Any ideas for streaming the first game? TNT has the broadcast.

Bracket Reveal chat. Sneak preview • Mar 12, 2017 11:32 PM

@BeddieKU23 6 BIg 12 teams, but point taken.

ISU is a head scratcher. Oh, those silly bracket makers!

@HawkChamp Great offensively, but struggles on defense in the final four? Hmm only every one of Roy's teams, but other than that I've got nothing.

Let the firings begin • Mar 12, 2017 01:34 PM

@jaybate-1.0 It is time for someone from the Kansas coaching tree to close the circle and lead Missouri out of the depths

But I don't want one of our coaches to go down for burning Columbia. That's the only way to fix that crap hole.

And I might add, they are getting what they deserve for leaving the Big12 and nearly cratering the conference.

I seriously doubt one of KU's honorable assistants would coach a team that Bill won't even play.

Latest Assembly Call bracket • Mar 11, 2017 02:38 PM

I love how our fans freak when KU loses 1 game. Season's over!!!

And they freak out the other way too. Duke wins one game over UNC and is untouchable. Never mind that they are 4-3 in their last 7 games.

Losses can create room for improvement, but only if one loss doesn't become two. It's a time for introspection and improvement upon what the team thought was a finished product. The NCAA tournament will be KU's time to shine!

@mayjay Not scared. UCLA has a name on their jersey our guys will get up for them. Plus UCLA's D sucks.

@jayballer54 Last year I believe Perry took home the fan vote, but didn't win the award. Will this year be the same with Frank just missing out on the popular vote and winning the award???

Congrats, Frank! • Mar 11, 2017 01:57 PM

Here are some of my favorite dumb comments:

Jakabones

Calipari lands the Harrison Twins last week, and then this week Self lands a former Towson commit with no other major offers? What the heck has happened to Self on the recruiting trail?

Not happy with this commit. Looks like a Milt Doyle Part 2.0.

HighEliteMajor

Top 10 reasons we should put a positive spin on the Mason commitment:

  1. Self knows best.

  2. Barber, Jones, Jackson, Jordan, Peters, et. al., weren't really that good.

  3. Randle must be coming now!

  4. Rankings don't matter.

  5. He's tough .. you know, Chicago tough (but from Virginia).

  6. We have Greene and Frankamp, we can't get ever one we recruit?

  7. We still can get Shepherd ..er, scrap that.

  8. He's a "diamond in the rough" .. special thanks to Jackalope 7 for being the first on this thread. God bless you.

  9. Calipari cheats, so what do you expect?

  10. Heck, he looks good on youtube.

Priest Fontaine

I agree with most of you. Not too excited about this sign but I only hope to get proven wrong. I guess I was just hoping for a bigger guard with more strength and athleticism. It's not the ranking that even bothers me so much.

Selden has become the most important get at this point. I think he would compliment Tharpe and Frankamp much better. Throw in Randle, Gordon, Vonleh, Embiid or Roberson and I think everyone will be all smiles.

KUfanInFlorida

I am really dissapointed with this commitment. I thought Peters was a big possibility especially that he is visiting late night. Shepherd choosing TCU was really strange. Looks like Bill Self is not able to land the top players. Mason was clearly a back up back up back up plan.

And one smart comment:

Andy Tweedy

I don't know how good this kid is, and I don't know how nice this kid is, and I don't know how well this kid will fit in with players already here. But I know one thing, and one thing that makes this kid better than any of those other kids you guys are talking about, ie the twins at UK, the kid that's going to TCU, and all those dudes. This kid was smart enough to choose to spend his college career in the greatest town, at the greatest university, with the greatest fans, with the hottest cheerleaders, with the best college basketball program, on and on and on. That makes me a fan right there! Welcome, Frank!

Latest Assembly Call bracket • Mar 11, 2017 01:29 PM

It now lines up with the CBS bracket I saw last week that I liked. I can't find that bracket anywhere though. Hopefully this is close to right. I'd take UCLA as KU's 2 seed. Maybe I'm delusional, but I think KU'd win in a really fun game.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 11, 2017 12:24 AM

So if TCU beats KSU in the b12 pseudo championship game will there be 7 Big12 teams dancing?!?

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 10, 2017 01:01 AM

34-4

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:53 PM

Just realized JJ will never play a Big12 tourney game. He'll have to work out any post season jitters in the Dance

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:35 PM

@BShark we've seen that for two years now. Some don't recognize the brilliance in his game though.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:30 PM

Offense wins games, defense wins championships.

Without Josh and Landon in the lineup KU has no chance.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:26 PM

The one HUGE positive is Graham is OK. I'd trade any number of Big12 tourney games for that. Turns out it was all of them this year.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:23 PM

@KUSTEVE Bugs the crap out of me. I didn't think KU was going to lose another game. The overall number one seed just went bye bye. And that is worth something. I'm also going to miss the extra attention that being ranked #1 brings. I can never get enough KU bball coverage. Unless it's the Star...

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:13 PM

Josh is apparently pretty freaking important.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:12 PM

Can BIFM add to his legend?!?

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 10:08 PM

Did @stupidmichael have a heart attack this season? Scary

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 09:40 PM

BIFM POY!!!

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 09:30 PM

Looks like Josh isn't the only one taking the game off.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 08:27 PM

Is everyone now aware that KU is short handed? Or is that just a Hanni psa?

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 08:21 PM

Svi for 3, get used to it!

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 07:17 PM

@BShark conserving energy against a lesser opponent I'm sure.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 06:51 PM

@BShark thanks. Now I need to hear the rock chalk chant and/or the bezo Kansas song to get the dang Moana music outta my head! Kids have watched it the last two nights and the tunes are catchy.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 06:47 PM

@BShark that's a good marriage id rather not see happen.

Does it look like the KU game will start on time?

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 09, 2017 06:46 PM

@BShark they'll be shocked when Romo finds a new home too

Josh Suspended For 1 Game • Mar 09, 2017 02:57 PM

Early in the season Josh showed his immaturity in getting T'd up all too frequently. Then you listen to him in the post game reports and he sounds very mature, very collected. Then he crashes a car a panics like an immature kid.

What I see are growing pains. I feel he is maturing, but another year in college would do him wonders in the personal growth area. As a basketball player he is ready for the league.

Michael Beasley was extremely immature according to those who knew him. Unfortunetly with all his talent he was unable to get his head on straight and never flourished. I feel Josh will succeed, but Michael is a precautionary tale.

Don't let this happen Big 12 • Mar 08, 2017 11:51 PM

The Big 12 had a hard timing filling the seats when it's not in KC. I don't look for them to move it beyond OKC or Dallas. I'd also expect 80%of the games to be in KC as its pretty full even for the less markee games.

Half empty arenas are bad optics.

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 08, 2017 09:33 PM

@HawkInMizery sounds fun. Unfortunately I'll be 300 miles away from ya. Enjoy the game and drink one for me!

Next recruit up • Mar 08, 2017 08:20 PM

I don't really care who got in the argument. More I'd like to know what it was about. Eligibility? Work ethic? Dissing his momma? And I'm likely to never know.

Josh Suspended For 1 Game • Mar 08, 2017 06:45 PM

@REHawk I was thinking avoid them altogether!

Josh Suspended For 1 Game • Mar 08, 2017 06:37 PM

@Kcmatt7 nah, not a character issue. he can hire a driver after he's paid. 🤑

Big 12 Tournament of tears • Mar 08, 2017 06:34 PM

@kjayhawks CBS bracket showing its east coast bias with an eastern time zone listing of a central time zone event. I didn't check the times of the other teams. There's only one I truly care about. 1:30 central time is the listed start time. It'll likely be a little late unless the earlier game is a laugher.

Josh Suspended For 1 Game • Mar 08, 2017 04:32 PM

The court date is poor timing. Wish he'd told coach upfront so maybe the date would be different.

Bill is there to help you guys. He may scold you, but he just wants the best outcome.

Obviously these kids need to mature and need help along the way, wish they'd readily accept the help.

KU vs TCU game is on ESPN2 at 1:30pm central time Thursday March 9th

Next recruit up • Mar 08, 2017 03:17 PM

@BShark That worked out well, but what is an assistant getting into an argument with a recruit about anyways? Let alone near signing time. Shouldn't that be the honeymoon period?

Next recruit up • Mar 08, 2017 02:10 PM

@BeddieKU23 Thanks. I remember the name, but his face I didn't know.

@jaybate-1.0 That would be a fun game to watch! I too am confident the good guys would win. One bracket I saw had UCLA as KU's two seed. That'd be alright. Of course we'd have room to complain as they're ranked 3rd and that correlates to a 1 seed even though they could be seeded as low as a 3.

Next recruit up • Mar 08, 2017 01:56 PM

@Statmachine Billy, Duval, and who is the third guy?

I'd like to have that guys friend!

Tornado • Mar 07, 2017 11:07 PM

@wissox flyover state. No one cares about us.

@nuleafjhawk I'm a two hour drive from Clark county, but I can see the smoke plume from here.

Thankfully we have a wonderful helper that has managed to put together a crew of 5 water trucks and a roadgrader to stop the fire on the edge of our heifer pasture. Whew!

Tornado • Mar 07, 2017 09:16 PM

@nuleafjhawk Garner Angus ranch? Very nice stock. I heard their ranch burned down. I believe they are the #1 Angus bull producers in the US

Tornado • Mar 07, 2017 08:20 PM

Unfortunately I have cattle by Ashland. I hope I still have cattle tomorrow.

Engelwood population 76 has burned to the ground.

@jayballer54 Remove the space between the # sign and the number. I think this will clear it up. Also hit enter twice to start a new row when doing lists. Kinda a strange formatting deal.

KU to Italy this Summer • Mar 07, 2017 05:50 PM

@wrwlumpy They don't build 'em like that anymore! Looks like the maintenance crew should be shot.
