I just don't like the off the ball fouls. The offense should have some control of who shoots free throws. If intentional off the ball fouls are allowed it is definitely a legal strategy it's just not very fun to watch (or very sporting and the reason I dog cussed Bill during the game). I just think the d should be forced to move the ball into Dok's hands to be allowed to put him on the line. That or allow him to wrestle anyone who wants to foul him off the ball... Also not good basketball, but it would be more fun to watch than Dok's free throws.
I like it less the clock run off. You shouldn’t be penalized for being fouled.
That or make it to when the team is in the double bonus they can pick the shooter.
I never could figure why you’d pull Dok for fouls unless the other team is in the bonus. I guess if he’s going to foul out in 5 minutes due to frustration he should be pulled, but there is no reason to sit Dok with 2 first half fouls.
@JayHawkFanToo DeSousa’s +/- has got to be horrid. I’d guess (without actually checking) -8 KSU +2 WVU, -4 Baylor, -2 OU. I hope I’m wrong, but that seems about right. He goes in the lead disappears, but it’s not all his fault. This team scores in spurts then sputters.
He looked less homeless when his hair was shorter as a youth.
Our crowd should do the “dirty bird” when Trae is trying to shoot free throws.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a chicken popped up on the court at Manhattan when OU is in town, if they figure out what ornithophobia is.

Why pull Dok for fouls? I’d leave him in as long as the other team wasn’t in the bonus. Once they’re in the bonus it’s pine time big guy.

Kinda need WVU to win. It would be nice if there were 2 really good teams in the Big 12, but WVU is working on imploding.
On an aside; Kentucky dropping out of the top 25 kinda undercuts KU’s earlier win as well.
@JayHawkFanToo That would pretty much be the pre-season AP poll. All hype, all players considered only issue being the inclusion of returning players. However, using that as a measuring stick...rankings early in the season or before the season start are bunk. That includes player rankings for the purpose of projecting team success. It gives you an inkling of an idea, but not what the games tell you.
The games tell me KU has very good players and a very good coach as well. The combination of the two has led to much regular season success and some post season success too. To reach a Saban level of dominance Self must get and retain 5 star players for multiple years at all positions. You need a talent edge as well as great coaching in a one game elimination tournament to eliminate the down game early exits. ie If you can win a tournament game on a bad night you should have a much better chance of winning 6 straight than if you have to play well for 6 straight games.
Triangle and 2 with the 2 on Trae? Nah, I don’t think Trae can beat KU by himself and I wouldn’t want to get OU’s team going. But it would be fun to see on a possession or two to see how he handles it.

@mayjay I’m pretty sure he’s talking about free throws, so less variables and the math does work better. (Unguarded, same distance, same ball, same hoop, all the differences are mental and conditioning)
Substitute Graham in for him...no one will notice. It’s his only chance of improving much this season.
Once again it’s two teams the Chiefs have beaten in the regular season facing off in the Super Bowl.
It’s pretty wild the variance from high to low for the 2017-18 Chiefs.

@BShark I don’t like a roster of 6’9” posts. It’s a recipe for March failure. Especially if it means a roster of 6’6”-6’7” posts in reality. It’s tough to protect the rim without a 6’10’ + post with wingspan, when you have a bunch of freshman guards playing.
Lots of posts next year, but not much size unless Dok comes back.

@chriz OU with Heild got smoked in the final four by the same ‘nova team that knocked off KU in the elite 8. The better team was undoubtedly KU, but OU took advantage of the path they were given.
