@wissox Nah. Just took your worst case scenario and ran with it. Really no one cares about Wisconsin football the way their fans do. It’s not a national brand any more than say an Oklahoma State. They really don’t tip the scale. They would fit in nicely in the Big12 - flyover country.

Elmarko hahahaha. Dude just lost his starting job to Furphy. Harris is fine he just needs to pick up the tempo imho. He allows the defense to get set up when he slowly walks the ball up the court, every time. I just wish he could push the pace more to put pressure on the defense, but maybe he doesn’t have the energy to play 38 minutes and there is no good backup option.
@wissox That sounds like a worse case scenario, similar to the thoughts that run thru my mothers head, constantly! - you took the car out with that girl, her older brother tracked you down and hung you from your toes in the woods, so your brother was late to school making him unable to defend your sister against the raging cheerleading captain so she missed the bus because she was crying and her dad had to go get her so we are going to be late to super where he was supposed to meet his boss and therefore we will all be homeless instead of getting a raise. 😝.
I know you know this, but it will be ok. It always works out somehow in the end. My best advice - don’t worry too much about things you can’t control. It’ll eat you alive if you do. Have fun, enjoy the ride. Lance has done more for KU football in a few years than pretty much any coach KU has ever had. I hope he sticks around, but if not I’m glad he set us on the right path.

Running it back doesn’t seem to work anyway. You need roster churn. I really hope they can hold on to Sneed. Chris Jones is fantastic, but the cap space is too limited to give him 30 mil a year. Don’t want to end up in cap hell like the chargers.

KU has beaten #4,5,6. Houston bas not played a top 25 team this year. But they jumped the Jayhawks by winning more convincingly against bad teams. It’s the inverse of the Joel Embiid/Wiggins Jayhawks - they played a ridiculously hard schedule so they were ranked high, even though they lost most of the games against the top competition.

No. That was negotiated in during his holdout. But he also gave up salary to get it. Probably a wash at best (I don’t know the exact numbers).

@Texas-Hawk-10 I still think his best path to the NBA was thru Bill Self. There is a history of developing talent. Udeh is raw, he needs developed. Maybe TCU can do it, but I know Bill could. He just chose the path of least resistance to playing time. Not necessarily the best path to the nba. Time will tell if he develops or not.
And it could prove to be the right path even if he doesn’t develop into an nba talent; at least he can play the last few years he can. The NBA is a tough nut to crack, I don’t know if any of the current Jayhawks will even stick and they are better than him.
AI just needs to get a little better so I can request a live KU broadcast in Max Falkenstein’s voice and speech pattern. With Bob Davis as his partner. I just can’t get past the horrible canned radio announcer voice of the new guy.

Good grief I miss Max and Bob. Back when it didn’t matter who called the game on the tv, because the radio was always on. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals today announced their commitment to remain in Jackson County if Jackson County voters approve an extension of the 3/8-cent sales tax on a ballot initiative this April. The Chiefs and the Royals have partnered with Jackson County for 50 years in a partnership that has worked well for all constituents.
As part of the proposed agreement between the teams and Jackson County, the teams have agreed to provide more than $200 million in new economic benefits to Jackson County over 40 years in a new lease agreement, alleviating the County’s obligation to pay stadium insurance premiums as well as the park levy to the teams. Under the agreement, the Chiefs will conduct an extensive renovation to iconic Arrowhead Stadium. The Royals will build a new downtown stadium and privately fund a $1 billion ballpark district.
The teams have not sought any increase in the existing sales tax and have committed to providing the County with significant additional benefits by:
Paying for insurance coverages for their respective facilities – costs currently paid by the County – for the extension term of the Chiefs’ lease and new term of the Royals’ lease. This will result in a cost savings to the County of approximately $80 million to $100 million over the course of the extended and new term of the leases.
Providing the County the ability to reallocate each team’s share of an existing park property tax for other County uses for the extension term of the Chiefs’ lease and new term of the Royals’ lease. This will allow the County to utilize approximately $140 million for other County purposes over the course of the extended and new term of the leases.
The teams are committed to entering into a robust community benefits agreement similar to agreements provided by other NFL and MLB teams for other venues providing for various initiatives that will benefit the citizens of Jackson County.
The teams are appreciative of the City’s efforts to provide assistance and development structures that will also facilitate these exciting projects. These efforts are also contemplated to specifically benefit the County.
The partnership between Jackson County, the Chiefs and Royals has been a tremendous success over the past 50 years, and directly responsible for much of the great momentum our hometown has built. The framework described here is a significant financial benefit for Jackson County, collaboratively built around concerns expressed by the County Executive and other local leaders, and provides a further boost to Kansas City and the region for decades to come.

@kjayhawks Girls HS bball, I’ve seen teams with 5 players like @wissox described. On the flip side - There was one girl on our HS team that ended up getting drafted into the WNBA, they didn’t lose a single game for 3 years - all because of one player. Some games the other team could not advance the ball past half court because she would keep stealing it.

@stoptheflop All I can figure is this is the way they will play the tournament, so they had best get ready for it. Conditioning and playing thru fouls is something they need to figure out. The good thing is the media timeouts are plentiful and helps a short bench in the ncaa tournament.
A short bench will likely lead to a loss in the Big12 tournament with the games back to back to back. That refocusing/reflecting time after a late season loss is something a lot clamor for.
I’d like to win them all, but the last game in April is the one that really sticks with you, so do what it takes even if it leads to a mass exodus. Developing talent in the portal/NIL era is for the mid majors with the exception of a handful of loyal dedicated guys like KJ and hopefully Elmarko - time will tell.
My main issue with Mecole is something he can’t help - his pick should’ve been used on DK Metcalf. I was beside myself when they passed on that physical specimen. DK hasn’t disappointed either.
I would’ve taken head case Pickens over Skyy Moore too, but that looks like it would be worse. Pickens is a talented fellow, but doesn’t appear to be near the good teammate that Skyy is.

Mecole has had 2 injuries that have limited his time in KC in 4.5 years. A mangled thumb and a horrible core injury that required surgery that he tried to return from too soon last year. It’s not like he’s Hammy Watkins with constant soft tissue issues.
