No Suspension? Here's What You Get • Mar 04, 2017 10:33 PM

yep, she is bad news. Our players need to consider staying away from girls during their time at KU. It is just a distraction from the main attraction.

Hahahahahhahahahahaha, you have too much faith in personal restraint.

18-23 year old hormone driven, handsome men, in peak physical fitness, whom happen to be the biggest local celebrities; God like in Lawrence... Women and girls throw themselves at them. Of course they aren't going to wait until marriage. Many married men couldn't remain faithful under those circumstances, opportunity creates unavoidable conflict. This is a temptation that 99% of the population will never know. Thank goodness!

Good read • Mar 04, 2017 10:19 PM

@sfbahawk Phil never struggled to win with talent. Spolstra didn't and Kerr is not getting the most out of the talent. It's best of seven series, not the NCAA crapshoot, the most talented team should win if the coach is up to the task.

Haters, wanna challenge our Conference? • Mar 04, 2017 02:26 PM

You really don't have to choose. If you like Uconn so much go to UconnBuckets.com and bragg on them. If all you care about are championships you can even root for their womens team, they haven't lost a game in years.

Personally I'm a KU fan. I don't give a rats ass about any other teams failures or successes. KU's consistency gives me a great season to watch with the possibility of a national championship every year. If KU was only good every few years I wouldn't be disappointed as often in March as I'd expect the losses. But I'd rather be in the hunt every year.

Lunardi predicting No. 1 overall to UNC?! • Mar 04, 2017 01:37 PM

@stoptheflop I forgot about that. More incentives to get the #1 overall seed. I'd hate to end up in Memphis over Chicago... Or in the South instead of the Midwest bracket. Those tourney screwballs.

Lunardi predicting No. 1 overall to UNC?! • Mar 04, 2017 03:41 AM

Gotta stay a little contraversial to get those clicks from people talking/outraged. His bracket seems to change daily. Don't worry it won't look anything like the actual NCAA bracket. We've received the only true preview we'll get and it was fair.

@approxinfinity I interpreted @nuleafjhawk to mean all violent crimes are committed by mankind with hatred in their hearts.

I'm pretty sure I could coach GS lineup to the championship game and I've never coached a game. Easiest job in basketball.

Bracketology • Mar 03, 2017 02:03 PM

@jayballer54 I agree KU'd beat Virginia, but it wouldn't be fun to watch. I'd rather watch KU play against a weaker D team that doesn't plod on offense. Boring, but if that's the game then you better believe I'll be watching!

@Crimsonorblue22 I'm going through Jayhawk bball withdrawal. Saturday can't get here soon enough!

That's just sad.

Couldn't happen to a nicer group of fans.

ANOTHER AMAZING KU STREAK • Mar 01, 2017 10:54 PM

KU has the longest streak of being ranked in the top 25 also.

Embiid • Mar 01, 2017 10:52 PM

I don't know why they didn't go in and clean it up right away. It won't heal itself. All they can do is trim it up so it doesn't rip further.

Tyshawn missed all of a week for his meniscus surgery. I also had a co-worker screw his up (babied it too much and then over did it) and have one turn into two and several months of recovery. So I guess it can go either way.

NEW ASSEMBLY HALL BRACKET • Mar 01, 2017 06:10 PM

@Kcmatt7 I'd rather watch KU beat no D UCLA, by ratcheting up ther own D down the stretch, than see KU play all D Virginia. Those 40-50 games are boring.

NEW ASSEMBLY HALL BRACKET • Mar 01, 2017 02:31 PM

@Kcmatt7 UCLA won at Rupp and beat Arizona. Their resume isn't too shabby as far as signature wins go. The Pac12 isn't the Big12, but a 2 seed seems more appropriate for UCLA at this time. We shall see how they do in the PAC12 tournament.

I shouldn't get worked up over mock brackets the real one never looks anything like the mock brackets. I can guarantee a few head scratchers on seeding.

NEW ASSEMBLY HALL BRACKET • Mar 01, 2017 02:23 PM

It amazes me that #3/2 UCLA is still sitting on the 3 seed line. You'd thing that'd be a team ranked in the double digits.

Also, it is not ideal to keep getting down in games, but they have kept getting down in big games all year and they keep coming back. It is almost their identity now. They are like Freddy Kreuger or Jason. They do the "slow" walk chasing their running victims and always catch up to them at the end.

Like they don't care about the current score. Just that they will be the ones with 80 at the end.

How many can you score when KU decides to play high intensity D at the end against your worn out legs?

Next recruit up • Feb 28, 2017 03:10 PM

First video I've seen of Harvey. Yikes he's not very athletic. 4 year player that would likely be good by his Jr. year.

Next recruit up • Feb 28, 2017 03:03 PM

@mayjay Wiggins is the only player I remember Self lobying for at sr night to come back.

He said McLemore needs to go. He said Oubre needed to go.

I don't think Graham needs to go. I think Graham wants to go. Graham is a joy to watch play and one of my favorite Jayhawks. Unfortunately I don't feel as though Graham is an NBA talent.

Senior Night vs OU • Feb 28, 2017 02:47 PM

@BShark I see. I like KU basketball.

Senior Night vs OU • Feb 28, 2017 02:40 PM

@BShark Why do you watch Wichita? Life is too short.

It's Official - KU #1 • Feb 28, 2017 05:10 AM

KU has beaten 3 of the 5 teams not named KU to be ranked #1 this season. I don't think lack of quality opponents has been an issue.

Senior Night vs OU • Feb 28, 2017 05:08 AM

Graham is so good WSU's best player transferred from KU to get minutes.

Hope he comes back for a sr year to showcase that talent!

Next recruit up • Feb 28, 2017 05:06 AM

Duval, Walker, and Knox would round out the class nicely!

I hope KU lands another impact player, but maybe I'm underestimating whats on campus.

Senior Night vs OU • Feb 28, 2017 04:12 AM

In the second half my ahem 7 year old boy was overly concerned about KU. I told him not to worry that KU would win by 10. I didn't think it'd take a 31-9 run to get there, but what the heck!

Senior Night vs OU • Feb 28, 2017 04:00 AM

Sometimes I think Bragg mascaraded as a top 20 HS baller to get good seats.

@DCHawker I think the team is tight enough without Bill piling on. I believe he's trying to calm them.

Senior Night vs OU • Feb 28, 2017 03:09 AM

Tight. 8-23 shooting won't happen in the second half.

Senior Night vs OU • Feb 28, 2017 03:07 AM

Bump for the man about to make me very happy/sad this evening!

Walton and Pasch • Feb 26, 2017 04:00 PM

The third time I watche the game I didn't find Walton as annoying. Probably because I was just looking for general entertainment at that point and not intently trying to watch a ball game. At that point I could just laugh at him and not get pissed he was ruining a basketball game.

Walton and Pasch • Feb 26, 2017 02:29 PM

There was this kid with downs I went to HS with that sounded an awful lot like Walton. Walton's recall is a bit better, but good grief is he disjointed in thought. Dude is fried!

That Dave character they teamed him up with was not a very good fit either. Sadly for Dave his career is likely tied to the famous guy to his right.

AND THIS IS WHY SVI WILL BE BACK • Feb 25, 2017 07:27 PM

@DoubleDD If he can perform better he's more likely to keep his job is all I'm saying. There isn't much untapped potiental in Devonte'. He isn't going to grow. He isn't going to become more athletic. He relies on speed, a good shot, and fundamentals. All things that get better with experience.

Make him the most experienced guard and he would be the team star with a smile to match! If he leaves now he's at best the third option on his own team.

Which leads to why draft positioning is important. The higher you are drafted the more time you are given to develop.

I want Devonte' to get drafted as high as possible so he has the best chance to stick. Be it after a national title, or after leading the team his senior year. Either way he gets to go out with his draft stock the highest possible.

What I don't want to see is for him to end up in the D league, living on $30K a year, with all that travel and none of the glory of even college. Recently, that sounds all too familiar.

WAY TO GO FRANK • Feb 25, 2017 06:10 PM

@jayballer54 Best actor? Shouldn't that go to Grayson Allen playing innocent?

AND THIS IS WHY SVI WILL BE BACK • Feb 25, 2017 06:08 PM

@DoubleDD The NBA drafts on potiental, but the second contract is where the money is. You only get a second contract if your game is developed enough to stay on the court. So seasoning could potientally make him more money.

Walton and Pasch • Feb 25, 2017 03:23 PM

@Fightsongwriter I've only listened to part of one game, but he wasn't bad, just not very good either. Kinda boring/bland. Definitely no Falkenstein or Davis for that matter. I hope he gets better with time and I hope I don't have to listen much until that time (that's kinda up to Seahan though).

In summary, handled in house.

Burnt Orange Predictions • Feb 25, 2017 02:51 PM

@Statmachine Ironically there are about 4 OSU fans around here. One has been talking trash for a month now saying they're going to beat KU. I can't say anything back because he stutters so badly you can barely understand him. I can't undress him as it wouldn't be fun (or nice college educated or not).

Here's our typical conversation. Warning it hurts to be a part of.

Me, "KU is awesome!"

Him, " mumble mumble OS OS OSU mumble."

Me, "What?"

Him, " KU mumble mumble OSU going to mumble mumble."

Me, "How do you figure?" Rubbing temple as my brain is beginning to hurt.

Him excited now, "O O O OS OS OSU gonna, mumble and mumble the mumble mumble! OS OS OSU gonna mumble mumble KU!!!"

Me looking for the exits,"Uh yeah, I don't see it that way, but we'll just have to wait for the game..." eyes darting around the room.

Him,"mumble mumble O-O-O-O- OS OSU gonna win mumble mumble.

Me,"Ok buddy see you next time." runs for the exit.

I have no clue what he says during those mumbles. He needs subtitles. I'm fairly sure it's not flattering though.
