LL has to help on D there.

If I were on the floor I would go to Coach K and punt the ball on his nuts. But nobody ever let me start.
If Andy Reid doesn't block it

Lotta time left. Will be a tough closeout. Is Coleby just an embarrassment to the game? Surprised we didn't see him last game. Seems like a good rebounder at least.
Looks like Dok is already > LL
Can't stand that a guy can just jump to a spot at the last second and pick up the foul when he isn't even trying to play defense. That's taking advantage of the rules, but it ain't basketball. If i did that in a pickup game and called a charge, I'd get my ass kicked for being a pus-y. And rightly so.

We can't hit the broad side of a barn. And why do we always get stuck with happy whistle?

@DanR Plenty of games that Sherron was a Hero 09 @ OU he was great and hit shots down the stretch, Baylor and Cornell in 10, I remember that Cornell team being pretty dam good, Reed also hit a big 3 in that game, they went to the elite 8 that year and damn near beat UK.
Yeah I remember him trading 3s with Willie Warren. It was beautiful.
Unless we get LL 2.0 like we did the last part of last year, or Dok develops quickly, sweet 16 at best. LL's injury is concerning. It's obviously affecting his play, and we're getting beaten up inside as a result.
Just not passing the eye test tonight
No toughness at all
Lost shoe sounds like it's injury related. Same for that was in a boot?
Not looking like a typical KU team right now. No toughness at all. IU is owning us.
Well, our bigs suck so far.
Glad we're hitting our free throws
Josh is useless so far
Something that can be fixed I hope.
Unbelievable. Not only does he flash beautiful moves, but he's so consistent. So reliable. Philly knows what they're getting out of him every night. He's like Jordan in that sense. And also in the sense that he's worth more than the price of admission. You know your gonna see something.
My guess is he got tripped up in practice. No idea who would've tripped him though...
How does that compare with those of Kentucky, UNC, and Duke?
One of the very few - less than a handful - of guys I'd pay to watch. I usually don't like watching big men, but Embiid is different.
Maybe the better question would be, how about conference title this year, no NCAA title though, but more pieces come back next year. Conference title would be all but guaranteed, and NCAA would be even higher likelihood than this year? (Or maybe it wouldn't be?)
What if, similar to 08, win a title and lose our entire starting lineup and then some gone to the NBA? Then we lose the talent needed to break UCLA's conference title next year?
Would you rather have an NCAA title this year or break the conference title record next year? (I know, both, but you know.)
I wanna watch every one of his games. So fun to watch.
...are two of the most predictable coaches in the country, according to ESPN's John Gasaway ↗.
Let's not forget that KU has rarely been bounced by teams with superior talent. Is Kentucky the only one we weren't favored against? Maybe Michigan?
Since KU won:
Michigan State (1)
UNI
VCU
Kentucky (2)
Michigan (3?)
Stanford
WSU
Nova
Talent-wise, if you tell Self at the beginning of each of the above seasons that he gets to pick which group of guys he wants, he'd pick the KU guys in five or six of the above 8.
I guess you could argue that it's easier to beat lesser competition with more talent, which is perhaps why Puke and Kensucky have done relatively well in the tourney. But I don't think the gap is all that bad.
Not a Twitter user...was Steph at a practice?
Just saw the box score, 14 pts in 14 minutes last I checked
En fuego again tonight
Is Wiggins injured?
...but why not Graham? Doesn't Graham spend more time at point than Mason? Wasn't Mason unofficially converted to the 2?
Vick will be the backup 2, with some backup at 1 and 3. His defense will get him more PT out of position than Svi. Vick will rarely play the 1 because that will go to Mason and Graham 95% of the time. It will be rare to see Self take them both out, and when he takes one out, the other will play point. So Vick will play the 2 the vast majority of the time, sometimes coming in at the 3 for defense and/or small ball with JJ playing the 4.
JJ will start at the 3 and convert to the 4 spot during small ball. Zero chance he won't start right off the bat.

He better crack the whip. Or how about he just bring a .45 to practice?! ;)
Not sure that worked too well with Barry Hinson (snipers)...[link text](

Post game Self ... Said frank was a lil rattled because he was suppose to have 25 family members there and was concerned about the roads.
Wait...WHAT?!

How many teams in the nation have two Mcdonalds all American who sit the bench? Not counting Kentucky. Serious question, is there any other team?
And how many McDonald's MVPs have been so unproductive their freshman year? Bill is obviously an awesome coach, but that does strike me as strange.
@Hawk8086 my thoughts exactly. Wasn't it Graham mostly?
Yeah our defense was weak, especially late in the game. We played them too close on the perimeter. I'd rather them beat us with the 3 than driving the ball down our throats.
Does Huggins still get a bonus for beating us?
I think the biggest question is whether they will be back next year. Some seem to think that they won't because they're not ready, others think that they will because the NBA is stupid, and others think since they will, Self should give them more time so he can get the most out of them while they're here. Yet others (like myself) wonder if their lack of playing time against the cupcakes hurt their draft stock and hurt our chances come late March.
Although I recognize that Self is incredible, he's not perfect. On the other hand, he's privy to all kinds of info I'm not privy to, so I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt on it.
Good question! I wonder if Bill will step up about it. He was basically clotheslined on the last play of regulation. I would think MAYBE it was because it was so close to the end of the game and "refs aren't gonna call that", but then they call the over-the-back on Landen right after that!
I don't know if it's just because he's small and tough, but he's certainly not getting the benefit of the doubt.
Agreed. I think the biggest thing is that he wouldn't let them play while we were beating the tails off of so many teams.
Not to say I don't think he's an incredible coach though, perhaps still one of the top 5 in the nation. And these upper-classmen certainly play with more passion than the youngsters.
Does anyone know if Jamari is okay? He took a beating for us. Played his heart out and took some hard falls. Stats won't show, but I think he played the game of his life last night and might have played longer if he could've. He's a senior, he lives and breathes KU basketball, and he's come a LONG way. Extremely proud of him today and hope he's okay.
