I don't think I've seen Wake make a three yet. Horrible shooting.
Still can't figure out how they came to within 4 after our 40-12 lead. Oh well. Can't complain about the result. Nor Cole's performance.
@brooksmd link didn't work for me, what was the video?
@ralster my only comment is that your comparing them with the 1s, whereas I'm more concerned with the 2s.
But I do like KU going to the Final Four. And Seth Davis agrees! http://www.si.com/college-basketball/2017/03/14/march-madness-cinderella-rankings-upset-picks ↗

@mayjay going back to my original point, wouldn't you be happy if Coleby turns in a Cole performance?
Crap, I meant to reply to @ParisHawk
@mayjay going back to my original point, wouldn't you be happy if Coleby turns in a Cole performance?
Let's hope Coleby turns into the 2008 Aldrich. At which point I'll surely call him...COLEBY ALDRICH!
@HawkChamp yeah, not a lot of tolerance around here for excellence from coaches other than former KU players or assistants, or Izzo. Some of it is just having fun, I realize.
@Crimsonorblue22 no but I can't say they looked impressive either. At times they did, but generally no. And they looked horrible against TCU even without JJ. Should've won that game. No D. Hopefully they were just tired and needed a break.
(I know, I'm talking out if both sides of my mouth. Just go with it!)
@KUSTEVE I like it! All this said I've got KU in my Final Four but it's kind of a heart pick. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they got a Final Four. But it is ironic that no one else is picking KU with a POTY, a tremendous freshman, and the best backcourt in the country. That's a recipe for success of I've ever seen one.
@truehawk93 love the optimism! But my happiness with them is based on whether they've reached their potential. They've had over 30 games to show their potential and I think they've shown that they're about the 5th or 6th best team in the country, behind potentially 3 of the 2s and one of the 1s (Nova).
They beat Kentucky on the road, right?! Then they got their arses handed to them by WVU. They beat ISU right? Yeah, then they lost at home to an improved ISU.
Kentucky is playing better. Duke is playing better. KU is NOT playing better. KU hasn't looked good for a whole game in a while.
I'm sorry, I just don't trust them to be a final four team.
Iowa State is hot, but KU is definitely more reliable. Not sure why all the hate. We're on a roll when Josh is in.
SI certainly isn't giving KU a chance. Crazy.

Aside from those of us on this board?
If you're happy with anything less than the Final Four, you're admitting that the Big XII is weak.
I do think it's weak, and that we were over-seeded. So give me an Elite Eight and I'll be happy.
So am I apparently... did we sign him?
@HighEliteMajor I tend to agree. It's the typical short-sighted anti-authority narrative that helps sell news very effectively. The simple-minded gobble that stuff up. The only way you can add more drama to the best reality TV out there is to... well...add drama. And that's what the Star is doing, and that's what KK is doing as well.
Who knows, maybe KK has pure motives at least in part. I can't stand his self-righteous tone in general, but I don't have a problem giving him the benefit of the doubt.
But we all know the Star hasn't an ounce of purity. Not only are they not concerned about truth, but they're also desperate for attention. Bad combination.
Josh and Frank are too hungry to go out in the 2nd round. This is the best lineup we've had in a LONG time.
Dang it. Would've loved to have watched him play.
So I guess he got zero minutes?
Hate to say it, but I hope he takes care of his temper before he gets married.
He now officially has my approval to rant on the officials for 5 additional games.
@jaybate-1.0 that was probably me lol. I actually thought Tharpe would end up better than Mason. Oops.
Yeah, not sure why he thinks they are somehow primed to win out after they barely broke the half century mark in a loss against an average Virginia team. KU meanwhile, wins its conference by 3 or 4 games and somehow has a better chance of losing.
ESPN made him say it. I'm convinced.
Isn't today the anniversary of his 100-pt game?
Good thing these weaklings are giving up so many offensive boards.
Hey Self! This is OU, not OSU! You're supposed to win!
BPI = Broken Percentage Index
Nah, they'll probably give it to Carolina. There's plenty of precedent for KU getting jumped.
Horrible announcing. Unwatchable.
Walton was part of the UCLA streak right? I wonder if that's why they have him on.
...is make Coach Cal look like a saint

I think the answer, most of the time, to your question is....Yes, only KU. With a few exceptions...mainly when we go on the road! I notice this all the time when I watch other B12 games.
I think his point was that KU is the only team that sells out OTHER teams' home games. (If I'm understanding correctly)
@KansasComet said:
What else could he say? He is probably not going to win the conference. Time to focus on the next goal. A Final Four for Baylor would be a huge deal.
Yeah this was my impression from what he said too. I thought it was a good answer. He knows he's not winning it and he knows the media knows it. He's not saying KU doesn't have that same goal. Not sure why he's catching flack for it.

I want to embarrass the shockers!!!
Given that we haven't embarrassed anyone this year, my guess is we'd have a hard time embarrassing WSU. Would be nice, but I wouldn't bet on it.
LOL was just going to post this link myself. Here's the screenshot.
Yep very impressive. What a stud. I think it's a good sign that he's back to his old self. Hitting those floaters and finishing at the rim (as much) is what was missing the last couple weeks.
But he's back.
Did Marshall win it when WSU went undefeated?
A nice 40-minute version at least
If I'm Krueger I'm pimping guard success. He's got Buddy. What guards has Bill gotten to the league (that have done anything) besides Mario? Not all Bill's fault, but the proof is in the pudding.
Brandon Rush, Mario, who am I forgetting?
And then the guys who were disappointments... Sherron, Tyshawn, Elijah, Selby, who else?
Given, Lon has Buddy and who else? He certainly hasn't had the talent that Self has had though.
Self has to get a stud guard at some point. And get him to the league and perform. Meanwhile we should still be okay, but I think something like that would've sealed the deal with Trae. Who knows, maybe Mason will go pro and have an Isaiah Thomas type career. Let's all hope that happens!
@Crimsonorblue22 said:
If we could have DG back over young who would you want?
Next year DG obviously. What guards are we looking at getting next year? Surely there's another Trae out there somewhere...

Looks like Devonte for one more year!

Two things:
1) We don't lose big games in conference. Especially at home. When was the last time we lost to a ranked team at home when the conference title was on the line? Was Okie State ranked when Smart did the backflip?
2) As @jaybate-1.0 mentioned earlier, we played like we played against Tech because we had WV coming. We played like we did against WV earlier because we had Kentucky coming. We played like we did against Iowa State because we had KState coming.
Coach preps the kids for the big games at the expense of performing well in the small games. More often than not it works out well for the small games. Even more often than that (it seems), it works out well for the big games.
We'll be fine. We'll probably beat Baylor too. It's the others we should be concerned about.
See, I told ya we'd be fine.
(Nostradumbass almost struck again)
@approxinfinity I agree, although that dunk last night was pretty explosive. If only we could see more of that. Anyone know why Self removed him?
