@approxinfinity One play where Mbiya deflected a pass in the lane, He reached out from an improbable distance and I thought whaaaaat? This team is going to be an intriguing study. Thanks for your insight.
@approxinfinity
After the 9-0 run we went back up by 9 points and I believe they only got within 8 twice after that. That is the inverse of last year where we were not in control. My next thought is this was just one exhibition game and we will see.
Maybe DP will save us from our propensity to trail by double digits early. Yes to Tiller and we will need him if Flory fouls to his heart's content. Cincy got fed to the salad master by Arkansas and BYU has depth inside plus Dybantsa is aggressive and scary.
Fact is we scored 90 while running a mystery offensive. Louisville played hard and acted pissed because they couldn't close the gap that DP created.
@BShark The dude seems centered and I love his boost to Jacque Vaughn.
From what I have seen he is a rim finisher with either hand and mid range scorer with a reliable pull up three ball. He is a play maker at 6'1" 185 with a 6'7" wingspan.
My HS assistance coach was Hadl's backup at KU. We played 8 man and he would take a snap and run around until we gave up. My oldest brother's brother-in-law HRC ran in the 100 yard state final against Riggins who was from Centralia (what ever class they were maybe Class B) HRC who was about 5'6" and 140 said this behemoth blew them all away running a 9.8 100. which was the state record at the time. Riggins reminds me of Joe Don Looney in offbeatness although Looney ran a 9.7 and was even more loony.
@SlimShaddy54
Yes we do. How tall is our TE from the football roster?
We are currently ranked 15th for next year but another big guy and outside shooter would move us up.
Flagg's miss was contested and off balance he had to angle jump to his right to get it off.
Who are our bigs going to be next season?
Darryn Petterson MVP for the West winning McD AA game. He has size, really runs the floor and will go the rack.
BYU outscores Bama 50-15 in the paint. Fool's gold?
Alabama 75 points from downtown.
Are we hearing anything from the portal side of things? Do we have anyone who is dipping their toe into the pool?
Might be good for Self and Texas but who do we get?
I could see during our losses this year if a team was better than us. Houston, TT, BYU, ISU and maybe others. Arkansas didn't look better than us and that's a team that went 8-5 in the SEC to end the conference season. We did our sloppy ball handling and throw away passes to the tune of 10 turnovers in the second half but Arkansas turned it over 8 times in the half. Percentage wise we outshot them from the field, deep and FT's. Out rebounded them and were even on the offensive boards. They had 7 more second chance opportunities. I think we were a better team than they were. We shot and defended our way into the lead late in the second half by good coaching with the zone but of course our five straight empty possessions was another painful as heck loss. I hope AJ Storr comes back. Two out of the three last games he was very impressive. Flory will become a good scorer in a year or two if he comes up with an effective shot. He is so quick and tough. Passmore is gonna be a load next year and I hope he stays. The team was playing it's best ball but our giveaways never went away. It took so long to jell.
Well crud. I don't think I can watch another game this year.
Get what you deserve. Ark gave the lead to us and we well you know.
Yep
Ark with a roster of four 5 stars and five 4 stars. Nice. KU with seven 4 or 5 stars?
What Hunter will we see the 50% from the floor and the FT line or the 8/10 and 80% from the line Hunter.
@Crimsonorblue22 Local TV guys just said that too.
"BIG" logo is as pretentious as THE Ohio State was.
KU is an ESPN analytics 71% favorite. Projecting Hunt with 19, Mayo 15, Juan 11 and KJ 9. I think that's 54. Maybe get Griffen with 8, Diggy with 6, AJ with four and Flory with 6. KU 78 Ark 73. Or my initial score without this break down was Ark 75 KU 69. Everyone down here close to the Pig Trail are as unsure as I am. Looks like Boogie will set this one out after all. KU is full of woe on the road but it's a neutral site. There are too many either/or questions/answers in this game. Hopefully it's a good one. Donna and I have eaten our BBQ loaded baked potatoes, I have Tums by my side and Dan Quayle was an idiot.
@Texas-Hawk-10
Boogie and Thiero are probably their best players. Boogie with a thumb injury and Thiero with an hyper extended knee. Thiero is a very explosive player and would probably be limited. Boogie's injury is to his shooting hand and as a PG might not be as effective and he was just medically cleared Sunday to resume basketball activities. Calipari says if he can defend, rebound and flash up and down the Court it would be enough to get some minutes.
We just don't have it this year. One AA who can score and board. We have a scorer who can hit from three. We have a forward who can defend. We have a point guard who can defend. We have a three player rotation who might somewhat score. Our 4 and 5 replacements are one and the same. They don't really complement each other. Our favorite play is a soft lob to our center who has three defenders on him and because it's not a secret. Everyone makes their share of turnovers especially when we get up by 7 points. Our best defense is when our opponents miss as many bunnies as we do. The referees are I'll say iffy. We have a HOF coach who I guess they listen to. I think they are spooked by the possibility of the court getting rushed again. Since the new year I think we are the .500 team our results confirm. I don't like it. I don't like myself not liking it. So starting now I am embracing it with like in my heart. I like our chances in the next tourney of surviving. And advancing is optional. I'll like it either way.
@drgnslayr Hope so but nope.
We couldn't stop them.
@kjayhawks It's 22.2% not counting treys. Terrible.
AJ and Rylan 0-3 with a turnover and a foul.
We are 4-18 from non threes
5-0 run again.
Good Lord Hunt
it's looking like they will put 50 on us
BYU takes ISU down
A win against Zona would be three in a row which we last achieved Jan 5th thru 11th UCF, ASU, Cincy. Long drought. We are a 6th seed before this win and the move from a 7th seed to a 6th seed made for a much better draw. I guess we could get a 5 seed if we wanted to which is even better, The lack of being able to win three in a row is a tribute to the toughness of the Big12 and our own fault. We can look damned good but never quite in control of our total game. Thank you for the 19 points AJ and for restoring our faith in you and this is on the heels of the real Zeke becoming really Zeky again. Some poster in tonights thread said he wished we could go from 7 points up to like 11 points up in the last couple of minutes of the half. No I agree but we don't do that.
@wissox I got one of those several years ago.
Diggy said fu i'm going home!!
KU ball.
UCF clearly a better offensive team but free throws can save us
UCF are a 10 ten whiny ass bunch
I know it's not nice to say but an error in the end was a killer again.
BY MFer
15-2 run was a killer now we have to be good.
Rylan you are only allowed two screw ups per possession.
If we can pull this one out we get Zona in the late game tomorrow.
@wissox I had forgot about that
@DanR If he is missing FG's then he is usually missing FT's. Don't know what it is or why but hate to waste our good scoring otherwise.
Flory and AJ 15 pts. Rylan and Hunt 3 points. Whodda thunk it?
Yep our AA with three points. Scary. Central Florida can score all game on you. Thank you AJ!!
