or two to make it all his own. He isn't really reporting anything and just makes some condensed jumble of actual current and reporting articles. If he's getting paid for this I need to put in my application. And I'll sub contract the work to my 4th grade son...
@RockChalkinTexas Did you pull that from their actual website or is that some goofs blog?? "Kansas can still turn the season around and win the Big 12 title for the 12th year in a row." I hope this guy isn't a KU fan.
Merry Christmas to my KU Buckets friends!!!
@HighEliteMajor Too bad 03 Syracuse didn't continue that trend of 5.31 per game....
3-Point Goals: 11-18, 0.611
(C Anthony 3-5, G McNamara 6-10, K Duany 2-3).
With the new rules we need to start tracking the number of fouls forced. We can give out an award at the end of the year to the player that has the most forced fouls per minute. I'm guessing Marcus Smart is leading the nation in this stat. Self and fellow coaches will start recruiting the top foul forcers in the nation just like they recruit the 3ballers.
@jaybate Maybe the NCAA gets even more nostalgic. After the longing for the old'n days of high scoring they move forward to eliminate the "new fashion" trifecta all together...
@ParisHawk At the beginning of the year Self didn't think the Morrii would be winning the lottery so he didn't recruit Morrii replacements. Morrii came on very late and by that time all of the frosh impact'ers were committed to others. That left us with B. Anderson and Jamari. Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong but the only "bigs" we were after that year was Chol and DeAndre Daniels.
Posted this on another thread since there wasn't one for todays stories. Somebody with a KUSports account want to pass on some math for Jerry Bedore: 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5
“I think you get better because of the time and all you’re doing is just focusing on basketball,” said Self, whose Jayhawks (8-3) will play two nonconference games (Toledo a week from today and San Diego State on Jan. 5) as well as four conference games (at Oklahoma on Jan. 8; Kansas State on Jan. 11; at Iowa State on Jan 13; Oklahoma State on Jan. 18; and Baylor on Jan. 20) before the start of the spring semester.

From NCAA site: Fouls language
The terms “Flagrant 1” and “Flagrant 2” will now be used in these situations. A Flagrant 1 foul takes the place of an intentional foul and the Flagrant 2 foul replaces the previous flagrant foul.
An example of a Flagrant 1 foul would be a player who swings an elbow and makes non-excessive contact with an opponent above the shoulders. The team whose player was struck would receive two free throws and possession of the ball.
Previously, this type of foul was called an intentional foul. The committee wanted to move away from the word “intentional,” because a player’s intent was never the point to the rule.
An example of a Flagrant 2 foul would be a player who swings an elbow excessively and makes contact with an opponent above the shoulders. In this case, the player who threw the elbow would be ejected from the game, and the other team would receive two free throws and the ball.
From the NCAA this year:
In men’s and women’s basketball, panel members approved a tweak to the rules regarding elbow contact above the shoulders.
In these circumstances, officials may use the monitor to determine if a flagrant foul has been committed.
Officials will determine if the contact was a flagrant 2, flagrant 1, common foul or no call. When the officials use the monitor to review a situation that is not called on the floor, the only options are flagrant 2, flagrant 1 or no foul.
In a flagrant 1 situation, the player who was struck is awarded two free throws and his or her team gets possession of the ball.
In a flagrant 2 situation, free throws and possession are awarded and the player who threw the elbow is ejected from the game.
The men’s and women’s basketball committees felt the original intent of the elbow rules have caused too many flagrant fouls being called when they weren’t appropriate. The intent of the elbow rule has always been to protect players and eliminate the rip move where players were making contact above the shoulders of defenders.
By allowing officials to review these plays on the monitor, both committees believe it will eliminate the non-deserving flagrant 1 fouls in particular.
Jay Bias loves to hear himself talk. How can he say the new rules needed to be called all along because they're in the rule book but then say that all of the above the shoulder hits are clean. It's in the rule book Jay.
@drgnslayr The border war existed because we were in the same conference as MU for many years. Since they bolted and we don't share a conference anymore we aren't required to play one another and we've all seen how that rivalry has played out. And the only time those games got press was when MU was good as well. Their off years it was just another game to the national media. Just like the kstate games.
WSU hasn't always been good. They've made the NCAAs 4 times since 88. And they've only picked up two league crowns during that time. Moral of my story... they're up and down. And they're down longer than they are up. Fortunately for them Creighton is now gone so they'll start winning their league more, or should, so they'll be talked up more.
