Draft Declarations Thread • Apr 06, 2018 01:12 PM

@wissox Those people are silly Newman would’ve been great to have back. Vick I’m torn on, I wish he had some leadership qualities.

Probably Going to Move On From Zach Harvey • Apr 06, 2018 01:13 AM

Something similar going on here with the girl down the street in trouble for sending a picture of herself to her boyfriend. Dumb kids. Just like we would’ve been (no matter the era).

Something funny I read - A family was going thru pictures after g-ma passed. Her granddaughter found a neatly bound box containing an envelope with a few pictures in it. She carefully opened the envelope and promptly busted a gut laughing. It was nudes of her great-great grandmother, but not classy stuff. Really depraved images for even today. Apparently she was trying to coax her husband to come back from his girlfriend by getting these pictures taken professionally. (I don’t know if it worked)

Frank driving the ball A LOT • Apr 05, 2018 02:48 PM

This is why I believe Devonte' has a shot of sticking in the league. Graham is a much better passer and while not as quick as Frank he is more under control with his head up at all times. Frank tends to lower his head on drives limiting passing opportunities.

It sounds like Frank needs to shoot more threes. I believe Devonte' needs to work hard on becoming an elite defender and the rest should come more naturally to him. Hope they both stick around the nba for years to come.

Joe Dooley Moving Up • Apr 05, 2018 02:17 PM

🏀🏀👀 Let’s not get another thread locked.

Although I’m not so sure what’s insulting about Bill’s balls? Pretty glorious when he whips it out on the court for all to see. (Insert heavenly light emoji)

Modern Basketball vs Bill Self • Apr 05, 2018 02:12 PM

Dedric clearing out the post to the free throw line allowing Dok one on one tea bag time with the defender is what I’m hoping for. Lob city. Demoralizing and devastating if they start fouling.

Frank driving the ball A LOT • Apr 05, 2018 01:27 PM

Frank was an ineffective driver at KU early on as well. He’ll adjust. Hopefully the league gives him time to adjust.

Modern Basketball vs Bill Self • Apr 05, 2018 01:15 PM

@KUSTEVE I contend that Perry’s senior year was the beginning of small ball for Bill. Dedric will be a continuation of that form of small ball if I had to bet.

KU Twitter/Memes • Apr 05, 2018 01:11 PM

It’s obviously photoshopped, but it’s funny. I like it.

Nothing new yet. It looks like AZ wants Stumpy to agree to pay back $1 million of his retention bonus if he's fired as a result of the investigation.

Draft Declarations Thread • Apr 04, 2018 05:30 PM

The only declaration I have is I have no clue who the acronyms stand for if they aren't a KU guy.

Draft Declarations Thread • Apr 04, 2018 05:03 AM

Oubre came on strong late. Bill himself said he should’ve played him more early in the season. Lesson learned. Water under the bridge.

Why We Didn’t Win—Part Two • Apr 04, 2018 02:33 AM

BShark said:

@KUSTEVE Then who do we blame for him not doing it more?

Newman, himself. Bill implored him to drive more earlier in the season to take some of the pressure off of Devonte’. It just didn’t click before the tournament at all. He was starting to get it, now it’s time to start over.

Isn’t it better to have lost to clearly the best team in the land vs a bunch a scrubs? I know which narrative I’d prefer.

Why We Didn't Win -- Look Beyond Made Threes • Apr 03, 2018 02:21 PM

9-25 would’ve given KU a chance. 13-21 didn’t.

Hat Off to Jay Wright • Apr 03, 2018 05:46 AM

“Its who has the most open 3ptas, stupid.”

...As long as it’s not Garrett.

Michigan Actually Plays D • Apr 03, 2018 05:29 AM

Nova has 5 final fours all time. Not a blue blood yet, but they are knocking in the door.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I’m pretty sure Foster had to go. And it’s treated him well.

Langford • Apr 02, 2018 11:13 PM

Athleticism shouldn't be an issue next year, leadership is needed. So Vick isn't the ideal Sr. for next season. Malik could be that upper class leader, but he's not likely to come back.

Bring on Romeo.

Last Five Seasons KU vs the "One-Trick Pony" • Apr 02, 2018 08:41 PM

You go after the most talented guys that fit your system to give you a shot every year. It's difficult with all 4 year guys to be good for more than a 1-2 year stretch. So your championship window is 2-4 times every 10 years instead of every year. You may have a better chance in those years, but bad luck can end any season. Personally I want to be I it every year (playing the numbers game).

1 big12 team in the top 25 won't hold out through the non con.

2019 Recruiting • Apr 02, 2018 03:31 PM

Any 4 year program players that’ll win KU a championship on the line? McCormack and Agbaji possibly?

Post season ranking fwiw • Apr 01, 2018 03:39 PM

I’d guess the post season poll to be something like this:

  1. Villanova
  2. Michigan
  3. Virginia
  4. Kansas
  5. Duke
  6. Loyola
  7. ...

Great year, but like any team that doesn’t end the season with a w it’s slightly disappointing right now.

Game Day Chat room • Apr 01, 2018 02:14 PM

Nova had a normal shooting night against WVU and beat them in a similar fashion to a KU. I have hope. Nova had an off shooting night and beat TTech by 11 - red flag. Nova shoots off the charts and whoops a slightly below average shooting KU team. Ouch.

I mean it’s not as if this was the worst defense in the history of the final four, but Nova destroyed the record for 3s made.

kjayhawks said:

How the hell did Xavier beat this team twice?

They beat Xavier like a red headed step child twice this year. Ironically 95-79 and also 89-65.

Lost to Butler, St. John’s, and Providence. And loss the conference to Xavier who only had the two losses to ‘Nova in conference.

Time for a Defensive philosophy change • Apr 01, 2018 02:01 PM

@betterfireE There are not 7 guys on KU’s team that can hit a three. Don’t take away from what Villanova did, they were far more awesome than KU was bad.

Draft Declarations Thread • Apr 01, 2018 01:55 PM

@wissox They can go back now as long as no agent is hired.

Perspective: Bill Up Here, Jay Down There • Apr 01, 2018 01:41 PM

Wright’s team has beaten one seeds 3 times rather soundly this season.

Let's play at our pace. • Apr 01, 2018 01:38 PM

@approxinfinity Funny I was just thinking about all the shots ‘nova made late in the clock...it didn’t matter early, late they made it.

Unknown topic • Apr 01, 2018 01:34 PM

I literally felt sick to my stomach watching that game last night. I’ve never felt the sting of a season ending loss 5 minutes into a game before. I’d definitely rather lose a nail biter as opposed to watching KU in such a hapless state. Too bad Tech didn’t take advantage of ‘novas off shooting night, because this definitely wasn’t one!

Next year looks bright, but the best thing I see is a home and home with Villanova to try and figure them out.

Time for a Defensive philosophy change • Apr 01, 2018 01:25 PM

Villanova would’ve been ranked #1 all year if it wasn’t for Virginia. No shame in losing to that team on an unbelievable shooting night. I don’t care how guarded or unguarded the shots were they knocked them down.

Game Day Chat room • Apr 01, 2018 01:47 AM

Always thought ‘nova was the best team in the tourney. Gonna have to earn this one with a 15 point hole. Damn, I was hoping to be clinging to a lead. Well at least we won’t see KU play not to lose tonight.

Game Day Chat room • Apr 01, 2018 01:43 AM

@Blown Like OU 2 years ago.

Game Day Chat room • Apr 01, 2018 01:39 AM

I’m hoping they come out flaccid as a 90 yo fresh outta viagra in the second half. It’s hard to hit 60% unguarded threes, let’s shore up that D and get back within striking distance.

Game Day Chat room • Apr 01, 2018 01:33 AM

Wtf

Game Day Chat room • Apr 01, 2018 01:28 AM

It’s kinda like watching a good friend take his last breath. This hurts to watch. I’m hoping for a Lazarus act

Predictions tracker • Mar 31, 2018 10:04 PM

I guess ‘nova earned a shot at KU by beating wvu and tech. Now it’s time to send them packing.

Draft Declarations Thread • Mar 31, 2018 03:31 PM

@truehawk93 Overseas probably.

Lets get it on • Mar 31, 2018 03:30 PM

No one can say KU had an easy path, they are earning this ‘ship.

Absolutely Great Story about Doke • Mar 31, 2018 12:54 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 Like 90 something... lol (I know what you meant)

Final Four bound!!! • Mar 31, 2018 12:26 PM

I’d rather be worrying about how Dok will guard ‘Nova, than worrying about guarding Dok.

"Every time he hit me," Seton Hall's Angel Delgado told The Athletic, "I felt like my body was about to break."

KU to play in MAUI Invitational in 2019 • Mar 30, 2018 01:34 PM

@Kcmatt7 If you can get to Denver, the tickets will be closer to $500-600 to Honolulu on a direct flight.

Anyone who is looking for tickets go to https://www.primesport.com/d/ncaa-mens-final-four?national-championship ↗ cheapest ff4 tickets (they start at $84 for the Championship game)

I hear the French airline is striking. She may get on the last flight, but also may have to make different plans. Sheesh. How many hurdles must this poor woman jump to see this 1st game?

Darius Bazley Skipping College • Mar 30, 2018 12:01 AM

It's the G league that's puzzling to me, not skipping college. At least he knows what he wants. Most 17 year olds don't.

Darius Bazley Skipping College • Mar 29, 2018 08:51 PM

Wow, the G league is garbage. I hope he gets the development expected, cause the environment and pay will both suck way worse than going to many colleges (pre-FBI).

It's kinda like pre-season NFL, if offered tickets I'd want to know how much you're paying me to sit thru that junk.

Darius Bazley Skipping College • Mar 29, 2018 08:43 PM

@BShark Ha I didn't even notice the link.

Darius Bazley Skipping College • Mar 29, 2018 08:41 PM

@BigBad Same as it used to be pre-OAD.

@bshark Why do you think he went to the G league? Couldn't he make way more money in Europe?

Villanova Wildcats - Saturday - 7:49 pm - TBS • Mar 29, 2018 03:18 AM

Anytime Marvin either had the ball or before he got the ball, they were just smothering him," Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "It was very difficult to get him the ball."
"All the time he was on the court I was with him, just pushing him a little so he could feel me every time," Mykhailiuk said. "Don't let him go anywhere without me actually just putting my hand on his body so he would get tired."

We need more of this Saturday.
