Chiefs season long game thread • Oct 23, 2023 04:37 PM

MVS saying the receivers stepped up this game and put up 31 points. Umm the receivers had 13 receptions for 178 yards. Kelce had 12 receptions for 179. šŸ˜‚ Kelce is the man!

My Cherokee friends wear Redskins hats because it has an Indian on it and they think it’s awesome- his full blooded grandad is buried in a redskin hat. That is a term I think most folks find offensive, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why Chief would bother anyone. Survivors guilt? Would rather whitewash history and get rid of all references to native Americans than face facts that they were massacred? It’s an opportunity to educate - there is a Native American history museum at arrowhead. The team gets the blessing of local tribes for warhorse and the drum.

There are almost zero references to native Americans in pop culture. Outside of sports there is very little reference to Native Americans in current culture - Yellowstone doesn’t exactly paint them in a good light - money grubbing, covetous, casino owners.

Change the name, remove the museum and let’s forget that those poor sad native Americans ever existed. It’s easier on white people that way - the ostrich approach.

@AsadZ It is disappointing, but they must not have seen much from him to waive him over Herring or Dickson.

Toney is doing better, I'd put that pass of his in the trash!🤯 We seem to have trouble with short yardage gains. Playing calling in the red zone, short shortage plays?

Toney is not meeting expectations. I thought he would be a serviceable receiver not just a gadget player. Chiefs talked him up as a true number one receiver. Maybe he’ll improve, but I think Rice is the guy now.

Andy is not meeting my expectations either! Why in the hell does he keep taking the ball out of the best player in football hands on fourth down? Toney should not be forced into making an option read. Toney should never pass the ball. And Gray should not have to make a 2.5 yard tush push behind a 210 long snapper when you have creed Humphrey on the sideline.

Silly stuff, but still covered because of that amazing defense! Wow have they stepped up this year!!!

Oh look at that. Video of the game that never happened. Boy these people on the internet sure can make them boys look real these days. That trophy looks awful real too. Any idea how they did that video? Very impressive stuff

Lance Armstrong won a bunch of races too. It’s just not a good look imo. It’s a big reason why wooden didn’t get the respect that his titles should bring too. Yeah it happened and I enjoyed the games. Devonte deserves better. Wish it was more on the up and up.

Yeah. I ā€˜member that.

@Gorilla72 Billy never played. So no wins to vacate if that was the case.

@FarmerJayhawk Silvio is the guy who got caught. He’s the symbol representing the downfall. He may have had no clue, but it’s still him that the documents reference.

I really have no defense for the school - I’m not a bit mad a Silvio. I’m mad at Bill for allowing the news the last 7 days happen. I’m also extremely happy with most of the on court results. I guess I can’t be too mad at Bill, even if cheating is the way he chose to win. I know now and can no longer sit with my head in the sand; I have to reconcile what I know to be right and the way things are. I hate to join the axis of evil and think it’s ok to skirt the rules of the ncaa and society both for the sake of athletic glory like Kentucky duke Alabama Texas Georgia etc.

IARP update • Oct 11, 2023 07:34 PM

Disgrace. Disappointment. Sad. Embarrassment. That’s how I feel about KU right now. Silvio wwe desosa costs KU a 14 year streak that took scores of talented players to put together. Consistent dominance like never seen before wiped out because of cheating. KU has admitted and is convicted of cheating add to that Arterio Morris forcefully raping someone and it’s kinda like being a bill cosby fan. It was fun/funny at the time, but now when you know it’s pretty yucky.

IARP update • Oct 11, 2023 07:09 PM

No 14 conference win streak. No final 4. Behind Kentucky in wins.

The only punishment I did not want to see was vacated wins. Damn

IARP update • Oct 11, 2023 05:38 PM

I hope KU kept fighting for no vacated wins. Imagine if Duke had to vacate all the games Zion played in. Or Kentucky the games that the 200k unibrow played in.

Chiefs signings • Oct 10, 2023 09:55 PM

@AsadZ Could’ve had Claypool for a 6th and got a 7th back. I don’t think I would trade anything for Hardman…unless they want Clyde. šŸ˜‚ Hardman and Mahomes never had that good of chemistry.

Gonzaga has no football. Under no circumstance should they get a full slice of the pie at any date.

He had me annoyed today but I really do think Shanahan is perhaps the best in the league. Love that offensive system.

It’s much easier with a good qb on a rookie contract - lots of weapons.

With my work obligations I wasn’t able to watch any of this unfortunately. Best way to keep the pressure off Bean is to run the ball with such efficiency. Always fun to wear a KU hat in Aggieville when KU has a better record in football. Only one guy tried to fight me lol. I tell you this folks, they are scared KU could beat them this season being in town after this weekends events.

There is a replay available on fox sports app. (I missed it live as well)

Say Goodnight to the Knights • Oct 08, 2023 04:21 AM

Bean looked great today!

Myron Medcalf Disrespecting Kansas Basketball • Oct 07, 2023 02:12 PM

@wissox That ā€˜97 team should’ve went undefeated. What could’ve been.

I’d rate ā€˜20 over ā€˜22 too.

Say Goodnight to the Knights • Oct 07, 2023 02:02 PM

The team goes as the QB goes. With Daniels this team could be special, just like when Reesing was QB. But it’s no different than any other team - the Chiefs would suck without Mahomes.

whats up with our Espn late night feed ? • Oct 07, 2023 01:59 PM

@FarmerJayhawk said in whats up with our Espn late night feed ?:

@dylans I always enjoyed it as a student and it was great last year. But this offseason plus the PR trip and I’m just bleh

I didn’t miss a home game, but I only went to late night once as a student. Kirk Hinrich in a dress is not for me.

I did tune in last night for about 10 minutes it happened to be during the scrimmage - it was pretty bad. I enjoyed listening to Self get passionate (pissed), but that was about it. Sloppy, backyard ball. Not anything like what we will see in season.

Can’t wait! Bring on real basketball!!!

whats up with our Espn late night feed ? • Oct 07, 2023 01:24 AM

@FarmerJayhawk Late Night kinda is boring esp compared to the PR trip. I like basketball not skits.

The future of sports broadcasting? • Oct 04, 2023 04:27 PM

@wissox It’s not as hard as you make it. There are even apps to manage it - I prefer the wifey app - I say honey please cancel the ESPN subscription and its done lol

Also I find older folks watch way more tv than middle age people. I really hope the idiot box isn’t the main attraction of my retirement. Ugg Kids and their iPads will make sure cable is a thing of the past. Mine don’t watch anything live, why would you? - suffer thru commercials, watch something that takes more than 5 minutes, listen to someone talk about anything other than Minecraft?

Myron Medcalf Disrespecting Kansas Basketball • Oct 04, 2023 01:30 PM

Myron Metcalf really only has one article a year that he’s know for. He’s got to grab attention somehow to remain relevant. - hack

The future of sports broadcasting? • Oct 04, 2023 01:28 PM

I’d rather pay the $5/10 a month for ESPN+ than $100+ for cable. - actually I believe it’s $15 but includes Hulu and Disney+, I rarely watch live tv outside of KU basketball and KC Chiefs football, so it’s good from me and my kiddos. Streaming saves me $1000 a year - could actually fund a trip to see KU basketball live with that much in savings if it weren’t already blown on inflation.

@BeddieKU23 There are holes in the roster and warts will show for sure. I think they should be competitive every night though as long as the effort is there both by the players and coaches. But I don’t really know enough about the current roster to say anything with 100% certainty. We’ll know more by conference.

Myron Medcalf Disrespecting Kansas Basketball • Oct 03, 2023 05:27 PM

@BeddieKU23 What’s your definition of chode? Around these parts it’s synonymous with taint or abc if you prefer. Nebraskans call it chode when a certain appendage is bigger around than long. And I’m sure there are others, thus my curiosity.

@BeddieKU23
Pretty much any other school not named duke or Kentucky is worried about their #3-5 starters not just depth. Were spoiled.

@BeddieKU23 which part don’t you understand/like about the roster construction? - Bill ran off the less talented players and the ones who did not want to fight for minutes ran with their tail between their legs. Then it seemed like take any talented player that wants to show up. I feel like Udeh and Zuby both leaving was an unexpected problem. The guards recruited should be adequate, would’ve been better with someone of Morris talent on the bench. - preseason #1 can’t be all bad!

I don’t like the idea of transfers. I don’t like the roster churn, but it is what it is.

Sounds like KU has a decent chance at Flagg and is in less than optimal position with McNeeley. Any chance they want to continue to play together?

Congrats to Central Florida for their impending first B12 win against a real Big 12 opponent Baylor. BYU got their first win, but against a fellow interloper Cincy last night. By the way apparently Central Florida gets irked being called that so henceforth on these pages, although it's easier to type UCF, they will be Central Florida.

@kjayhawks
Season tickets cost less now than they used to. There are multiple tiers - maybe they could not/did not want to pay the ā€œdonationā€ to get in the tier they wanted. Decent seats requires around $2k Williams fund donation + 1800 per seat if memory serves correct. Just to get in the door is $100 donation + $500? I think (maybe it’s $900) per seat for corner bleacher seats.
