@KUSTEVE awesome!
I want you to close your eyes and visualize success...

@jaybate-1.0 I emailed fox sports asking where the replay is available. Not holding my breath. But I do try to remind people other than ESPN when they are behind the technological curve.
Oubre is showing up! I have a new nickname for him....
@jaybate-1.0 you trying to get me in trouble? Nothing moves, no one gets hurt. (I'll do it on a down day)
@KUSTEVE thanks for that. Here's a good article about the significance of NJITs win over Michigan.

What's the difference in this context between cutting off supply and ousting? Do you to think Self talks directly to the ShoeCos?
Did you see calmly Mason dribbling through the trees to the foul line on a half court set then kicking the ball back to open guys on the perimeter? This was a glimpse of the x axis game everyone was waiting for. This and his finishes with floaters was less Sherron, more CP3/Nash. The deep deep oop to Alexander was spot on. I love seeing this guy have swag executing the right play. Also the steal on the sideline, instantly having control and pushing the ball the length of the floor for a transition bucket. FRANK FOR MVP.
@HighEliteMajor I don't see Mason going anywhere. He has the best handles on the team. As long as he isn't making offensive mistakes Self will find ways to keep him on the court. He doesn't have to be the facilitator. I don't think he looked bad. He did hit the corner three when Greene skip passed from the other corner; hopefully his passing game improves and his 3 % is serviceable.
I agree with everything you said about Greene and Svi. When the offense started sucking in the second half, I was hoping we'd get back to shooting some 3's. Up by 20 against Rider, you might as well work on moving the ball around the perimeter to get someone open. After Kentucky, wasn't very interested in seeing them work on the high low except for some reps for Lucas and Alexander. Did enjoy seeing Lucas pop a jumper from the foul line. And Perry jamming in traffic was notable. He obviously was intent on having a few dunks this game.
Here are my belated positive takeaways from the game:
- Frank Mason's handles were the best I've seen in the Self era, with the exception of Sherron. Not once was his dribbling threatened by KY. Granted, that wasn't really their strategy, but I was really impressed with his handles, poor decision-making aside. I believe he can play a critical role for us bringing the ball up the court, and already looks better in that regard than Naadir, EJ, and Tyshawn ever did.
- Oubre looked feeble to start the game, but the light switch turned on for a short stretch at the end of the first half. His length, athleticism and left-handedness has the potential to provide rebounds, and buckets against tall, athletic opponents. I wish he had had more playing time prior to this game.
- Svi made a 3, later drew a foul, had a steal (played excellent D in transition and in half-court) and seemed to get it and execute the strategy of drive and kick that Self indicated. I was really impressed with his decision making, and like Oubre, his length is going to be very important to us come tournament time. Green light!
- Alexander couldn't get into the flow at all with the foul trouble, and we should have expected this. He hasn't been playing that long, and it should have been apparent to us that there would be growing pains if you look at his Chicago battles with Jahlil "The blatant hook" Okafor in HS.
- JamTray missed an easy put back slam. Nerves. He also blew some box outs on free throws later. Again, nerves and lack of focus. He has the athleticism to contribute. He needs confidence and focus.
- Ellis looked aggressive to start the game and I wish he could sustain it. As others have said, he needs to throw that sh** down. He was amped and above the rim to start the game. Maybe someone needs to punch him a couple times on the bench when he gets a breather to keep him there.
- Graham was pretty much a non-factor, but I'm sold on the kid, and he didn't match up with KY. If Frank is the handles, Svi is the gun, Selden is the muscle and lockdown wing, Graham is a tweener; what I saw in the previous two games was a guard with excellent decision making that when comfortable can destroy a team. Against KY he was a skinny freshman without a role. This kid is a champion. Give him time.
- About the lack of a footer in our bigs, as people have said repeatedly. We need a full out press on next years bigs to get them to Kansas. Remember Embiid's baseline baby hook? Tell me they would have swatted that. Tell me they would have been able to own us on the glass with him here.
- By the end of the game, the non-sticky ball movement from our walk-ons was a breath of fresh air. We need to move the rock like that! How bout those kids getting 5 minutes of PT against possibly the greatest ensemble of talent on a collegiate team ever? Pretty cool experience for them!
Board acting funny this morning. I restarted it.
Hope Svi is sveeling it!
@REHawk Ah man, I hacked up your post earlier; thought I was replying. My fault!
@nuleafjhawk :) alright. That's what a bad picture of a pretty 46 year old looks like. What a crappy photographer!
@jaybate-1.0 I'm with skeet; I like the "Naismith invented it, Wilt perfected it, we talk about it" shirt, and I'm not too worried anyone will come after us.
I also appreciate your last post. She's 46. That's what pretty 46 year olds look like.
I've been extremely busy recently and so I'm sorry I haven't gotten anything done on this. @JayhawkRock78 and you guys have my endorsement however you want to go with this. This will always be a community and I appreciate your efforts in making good things happen. Rock Chalk!
Dyson stealing 3rd with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th down by one was amazing. Blew my mind.
@jayhawkbychoice hey, so the pricing seems scary to me on a run of shirts. In order to break even let alone make a profit from that site I mentioned, we'd have to have a big run of shirts, so I started looking at trying to get a better deal with people local to me, but the couple leads I had didn't amount to anything. I haven't seriously pursued this any further. I could use some help setting it up for this season. I'd just like to get something out there promoting our site to encourage fresh faces to stop by.
@RedRooster I may block all of Russia.
@jaybate-1.0 I found the video to which you refer. Hilarious :)
@jaybate-1.0 Thanks for the heads up. I've seen this happen twice before now. I'm going to mention it to the nodebb guys.

@nuleafjhawk just a dream!
@bskeet @jaybate-1.0 we get traffic for all sorts of old threads, some are quite random; you got a click through on "paul charles dozsa chess" JB. Presumably by Paul Charles Dozsa. If this metadialogue somehow violates a law of www-etiquette, feel free to kindly stop me. I find it fascinating. Everybody's doin' it (monitoring traffic sources). they just don't talk about it.
@jaybate-1.0 Thought you'd be amused to know that this posting is still actively getting impressions through Google, by people searching for "things to do in stillwater" presumably who are actually looking for things to do in Stillwater. No clicks though. I guess the full link title of "Things to Do in Stillwater After the KU Beat Down of OSU" probably scared them off.
@DoubleDD The only way Kansas has a 0-32 season is if we are stripped of all of our wins for an infraction. Otherwise, the talent we have would win at least 10 games without a coach.
Would KU faithful put up with being stripped of all of our wins for one season and retain Self? I'd say probably, provided the offending act is reconcilable. But it would be devastating and divisive for the fanbase, and really bad for the image of the university and for the image of Self. I don't really want to imagine where that would leave the program.
Hudyizing Xtreme Muscle Ballers and X-Axis Moles , etc. might have a place in the glossary if we want to expand beyond acronyms. I'd guess to the uninitiated our commonly held beliefs that Hudy is our beastmaster guaranteed to add 20 pounds to any frame given the time, and that there is a yin and yang between trees and moles might be of some interest.
@nuleafjhawk Like your mix a lot. One note, check out Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah if you haven't heard it. I like Rufus, but Buckley's version (the original) gives me goosebumps every time.
I'd love to see this go through and Bledsoe get paired up with Wiggins. They do still need an upgrade to their bigs, but if they can get Bledsoe, I'm pretty sure they'll have the backcourt more than solved.
With just days before the start of training camp, the Minnesota Timberwolves are making a final push to acquire restricted free-agent guard Eric Bledsoe in a sign-and-trade with the Phoenix Suns, sources told ESPN.com.
Fruitless contract talks with the Suns soured point guard Eric Bledsoe's appetite for playing in Phoenix.
The Wolves are offering Bledsoe the four-year, $63 million maximum level contract that he has been seeking, sources said, but because of cap restrictions, the only way he can join the team as currently constructed is through a sign-and-trade deal. Bledsoe and the Suns have been in a stalemate all summer after the team offered him a four-year, $48 million deal in July.

@HighEliteMajor Hey, his numbers are on the rise ↗, especially playing 1 on 1 against 12 year olds.
!
↗
@HighEliteMajor great! Glad you're back in business. that explains it. I wonder what the rule is so we can make the nodebb guys aware.
:) You guys crack me up. I killed the news feeds and wrote some polite nastygrams about them to kansas.com and cjonline.com, essentially asking for Jayhawks only feeds.
See the cjonline.com feed here. This is advertised as the Jayhawk feed but clearly K State stories are getting into the mix, possibly because of KU mentions within the body of the articles:
http://cjonline.com/taxonomy/term/44/feed ↗ ↗
So.... I hope they give us cleaner feeds as I like having the articles, but I understand that daily updates about K-State Volleyball crosses the line!
@VailHawk I'm hoping the presence of a track at Duke made the team have flashbacks to last year, which completely undermined the entire gameplan.
@Crimsonorblue22 the feed does not filter, @bskeet is correct. I don't think they have a Jayhawk specific feed so it may be all or nothing.
@jayhawkbychoice nice work. Frank Masons best game was against Duke, and I agree he needs to work on floaters and midrange and doesn't have the size or ups to take it to the hole with contact. His passing game improved through the year but not by leaps and bounds. And maybe if Self realized how much he needed the trey gun that he didn't develop last year, Frankamp gets early opportunities.
@jayhawkbychoice welcome aboard! I love these kinds of threads. Thanks for sharing your back story. I too am a Jayhawk by choice inherited through my wife. I always root for the good guys. Usually that means rooting for the underdogs. In the case of KU and Self, the good guys are also the establishment. And it's tremendous to not feel conflicted rooting for a winner.
Glad to have you here!
@bskeet great idea! Maybe white vs blue for home /away?
Yeah, that was kind of the idea.. with a Red skin just for fun occasionally.
@JayHawkFanToo yeah man, I was irritated at myself that I couldn't get it done. thanks for the encouragement to knock it out.
@globaljaybird For certain reasons I had to do it at my desktop and my back is really screwed up right now, so I'm limiting the amount of time I sit at it. It's getting better so I could get back on the horse.
Done.
Svat is lov? baby don't hurt me... baby don't hurt me... No more. Sorry couldn't help it
@JayHawkFanToo the fix is straightforward I just haven't been able to do it because of personal stuff. I will be able to soon. Please don't be too alarmed.
@brooksmd I like the idea of KANSAS being the headliner and kubuckets.com below; I think you're onto something there.
@Jesse-Newell Thanks for sharing the link, Jesse; I eavesdropped for a little bit early, before it became less than a blowout.
@JayHawkFanToo yeah that's the plan. It's what I've done before, I just didn't see this as an emergency at the moment and was kind of curious to see what rate they'd be generated. Pretty quickly it seems. I'll do it.
@RedRooster you've made it clear your feelings about it, but please don't discourage others from talking about the other sport, whatever it's called.
@jaybate-1.0 well we know the spam ids arent present on kusports :) Well not since the great purge, anyway. I'm going to wipe them out. It just makes me groan a little looking at the user list.
It's nice to hear there's interest in shirts. I started looking at ink screen shirt sites tonight. If we get the right bulk we could print something quality that will either break even or get a slight profit. We'll see. if you guys want to play with it and send in your own designs, try this site out and send in the links:
www.customink.com ↗
(note: dont order this shirt, its just an example of what you can do)
@HighEliteMajor Sorry HEM, thought this was fixed. When I upgraded the board, I went to 0.5.1, then reverted to 0.5.0 when I had login problems. This appears to be the fix they made for the 0.5.1 login issue https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/issues/2043 ↗ ↗. I'd upgrade again to 0.5.1 but I think I'd prefer to wait at present, provided you can login at work.
Is it possible you still have the cached version of the site in your work browser, and could you try to Ctrl-f5 on the site next time you try (or flush cache) next time if not? These kinds of issues are the downside of being bleeding edge I guess... Most times its something minor, but login problems definitely stink. Let me know if it can't be resolved and if so I may upgrade to 0.5.1 early and confirm major functionality looks good.
:) I saw it was you by email after I wrote that and got curious. Funny. I wish we had 1000 legit users! Maybe some day. I'm seeing more KU gear and Jayhawk brand recognition here in Richmond VA. Thank you Morrii smacktalk, U of R beat down, VCU let down, Andrew white and Frank Mason recruitments. Hopefully it's not just that stuff and the brand recognition is a national phenomenon. It's gotta be. I want to make a run of Kubuckets.com t-shirts soon, I've just had some big life stuff to attend to but I want to get some done before ball season. Probably just straight block letters. I think those might do wonders to increase our fold.
@1000thUser Yeah, well. Glad you made it. Dont get too comfy. About 600 are going to get deleted.
@Jesse-Newell You rocked this piece. Great stuff. Thanks for taking us all the way through the story. I can't believe she let him sit in her seat provided he met her conditions. Fantastic detail. That is one kind lady.
