Let me guess. I’m assuming you’re fairly young - less than 35 and recently married. You switched jobs a few years back, which implies you’re not a legacy so name recognition is out for pay bumps. Also you had to switch jobs to get a pay raise so you’re not at the top of the pay scale. Average accountant salaries are about 55k, I assume you’re good at your job and earn 6 figures. You work for someone; not self employed , but that caps Income. Your moniker implies you may be in the KC Kansas area, if so less than 8% of households make 200k per year. Given your stance on overcoming adversity I figure you’d last until it got hot in July at best. 3-4 months pay at 16k per month I can handle. But you’d have to be in the top 5% performance wise to command that level of pay. Let me know if you’re interested and qualified.

UConn is good, but they don’t do much for me. Not a game I’m really interested in. Really the only game of mass appeal would be the KU v UK game. The rest if I wasn’t a KU fan would be marginal games at best. I’m curious how a non-KU fan would see it, maybe I underestimate the draw of KU to non-fans.

For KC area KU fans I’d guess the KU v MU game would be the mountain top.

The new conference teams kinda water things down from this fan’s perspective. I have no feelings either way about byu, Houston, cinci or rando Florida team. They definitely don’t get the competitive juices flowing - I would not like the scheduling if that was the non-con slate, but you’re stuck with the conference teams.

Texas getting the SEC bump already. Jj Lol. They beat Alabama who’s right next to god (just ask) so Texas must be a top contender! It’s a lot like the rating bump teams get for beating KU men’s basketball team. Texas is appropriately ranked for this week with these results so far.

I really don't blame Udeh at all. The reality is that there were going to be 10 minutes to compete for at KU (potentially for two years). Or 25-30 somewhere else. I do agree it is unfortunate he stayed in conference because we know what he could become. Everyone is only mad because he's got the potential to be really, really good lol.

The transfer portal is a huge reason that KU Football is where it is at today. Do we think our transfers are a big bunch of wusses who ran away from adversity? Or did they not feel like their previous school was giving them the best opportunity to showcase their talents? Why would we want Gage Keys or Craig Young? Not sure about your company, but mine did hire new people every year in my position. - I outworked them all and run the company now. You have stated time and again you do not like adversity to overcome. Switch jobs when it gets hard - “keeping you nose to the grindstone is a republican lie” KCMatt. I would not hire you, but I understand where you come from.

@MR11 That irritates me about Udeh. I guess the proposition of having to earn minutes ran him off. And if that little bit of adversity was all it took to run him off, I massively misread the guy (thus the irritation at myself). I genuinely thought he would be a player you could build a team around by his Jr. year. If Hunter is really all it took to run him off, I doubt he reaches the potential I thought he had. -maybe that’s just my bad talent evaluation, but I really though Udeh was going to be great.

Add UNC to conference on a home and home yearly basis and you’ll add this butt to the stands!

@wissox FWIW #1 pre-season ranking by every reputable ranking system -according to the last espn article I read.

I think many of us were less than impressed with this decision from day one. Too troubled. I appreciate wanting to help people, but hedge your bet.

The floor on the dorm I lived in (McCullum) was co-ed. GSP (girls state prison as they called it) was girls only and fairly strict. I have no idea what McCarthey is, but no dorm can be basketball players only. There must be a minimum % of non-athletes that can live there as well.

Too late for me - the score isn’t encouraging. Where there some bright points? Reading the comments it sounds like the run game was good.

2nd chances are necessary- everyone makes mistakes to some degree. Third chances however are not for this level of stupidity. The only way I see him back on the team is if he’s proven innocent - not witness intimidation or buy offs. Flat out innocence. But that’s applying my morals to a situation that the staff felt differently about initially as well.

@kjayhawks - unless KU is playing I have never watched a single KSU game. I leave the room if others have the game on. It’s like watching paint dry boring af.

Deion is interesting. Turned that roster over in a year. He’s also brash and many want to watch him fail. Hate watching is real too. I hope he does well, it’s good for the future big12.

Ehh. Tyreek is a piece of shit. Wish he was more of an exception is more my point. Football doesn’t attract the best people. Rosters are huge - some are good people, too many aren’t.

Football players as a general rule attract aggressive people, so it never surprises me when one gets in a little trouble with the law. - Hard to overcome the football player-rapist stigma.

PAC worst football conference the last few years. No one watches their super late games - makes it hard to recruit or stir national interest. You’d think they would be under ranked and roll in bowl games with the lack of exposure.

@mayjay Not thrilled about restructuring Thuney’s enormous contract (the contract that I feel is 70% of the reason for tyreek Hill’s departure). Like the player. Don’t like that much of the cap tied up in a guard.

@nuleafjhawk Andy Reid’s pre-season camp at St Joes is notoriously difficult. It’s not lack of preparation. - preseason games have fringe guys flying around trying to make a roster. I’m fine with the way it went down. Toney had knee surgery after getting injured the first day of training camp. He will improve. Skyy Moore I’m concerned about. - Veach needs to figure out how to draft a quality WR quickly.

@wissox I was really looking forward to watching our twin tower sophomores develop. Zuby and Udeh would’ve been fierce juniors! (No sr season after winning the championship and jumping to the pros a year early) lol

@AsadZ He should not have been on the field, but timing doesn’t have much to do with (3) drops. Just a horrid game. I’m not mad a Veach for the 3rd and 6th round picks, what Toney did in the SB was worth the picks alone.

Sounds like he limped off the field - a positive sign. Early in the season and the wr are unproven, this will be a great opportunity for someone to earn Mahomes trust.

8 - you brought up disappointment and KU football in the same sentence as if you have reasonable expectations of success. Love it. Lance has done a great job building the hype around the program. They appear to be on the right track, but it’s a long ways to go. - the main reason very few where here during the game, it’s a basketball forum.

Witt jr only needs 3 more hr for a 30/30 season.
