Did you mean Newman?

“I bleed crimson and blue, therefore I crap purple.”

Not a popular T-Shirt around these parts. Funny as it is crude though.

Can Bruce help us out again? • Jan 17, 2018 01:00 PM

Trae has an over 10% rurnover rate the last 6 games. 46 turnovers in 6 games.

I wonder what Vick said in the handshake line to make Huggins react the way he did?

Big 12 up! • Jan 15, 2018 10:52 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I meant multiple teams not including KU. It doesn’t happen. If you think KU is final 4 caliber then Texas Tech is for sure.

I don’t think ku is there yet, personally. Maybe later, but not yet.

Big 12 up! • Jan 15, 2018 06:18 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 When is the last time there have been more than one Big 12 team considered a final four threat? How about 4? And that’s only if you include KU. Are these teams really final four caliber? That remains to be seen.

As a KU fan who wants the team challenged; I’d rather face 3 top 10 teams than 6 top 64 teams.

@nuleafjhawk 🤓 Analytics never won a game.

Big 12 up! • Jan 15, 2018 03:38 PM

But is the perception of the Big12 being up due to KU being mortal? Has KU fallen back to the pack or has the big12 caught up? I think it’s a little of both. It’s also what we’ve been yearning for. There are a couple legit teams in the conference not named KU. This can only be good preparation for the NCAA meat grinder, unless Kansas players get demoralized or injured. I think they will rise to the challenge with Devonte leading the charge.

Kansas-West Virginia on Monday is a high-leverage game for the Big 12 regular season title. The Jayhawks will have a 46% chance to win the title outright with a win, 21% with a loss. The Mountaineers will have a 19% shot at the outright title with a win, 5% with a loss.

Izzo: RUH-ROH • Jan 14, 2018 05:38 PM

‘97 was the biggest heartbreak for me. Then ‘16, then ‘11. The team in ‘11 had an easy bracket, but I just wasn’t as emotionally attached to those teams. I didn’t feel like the Morri would be good role models for my kids.

I was satisfied in ‘12, but that’s the team if I could give a ‘ship to I would. They earned it.

Silvio • Jan 14, 2018 05:28 PM

@Gunman Oh yeah, lots of energy, lots of athleticism. Just no clue what KU is doing yet. (The play I was referring to he didn’t run, he didn’t move off his spot he was so lost. He was so lost he couldn’t even give effort) We need him to get up to speed as quickly as possible, I just have no clue how long this will take. Silvio can be a very nice player for KU yet this year.

WVU player punches TT fan • Jan 14, 2018 05:12 PM

Hey, Traylor took a jab and didn’t respond after losing to a hated rival. WVU’s players are just experiencing what KU gets every year. WHEN a top 5 team goes down it hurts, it’s hard to get there and the other team delights in beating you more than any win you’ve had so far.

The court is stormed nearly every time KU loses on the road (so nearly every loss) and not once can I remember a player laying hands on a fan.

Hawaiian Punch (in the gut) • Jan 14, 2018 05:08 PM

Yeah terror attacks are scary, but best when they aren’t real.

About a month ago my sister was in London shopping, which is something they never do. I mean they never go to any populated city in Europe near any holiday, but this Christmas they let their guard down. As they were out and about 100s of people came running and screaming out of the subway yelling about a bomb. My brother in law who is in the army grabbed up his family and took them into a nearby shop. He grabbed the owner and barricaded the door while the “excitement” was going on. I believe he did step out at one point to help pull an elderly couple into the shop as they were getting trampled. Then for the next couple of hours people would be milling about on the street would freak out for no reason scream and run causing a mini panic. Luckily the whole deal was a false alarm. But the people were sure experiencing post traumatic stress disorder.

Glad I live here in good old Kansas!

Silvio • Jan 14, 2018 04:55 PM

Silvio looks athletic and fairly strong, but is completely lost right now. Once he figures things out he’ll be much better. I’m not sure if this will be this year or next, but Silvio will be a nice get for us. The only thing I was disappointed in was he was so lost. One play he just spun in circles while 3 or 4 other Hawks dove for the loose ball. Other times he got spun atound by KSU players so he couldn’t rebound either. He will get better as the game slows down, but as @Crimsonorblue22 says it’ll take some time.

It would be silly of them to try to use the loss at AFH considering KU also beat them at Bramlage one month later.

Emotions aren’t so logical.

Who's playing in #14 uni? • Jan 12, 2018 03:35 PM

@mayjay I agree about most announcers, but I’ve been watching KU play outside of friendly Jayhawk area (on rare occasion) and still heard non-KU fans say Fran is hard on KU. Sometimes it seems like he really likes KU and wants them to do well (like a parent being hard on their kid). Other times it seems as though a deep seething hatred for KU comes seeping out from down within the darkest part of his soul. Usually raring its ugly head when KU plays a tight game. Fran really likes it when ISU or OSU beats KU. Innocently enough you could think he’s pulling for the underdog, but this is different if you pay attention. Fran doesn’t root for any non-con team to beat KU like he does ISU and OSU.

@Crimsonorblue22 helluva guy!

let's check reality shall we? • Jan 11, 2018 11:50 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Yeah, my coach was an unoriginal sucker, I didn’t mean to imply he was the originator. We would run the weave and morph it into the motion offense that Roy ran at KU. He told us to watch KU play because that was our offense run correctly. Lol.

let's check reality shall we? • Jan 11, 2018 02:21 PM

@jaybate-1.0 I don’t think Bill came up with the weave, maybe he re-popularized it? We ran a weave offense in hs in the 90s. It sucked back then too. It only works if you have an aggressive guard that can take advantage of a mismatch on a switch. KUs guards are not aggressive like Mason was last year, so I don’t see the weave being a viable option at this point.

Tough News for Texas • Jan 11, 2018 03:26 AM

Leukemia is one you can survive if it's the "correct" kind hodgkins lymphoma has a high survivor rate (90% but not 100). Unfortunately my brothers good fried had non-hodgkins lymphoma and didn't make it past his sophomore year in college. It can be extremely aggressive. I hope this young man has a good prognosis. He has a tough road ahead of him.

Is Self Cleared to Coach Against TCU? • Jan 09, 2018 07:39 PM

@cragarhawk Bill seems to prefers running the chop play that he came up with. There is enough tape out there on it he may want to keep any new wrinkles under his hat. It’s a safe bet if ku needs a bucket the chop play will be run. If it’s tied I think he lets the players just play more often than not.

Why not just Free Billy right now? • Jan 09, 2018 07:15 PM

If you have a severe peanut allergy it is very much like the donut example. You donut make assumptions. Assumptions make you dead.

An Awesome Saturday • Jan 08, 2018 12:19 AM

@truehawk93 It’ll make it that much more fun beating OU this year!

Alex Smith • Jan 07, 2018 03:46 PM

If I weren’t a lifelong Chiefs fan, I would be devastated. However, this is what I’ve come to expect.

I’m just glad KC has a coach that can win 10 games. The losing seasons were wearing very thin. So does KC get aggressive and try to fix the postseason coaching issues? Or will the powers that be allow Reid to keep being Reid? After Vermeil it was pretty horrible until Reid. I’m of the opinion he can coach, but needs a good offensive coordinator calling plays.

Is TCU Mitch Lightfoot's Break Out Game? • Jan 07, 2018 03:23 PM

@Bosthawk At one point Garrett was the only Hawk boxing out and he was at the three point stripe. Guess who got fouled while picking up the rebound...yeah that’s right Garrett.

Self’s best team at KU • Jan 07, 2018 03:21 PM

Wvu on the road will be far and away the toughest game. Then osu for whatever reason. KSU and ISU will be rocking, but the ou game should be a fun one to watch. KU can’t stop anyone, so Trae should drop 40 and OU can’t stop anyone so KU should score 100.

KU can beat anyone on a good shooting night, but it puts a lot of pressure in the offense to make shots when the defense gives up buckets so easily. House of cards waiting to collapse, but it can be magnificent to look at.

The less athletic version of Mitch Lightfoot does pretty good for TCU.

Alex Smith • Jan 07, 2018 01:06 AM

@BShark The disappearing run calls continue to plague Reid when he gets tight. Sucks

Alex Smith • Jan 07, 2018 01:02 AM

Just as Bledsoe begat Brady, so shall Smith begat Mahomes.

And the cap savings and pick will allow the defensive rebuild to begin in earnest. I’m liking the Ragland pickup, but more young help is needed for that aging D. Maybe go back after Poe (or is he hurt?)

Another wide receiver would be nice too.

Alex Smith • Jan 07, 2018 12:49 AM

@kjayhawks No, but he's not the solution either. The defense is horrible, that's the main reason for the loss. I'm not laying the blame at Alex's feet, it's just time for something else.

Alex Smith • Jan 07, 2018 12:38 AM

Alex can be traded for whatever he's worth. Please. I'm ready for the unknown for better or worse.

@Jayballer54 Can Devonte’ take a redshirt now and play next year?!? That would put them over the top next season, (but would destroy this years team :( ).

Recruiting Thread • Jan 05, 2018 03:56 PM

@BShark Do you think the staff is confident about landing Romeo?

Well guys • Jan 05, 2018 03:55 AM

Sports fans are manic depressive. Luckily for us KU fans the mania lasts for long periods. Unfortunately the depression is a deep dark pit of despair from which there is no escape...until the next win.
