@FarmerJayhawk So no in-home with Jalen. I think it's between us and the Breakers.
@FarmerJayhawk Honestly fine with getting Wilson, Moss, and Bilau and waiting until 2020 for Kyree.
@FarmerJayhawk Twitter hype got me thinking it would be today or this weekend sometime. I guess I can go to the grocery store now then.
@BeddieKU23 Well I won't say no to a 40% 3-point shooter with a lot of experience, but Walker and Bilau would be nice too.
@BeddieKU23 42.1% from 3 last season and 39.1% career. Might not always score a lot but will do his job to space the floor for us.
@Crimsonorblue22 I banged my head on the table until I forgot about last time... so I'm ready to be disappointed again.
We could really use one Kyree Walker on our team next season. We have guys who can shoot but can't really handle the ball and guys who can handle the ball but can't really shoot. Walker is someone who can pull the defense away from the rim and help Dotson with ball handling duties.
Also, would it be terrible to just put Braun/McBride/Enaruna in the corner and have him shoot 3's?
Cousy Award predictions. I'm not sure how I feel about Dotson being behind Jones, Hagans, or Nico Mannion who hasn't played a game in college yet.
You guys can come but you will probably have to sleep on the couch, and then the floor, depending on who gets here first.
@BShark I can arrange a free stay if you want to come up here for a KU game.

Heard we are doing a Colorado home and away deal.
Great deal, KU fans will pack Boulder lol.
Yep I'll be there.
Any chance on this guy? 6'3'' senior who averaged 14.4 points per game and shot 41.6% from 3 last season.
UNC's maxed at 13 scholarships right now. So would UNC's pitch to Wilson, other than a few bags of cash, be playing time for the 2020 season?

Per usual, KU killed the visit :)
Roy will...something stronger than kill it I bet.
Well according to Wilson the two most important things are his role and impact on the team. If that's true then it would be hard to find a better place than KU next season. I'm skeptical, though. I'm sure there's a little bit of green tint in his sunglasses.
@FarmerJayhawk Making a decision after UNC visit?
Depends on the team and the player I think. The 01-02 KU team that went to the Final Four had 3 important freshman named Wayne Simien, Aaron Miles, and Keith Langford. They also had Michael Lee. The 07-08 team that won a championship had a freshman named Cole Aldrich, who had a pretty important Final Four game against Tyler Hansbrough. I think KU has enough upperclassmen that a freshman or two can be thrown into the mix without compromising the overall team chemistry and tone. If one freshman can ruin a team the leadership's probably not that great to begin with.
From what I've seen, Jalen isn't much like RJ in terms of personality, even though they are friends. I can't say about Walker, though.
@HighEliteMajor He's always a Jayhawk. I will not forget the season where he shot 38.4% from the field and played no defense. I wish him luck wherever he goes.
Jalen Wilson and Walker time.
Well... We'll know in the next 5 hours.
@FarmerJayhawk For what year?
@approxinfinity That works well with me repressing most of last season, so sure.

Going to college made Zion more money. He got a ton of exposure that wouldn't have happened overseas and his advertising value has skyrocketed. The American consumer believes in the competitive level of college basketball. Footage from overseas always is received as "those players are not as good". Only real basketball nerds like us understand that those pro leagues are actually more competition.
Five years ago I would have agreed with you. But Zion was famous before arriving at Duke thanks to YouTube. There's nothing stopping a high level recruit from going overseas for a year while having a strong ad campaign either stateside, or in Australia or Asia (the Asian market is huge). It may be more lucrative long term to go to Asia and launch a campaign there just based on the population difference.
Zion is not the norm. Zion was so popular on youtube as a recruit because he was a walking highlight reel with unique size and athleticism. He was a lot more popular than RJ Barrett, who was a higher ranked recruit than Zion. And Zion's popularity reached another level after he committed to Duke to the point where ESPN and other sports websites were writing articles about him every day. Now, people who don't even watch college basketball know who he is. I don't think that happens if he plays in New Zealand.
@justanotherfan The point is it has nothing to do with his grades or SAT score and everything to do with him being an athlete. So his dad bringing up his grades and SAT score doesn't matter. He would not get into Stanford on grades alone. Not even close.
@justanotherfan Yes if you're an athlete.
Let's get Dotson back.
@Bosthawk A 4.0 and around a 1500 SAT score are minimum requirements to get into Stanford. And you'll probably need more than that to get accepted. When I did my undergrad in engineering, there were 4.0-GPA high school students who failed general courses. High school GPA doesn't mean much.
Can we lose the one-year rule yet?
@Kcmatt7 Sometimes there's not much you can do. I think Bill did everything he could have here.
The Breakers, huh?
@tundrahok Sure. The point is it's at 7:30.

Is his inverted twitter picture a subtle reference to Australia?
Nah. Kids these days just like to mess with people. I just think old pops is rowing that boat south.
It seems like it. I hope I'm wrong, but it'd be sad if Dad wanting money right now superseded his son getting to pick where he wanted to play basketball. Especially when his son is probably going to get paid a lot of money in a year anyway.
Had someone tell me today they think he'll commit to KU tomorrow then bolt when the Aussie team sweetens the offer. So even if he does announce for KU tomorrow I'll be nervous until he actually starts playing.
So he's probably just using the KU announcement tomorrow to get Australia to raise their offer then. And also probably why his 3 schools are Nike, Adidas, and UA - to see which will give him the most money. I'm depressed.

It seems like RJ and his Dad may not agree on the best place for RJ.
@HighEliteMajor Sure, it gives them something to talk about for that day, but not a lot to talk about after that. ESPN doesn't show highlights of pro ball in Australia. They aren't going to talk about how RJ is doing in Australia. It seems odd to go on a network and announce that you're going somewhere where that network will ignore you.
And presumably ESPN has some info about his decision - maybe that he's announcing for a university rather than overseas, even if they don't know which university.
@BShark I still think it would be weird for him to go onto ESPN to announce Australia. ESPN wouldn't care that he's going to play in Australia.
I was hoping he would announce before RJ. I doubt we'll hear anything today but maybe.
@JAYHAWKFAN214 8:30AM EST, which is 7:30AM CST.
Hope this guy comes back.
@Marco I don't know or claim to know. I hope he's back.
Both. I believe he'll start at the 4, though. Silvio didn't attempt a 3-pointer as a freshman and I haven't seen or heard anything to make me believe that he'll be prolific from 3 as a junior. What we did see from Silvio as a freshman is that he's a very good rebounder (his freshman numbers exrapolated to about 17 rebounds per game), so I'm hoping he is somewhere near the rim where he can give us 2nd chance points on offense. I'm also expecting him to be used as a screener in Dotson/RJ pick-and-rolls ad nauseam, using his quickness to roll to the rim for easy lobs or creating open floaters for Dotson/RJ. Occasional jumpshot or maybe 3-pointer from Silvio, but unless he's making that shot with some frequency, I don't think it'll be Kansas' most efficient form of offense.
FarmerJayhawk said:
@jayballer73 the only competition for KU is overseas. And I think itβs Kansas.
It's already been pointed out, but it would be weird for RJ to go on ESPN to announce that he's playing overseas.
@FarmerJayhawk The other guy they got seems like a pretty decent player. A 6'9'' forward who averaged 11.8 pts and 5.5 boards as a freshman and shot 39% from 3. I think he has to sit a year, though.
@Marco Robinson could hit mid-range jumpers semi-regularly. I'm not expecting much more than that from Silvio. I think he'll be getting a lot of his points from dunks too.
De Sousa = Thomas Robinson
I think even with Doke and De Sousa back, Dave will still see a lot of run. Even when Doke's been healthy, he hasn't averaged a lot more than 20 minutes per game. And if memory serves me right, Doke gets into foul trouble a lot and is hard to play end-game because he can't shoot free throws very well. I would guess that Dave still get around 10-12 minutes per game on average, and on some nights might have to play around 20 minutes.
I'm not sure who I'd RS between Mitch and Enaruna because there are benefits to both. Mitch doesn't bring a lot to the table that we wouldn't already get from Doke, De Sousa, and Dave, and we're definitely losing a few of those guys after next season, so putting him on the shelf for a year isn't such a bad idea. But Mitch probably isn't going to improve much in that year. Enaruna could really use a year for strength and conditioning and polish, but his skillset is probably more valuable to next season's team because he can shoot 3's. I just hope he wouldn't leave the program if KU decides to go that route.
If Wilson comes to KU, RS Enaruna. If not, RS Mitch.
