Have a feeling we are going to drop a truck full of pain on UC Davis today.
Juwon Evans came to ball! Got them beating Louisville in my bracket. Hope they can get past Michigan and do it.
He can stay in Fort Myers instead of moving to Bloomington IN, keep rolling out 26-8 teams in the Atlantic Sun, and get himself a golden ticket to the dance annually... But...
@tundrahok Ok I'll unlock the East as well.
@HawkInMizery congrats on the perfect bracket after day 1!
@wissox maybe the refs were making up for the NCAA screwing Virginia Tech out of a tourney berth for the last decade (particular Delaney/Allen years). Between that, the decimating injuries year after year, and surviving the lackluster Greenberg offense and the unqualified James Johnson years, fate has not been kind to the Hokies for a long time. Finally, with Buzz the future looks bright.
Grats to your Badgers! Hayes was deadly down the stretch. 8-9 from the line for a 56% (?) FT shooter. Beast mode. Hope our guys respond in a similar way when they find themselves on the line with the game in the balance.
@dylans sheeeeit, no, the groups are locked. guess we got the Western Conference and Eastern Conference.
@globaljaybird VCU got screwed with phantom fouls for sure.
@tundrahok Ah yeah sorry about that. I noticed last year's this morning (the one without a space). Well hope things pick up for you, unless you picked Miami over KU.
@Lulufulu I still remember when big Taylor Coppenrath and the Catamounts took down Syracuse in 2005. Epic!
Total mental lapse by vandy.. they deliberately fouled an 86% foul shooter with 18 seconds left up by 1. He sunk both. Then they launched a 3 from 10 feet behind the arc.
Tom Crean out! Wow
@bskeet Yeah. I could only do it if it's Iowa State. Nothing else felt realistic.
@drgnslayr agree it feels contradictory to how the bracket should work. But I guess a lot of the autobids aren't as good as middle of the pack in the major conferences?
@JayHawkFanToo hmm
I'm trying to make sense of the rules.
It looks like 2 years +/- can't hire as non coach or strength and conditioning coach.
Also 2 years +/- can't hire for a RECRUITED prospect (IAWRP).
When did this take effect?

@Jayrawks1 haha, well now I know :smile:
@Jayrawks1 LOL! Nice.
@Jayrawks1 Brollwagon23.... I'm not sure who that is :grin:

Also, their highlight reel of all teams throughout season showed us briefly losing to TCU, a team that isn't even in the tournament. That was our only clip. No WVU comeback. No JJ dunking on the baseline against Kentucky. No Frank Mason dagger against Duke.
At least Kara Lawson (I think that's her name?) gave us some love, picked us to win it all.
Wow. Corey Alexander is the dumbest person I've ever heard on the Selection Sunday show.
He said, in quick succession:
* He's picking Miama to beat us.
* Miami's backcourt is better than ours.
* The ACC is the best conference.
* How did Duke have 7 losses if it isn't the best conference?
* Kansas just lost to TCU didn't they?
* Anyone can beat anyone. That's what March Madness is all about.
... So they picked Miami over Kansas. :hurtrealbad: click

@drgnslayr Feel a bit bad for AWIII though. He put it together this year. Hope he makes a nice pile of Euros.
Ladies and brothers from other mothers, without further adieu, KU Buckets Bracket Challenge group is here!
KU Buckets Bracket Challenge β
No limit on # of brackets.
Only your dignity on the line.
Good luck! Last one to pick Duke to be eliminated is a rotten egg.
EDIT: DUE TO GROSS MISMANAGEMENT BY APPROXINFINITY... This year's brackets have been split across two groups, KUBuckets East β and KUBuckets West β
@CRH107 Did we lose the last one? If so, you're right. Well, this is the year to kick his ass when he's down.
@CRH107 believe bill may be tied (6-6?) head to head with izzo. But for a 82% winner, I guess that does count as crypotonite.
@KUSTEVE me too man
People said we're the same team as we were the first time around against Duke. Udoka played a hell of a game the first go around, but Landen had 2 points and 1 rebound in 14 minutes. He was nursing an injury, wasn't he? Also, Dwight didn't play. He could eat some minutes this go around. I do think they've gotten better, but I think Devonte and Vick have found their swag again, and Frank and Landen are locked in. Josh could put the game out of reach if he really steps up, but assuming Josh has an average day, we'll need decent games out of Svi and Carlton to put Duke away.
@Crimsonorblue22 I didn't see last night's game (if you're referring to T-Wolves / Warriors) but I saw Iguodala's comments afterwards, and they made me scratch my head.
Are we in the midst of a west side sports revolution, both in attitude and approach, as well as a pooling of talented pioneering athletic spirits?
From Kaepernick to the Warriors to UCLA, Arizona and Gonzaga, have we entered an age of unapologetic self-expression, fearless reinvention, and legitimacy after years of being exposed as pretenders and not contenders?
@Bwag of course it does. Doesn't mean that TCU isn't a good team. But we're the best team in the country with Josh.
Man. You guys are chippy tonight.
@truehawk93 TCU is a good team. They just didn't close well in a bunch of tight B12 games. If winning one more gets them on the bubble with 20 wins, I hope they win.
TCU deserves to dance. They played a hell of a game to beat us.
@Statmachine wow! Good looking out!
Moved it. That's an option under topic tools button. Some of you should have topic tools rights (based on thumbs up points). If you do and see a post in the wrong bucket please go ahead and move it. No big deal.
@BeddieKU23 what is the home away for wvu out of curiosity (sorry so lazy)? I'd imagine Morgantown magic is going to be strong as long as Huggie is there.
@JayHawkFanToo Totally.
You look at whatβs happening. Weβve got to keep our country safe. You look at whatβs happening in Germany, you look at whatβs happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this?
Hallelujah. Holy Sh-t. Where's the Egg Nog?
Too bad Frank won't be there.
"He also ranks first in the league in two-point field goal percentage (63.9%) "
Wow! Way to go Landen.
@mayjay sounds good. I replaced image with another sandbox one that i cropped a bit. keep in mind a good image needs to be able to be cropped down to that rectangle form factor on front page (and probably needs to also stand alone if the left side of it only is visible, for smaller form factor.
@HawkInMizery I liked your reasoning for the sandlot. grabbed the first somewhat iconic image i found. I'm not opposed to royals faces either though, it would fit with the rest of the images we use (which admittedly could use a reboot, but not until after march madness :smile:
:thumbsup: :thumbsdown: on this one? if you guys want a particular image i'm game. is there a particularly good one of the players?
Added topic when out and about and forgot to double back and add a pic. Thanks for reminder. Will find something tonight.
@JayHawkFanToo nice! Let's hope for tourney success and good health to cement things.
Bumped into a cousin of Frank's at the grocery store this evening. He saw the hat and wondered if I thought Frank would make it to the league. I said yes, without a doubt. The execs all think Frank is gonna be their steal of the draft. There is no way with the way he's played extended minutes, his strength finishing at the rim, his 3pt% on top of the 20 and 5, that 30 teams pass on him. I just hope it's first round.
@Blown I think we might be arguing semantics. I'm glad you hold Josh in high esteem. I don't feel like these guys like to kick things. To me to "like to kick things" would mean that they have no remorse for their actions and would gladly do what they did again. Like Grayson Allen "likes to trip people". But maybe we are looking at this thing from different angles. I can appreciate that we should be honest about the things our players do. I just see Allen and Coach K as being fundamentally different.
