@rockchalkjayhawk Ugg even a minor shoulder surgery absolutely sucks. Extremely painful and long recovery.
@HoraceZontal No championship in ‘08 without Darrell’s quiet 20 point night.
@wissox said in Other Football Games of Interest:
@dylans 'we', ie Wisconsin plays them week after next. I thought 'we'd get waxed by about 60 but thinking it will be more like 35-14 type of game instead! Still a loss but not an embarrassment.
Close. Nostradamus
For me, I’d put Keith Freeze at number 3 and I’m not even counting that he paid for Wesley to attend KU.
I’m afraid that’s so @kjayhawks
@AsadZ The Royal late schedule it pretty tough.
The football in the Big12 has gone from pretty dang solid to mid-major level, so maybe KU can finish above .500.
No Collins, no championship in ‘08. Makes him number one from this list for me. Mason was more productive, but results matter.
Worthy has a dislocated shoulder and has the dreaded day to day designation.
The D-line didn’t apply any pressure and I could have hit most of those throws the receivers were so open. It was pathetic the coverage that Chamari Conners (and others) provided. Why can’t Chiefs receivers get any separation?!? (Nagy sucks!!!)

@dylans i dont think anyone here would blame him for going for it. It was the right choice.
I ~~didn’t~~ never watch the KU football game. But reading this it is 100% stereotypical fan reactions.
The Chiefs fan site is hilariously stereotypical following their loss as well. (I did watch that shit show.) - it’s the refs - with numerous examples. It’s Spags - with numerous examples of the defense not being ready. It’s Reid - with numerous examples of the offense not performing except in dink and dunk passes. Kelce - too old. Mahomes - too many commercials. Etc.
I’d just say the Chargers came ready to play and whooped the Chiefs. That the Chiefs didn’t come ready to play and it cost them a game. The Chiefs should get better when their top two receivers get back. Spags defense takes times to coalesce- usually around 4-5 games to come together.
Fans gonna fan
If they fail the 4th down conversion, Lance is a failure for not trusting the defense. If he punts, Lance is a failure for not trusting the offense. If they go for it and get it, Lance is a genius. 🤷♂️
@wissox Not sure - in the last Chiefs game McConkey intentionally swapped a fumble out of bounds - it was a 10 yard penalty. If it was batted into the end zone I’m guessing it’s a safety.
@Crimsonorblue22 1 game out of the wild card spot now!
Wide open Chargers WRs all game long and hardly any separation from the Chiefs WRs. Not a good looking team so far.

@rockchalkjayhawk I’m traveling this weekend (going to Jamaica for our anniversary) - I really hope I can watch the game live, but if not I’ll be looking for the replay with you!
@rockchalkjayhawk Does it require a subscription or just a conflict?
@drgnslayr said in KU Roster for 25-26:
I am hopeful for a team very improved over last year's team. First, we will immediately experience a team with a lot more athleticism. That doesn't always translate into victories, but I look back on last year's team and how Harris and Dickinson looked anemic (along with defensive anemia from Storr, Mayo, and Griffen). I think DP will be the key and it is my opinion he is figuring out how to make other players better. Flory will be a beast, especially since his minutes won't just be an afterthought. Part of our offense will be building offense around Flory. All his attention will just light him on fire with enthusiasm. My only worries are foul trouble, though he will have more weakside and on-ball defense support this year.
We are due for a good "chip year!" No more lofty, silly preseason #1 ranking!
I just hope they are entertaining/fun to watch. Last year sucked. At least be entertaining and act like you care/want to be there and that’ll be a big improvement. - this team isn’t sniffing winning the league, hopefully they will be fun to watch before they all leave and it’s a mostly new roster next year. 🤢

@dylans Flory is going to have a Joel Embiid year.
Ugg show flashes and then get hurt before March madness? I wish he had Embiid’s potential, but he doesn’t. Too small and not skilled enough. He could be a very good college player if he puts in the work, but will never be an NBA MVP due to genetics.

I don't blame people for being a little low on this team given the history of the last 2 seasons. But this is a totally new team built around a great NBA prospect with athletes all across the board. As you said, we'll get an idea of whether or not they should be ranked higher earlier with the non conference schedule
Unfortunately that describes 1/2 the schedule. This Kansas roster is a bit weak - looks like a middle of the pack to top 1/3 of the Big12 team. Definitely won’t out talent many teams.
FSU was fined 50k for storming the field. It would be cool to get enough Jayhawk fans in attendance at Missouri or somewhere on the road to storm a road game field and get them fined, adding insult to injury. 😂
6th ranked Big12 team seems about right. I hope this squad can end the year ranked. Tough road ahead; hopefully they over achieve. 7 potentially ranked teams on the schedule gives the Jayhawks plenty of opportunity to prove themselves!
Listening to Alabama fans absolutely melt down on the radio is hilarious. Reality is setting in, in a hard way.
@nuleafjhawk There are a lot of unranked teams that didn’t get mentioned and it’s not like KU is a football hotbed. Generally I’d prefer to keep Kansas football out of the headlines, it’s typically meant something like a linemen got stuck in the drive thru window at Taco Bell. Let them ride under the radar until they whoop mizery, then they’ll see what’s brewing in Lawrence.
Chenowith?
Number one Texas didn’t last long at the top.

Prison Mitch was up there
That’s the low skill white guy I was thinking of. All hustle team.
Dallas should trade Amari Cooper and Dak. They definitely are not in win now mode.
TJ Pugh #2?
@rockchalkjayhawk No free agents, since training camp started, have been added to the 53 man roster. Just some scrubs to the practice squad.
@rockchalkjayhawk Billy Thomas, Svi, Graham
Became a fan in ‘89. Just missed him.
@rockchalkjayhawk Practice squad. He should never play.
Good moves by Veach getting handshake deals done with the vets and stashing them on the practice squad - Pennel and Tonyan. Bottom end of the roster guys rarely move the needle, but Pennel has come up big before.
Correction - Pennel is not signed. Mike Edwards was.
CEH on the practice squad it sounds like. Not the RB I was expecting to be added to the roster. Good guy, ok half back.
@nuleafjhawk said in The ever changing landscape of TV sports:
@wissox FM Radio. Until they start charging for that too.
If it was Max Falkenstein or Bob Davis I’d even consider paying for radio!
Yeah sports fans are some of the worst people on the internet - just horrible that they can only think about themselves and not the athlete that is suffering way more. KU “fans” are not any better, it’s gross how people act on the internet with anonymity.
Never cancelled, so the package is still $14.99. If they offer up an option to get ESPN without having to get sling that is awesome.
For those that don’t want to pay as much you can use
it will have every game for every team you care about not to mention all the teams you don’t care about. $130 per year - now can we complain about the team instead of the price of tv? For comparison the least expensive single season ticket is around $1,500 and the seats are in the rafters. No way college basketball is worth that in the NIL/pirate free agency era, so I will pay as little as possible into the machine - thus Uzzu
I never understood the desire to watch your team play in a cool destination - I usually don’t watch any tv when traveling, much less go to a game.
All I know about the KSU game is a bunch of people I know went - a cousin, my niece, my old bosses kid, and several other KSU fans. It sounds like they all had a blast in Dublin (up until the game of course). What a cool experience, especially for my niece who got to go with the band. She’ll remember that trip for a lifetime. Not the game, the trip.
Half time 24-7 good guys. Nice!
@rockchalkjayhawk Travis Etienne is one rumor. He’d be a nice compliment to what they have.
@stoptheflop Keep those crimson and blue spectacles on!

Replacing the beer garden, our stadium now has 4 clubs: leaving off the naming rights, they are the Limestone Club, Jayhawk Club, 1921 Field Club and the Patio. There are 2200 seats in the clubs and 800 seats in the 40 Suites. Sales of the premium seats have been much better than estimated by millions of dollars. I have to change my mindset of sitting in decent seats(between the goal line and 20 yd line) for the lowest price. Attending a sporting event now is more about the overall experience with actual cost just a momentary distraction.
I’ve found my couch is a superior experience 99% of the time. Better view than the best seats in any stadium. Company is more intelligent. Price is right too. I’d still go if it was closer - as for the price yikes it’s around $1,000 per decent ticket (first 10 rows behind the bench/good game) to see the Chiefs. Not sure about the minor league (ncaa) pricing.
Ari Wolf’s voice is that of a cartoon dork. Strange to hear during an nfl football game.
Bye bye Skyy. 49ers 2027 6th round pick for Skyy Moore + the Chiefs 2027 7th round pick. I’m kind of surprised they were able to get anything for him, he appeared to be the odd man out in a crowded receiver room.
No Mahomes on offense shows just how valuable he is to the team. Yikes the roster has some major holes - Patrick just covers up so many deficiencies.
Getting something on tape gets some fringe roster guys a spot too. May not be on the team they’re currently playing for, but exposure is good. …The games are crap though.
@nuleafjhawk More importantly it makes for bad football watching! 😝
Does Seattle pump in crowd noise? It sounds manufactured, soulless.
The eye in the sky making measurements is fine and dandy, but it doesn’t fix the bad spot.
@wissox Don’t let facts get in the way of a good fantasy
