Yup. I never even boo’d KU football in all my years at KU even when they’d be down 40 at half. They’re college kids and I’m just a rando in the stands

seems like some fan that have no class. - maybe you all can stay at home and boo the Tv while your eating your hoagie. - Anyone that Boos' these kids or any College basketball players has no place in the game/at the game.

My guess would be everyone that boo's these kids are probably are all former NBA all stars

I think what you really need to do is flip that statement about basketball IQ to the one's would show their ass and Boo at these kids - -these people probably have no IQ period basketball or not. - - -Sure everyone can be upset - -can be PO'D - but to boo kids - take that crap out of here - -Baylor just a better team -- at this point and time anyways,

@Woodrow Baylor's half-court sets have pretty much consisted of iso-plays leading to pull-up 3's or dishes for lay-ups. I haven't been overly impressed with any of the action Baylor has ran other than a good baseline lob out of a timeout.

Mostly I think Baylor's dudes have just played their ass off today and wanted it more than we did. I guess credit coach for that, but I don't think Drew has been masterminding this game.

they did today the same thing they have been doing all year. - -This makes 5 wins over top 25 teams for them - the last two for sure on the other teams floor.

Say what you want - -Baylor is a very legit team - Solid

Yeah, I don't get the constant sniping. He's done pretty well - and consistently so - with relatively little NBA level talent. His guys seem to play hard.

there is just some people just flat refuse to give any credit. - - He is not that bad of a Coach. People talk about how Bill owns Drew , like I said at the time ya their right just like Jay Wright owns Bill.

You move on to the next game and try to get them next time. - -We have got to just get better handling the ball - I mean we got taken to the shed. - -true we hurt our selves but Baylor just has better guards, that showed today - Butler is legit - - Mitchell is good - - Teague is good. - look at the difference, how many turnovers did we have today ? - -How many turnovers did Baylor have today? - - TO'S will Kill you sloppy - yet people will make every excuse they can other then the real excuse. - We just got our ass handed to us almost the entire game - -I said ALMOST - -sloppy handling of the ball & poor 3 point shooting really bad combination

Well, dont need to waste my day watching this garbage.

Congratulations "baller" , yo boy Drew is indeed the greatest coach in the history of the universe.

one LITTLE minor problem - -hasn't got a dam thing to do with coaching. - -Baylor has a team that knows how to take care of the ball - -and sory your getting your tootsie's stepped on thinking Drew is as you say quote " MY BOY " - -get that shit out of here. love it when people try to make up every excuse they can other then the real excuse when a team is getting beat. - Bottom line is this fricken team doesn't have anyone who can take care of the ball with out turning it over.

This is exactly what they said they was going to do - - pressure our guards on the perimeter. - The 1st time any team pressures our guards they lay an egg like the ball is a plague. - it has nothing to do with Coaching if you truly are watching the game. - It's more about our lack of execution then any Coaching thing - but thanks for the laughs

I always wonder if KU will choose to guard Baylor's best 3 point shooters, Butler 35/87, 40% and Bandoo 17/40, 42%, or just hope they miss. Teague is also a threat: 28/81, 34%. Big 12 guards don't seem to be intimidated playing in AFH at all. Oh Lordy, this is going to be a nervous game for me.

then you also have to ad Meyer that comes off the Bench

Baylor Bears - Saturday - Noon - CBS • Jan 11, 2020 03:06 PM

Well just thought I would pass on statement/tidbits I heard of the Baylor podcast this morning, found SOME things pretty interesting, see what you think : So ,
First they was talking with Jarod Butler saying they had heard him say that how it really bothers him about them never winning here at the Phog - -we he says ya it has how they have kind of had this game circled on their Calendar.

What they're media people/people who call they're games and such they thought Baylor would be testing KU'S depth. they feel like once they get past McCormack & Moss off the bench they just don't trust KU'S depth. - - Really ? hmmmmm, No mention of umm Christian what so ever.

They say that got a lot of confidence if KU plays two Big's that they will be able to offense that with Bamba & Clark. They said Devon Dotson is very talented, & though Mitchell would be matched against him , talking about how Mitchell has really been able to defend other teams best players. Talking about they think Mitchell can be Physical with Dotson and may cause Dotson problems, they seem to be worried more about Oachi -- really talking up how they like Mitchell against Devon.

One thing they did say about how talented KU is that they said that Ku other then Duke is the ONLY team in College Basketball that is in the top 11 both in Offensive & Defense effiecency I know not spelt right sorry.

They think Baylor's depth gives Baylor a decided advantage, They also made a very sweet statement ( cough cough ) one of them said was just curious how Coach Self would be if he didn't cheat. - - If he didn't pay players, but then turned right around and talked about they thought Self was still a really good Coach.

They thought that the matchup that they thought could come down to deciding the game very well might be will be Oachi and Teague, they might not be to far off on that. Also talked about that if they can turn KU over about 15-20 times they ha a very good shot at winning and how wll they pressure the ball on the perimeter , of course they brought up how we turned it over 28 times against Duke, what they DIDN'T mention was that was the 1st game of the year and we still about had them.

Scott Drew said not very often you get to showcase two top five teams, and very seldom that you have a team that has BOTH great Guard play and inside play and said KU has that. Drew also would come big into play saying they can't give up 2nd chance points , and fast break points. - saying their losing streak has to and will come to and end some time - -might as well be this year - can't turn the ball over. - -So there you go guys interesting. -- not ONCE did these give or spill ONE word out of their mouth about Braun hey are more worried about Moss and Garrett.

Not sure what Lawrence got but down here in SE Kansas the roads are a sheet of ice. Be careful out there my friends!!

Just heard the local weather here on the TV out of Topeka. It is snowing here right now at 8:40 this morning -- not hard and really only expecting now maybe up to 2inches here at the most. Looking at the map Lawrence is right there on the edge in between up to 2inches and then the 2-5 inch mark

They were saying right now at this point the roads aren't to bad aas they had done a pretty good job treating, but saying with this new snow, just advise to take a few extra minutes.

I hope this doesn't effect the crowd to much. - This is a HUGE game and the players need that vocal support , just hoping for the best. - Kind of worried that maybe even Season ticket holders just say screw it. @jayballer73 You know I agree with you on the risk. Regardless of some who minimize it, the volatility with the NCAA stuff creates a very heightened risk.

We can attract an excellent coach. But that is even a riskier proposition. Odds are really strong in my opinion that we get something less than Self.

Do we trust Long to make the right hire? I don’t. He could have some personal tie to a coach that could send the program in a tailspin. The KU admin. could push the wrong “diversity” hire. Even the perceived right hire could be wrong. I think Beard from TT would be perfect. But I thought EJ would be a lights out PG too. Point is, sometimes things we really believe don’t play out the way we expected. We could hire Beard and his wife hates it here, or one of his kids becomes ill, or he clashes with the AD. Whatever.

This is very dangerous business.

Great programs can become average quickly. Remember when UNC made some bad hires before Roy? Bill Guthridge and Matt Doherty? Doherty hovered just above .500.

Look where UCLA and Indiana have gone. Look where UK went before Cal. And the UNC reference before Roy. All blue bloods. Look at UConn now.

Self is the greatest coach in KU history. This entire NCAA stuff and it’s possible impact is really unnerving. We don’t want to lose Self at pretty much any cost, in my opinion.

Odds are strong, that if we do lose Self, we move backwards.

We very well could. If it comes to that point where we having to find another Coach , could be a crap shoot for sure. Beard is good , my only thing with him and it might be a crazy thought , but I just don't get that feel where he would stick that long, more of a jumper , then again on the other hand might not if that were to come to a reality.

I mean really not a lot of other more elite places he could go where it would be a step up after KU. - I just feel there are some that just have this idea , the Earth would explode before Coach were to leave/ While true it would be a sad day, still doesn't mean it couldn't happen - -happen more easily then some seem to believe. - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

We have a long, fast athletic team and players who have bought in to playing defense. We also have a catalyst in Marcus.

I'm not ready to give them a defensive trophy yet. They still have a ways to go. They still don't smother like a Nova team. If they did that, no one in this country could beat us or even come close because they wouldn't score more than 40 pts.

To get to that level, we still need to bump it up a gear. I hope we get there by March.

Last night was more of a show of where ISU is this year. A weak team up to now. That explains winning at a 50% clip.

This team will definitely expose all opponents who are weak. I think we get a bump because other teams respect us a bit too much. And to the naked eye, we just look flat out amazing from a size and athletic view. But take last night for example... ISU still launched up plenty of trey shots that didn't fall and weren't contested. This is where we received too much respect. Those shooters were thinking less about netting the shot and more about a KU defender coming in from blind side to smoke their shots.

I don't want to appear negative, because I'm not. I'm happy where we are in January but I'm realistic to think we still aren't a Final Four team yet not only because of offense having kinks. Let's just hope we continue to improve at this rate. We will get there!

I like that they didn't let up, like in years past. They put their foot on the throat and left it there.

me too Marco , in some years past we have had teams that couldn't finish. - -I've always believed when you have them down , go for the throat - make sure they know they have no chance of winning the game - - close it out

Call me crazy but I think Doke will be have a solid 5-10 year career in the NBA if he stays healthy. Hands down the B12 player that everyone other team's players would like on their team. Perfect inside guy for 4-1 offenses. So, he can't shoot outside 8 feet, but who'd need him to? All he needs to be is a rim protector, rebounder, screen setter and dunk machine. Is Embiid going to try to guard him in the paint for lobs? LOL... No. I think the NBA still has a role for guys like Doke.

better yet - is Doke going to try and defend Jo Jo lobs or dunks -- ya your right crazy-- - Jo Jo would eat Doke alive in the NBA & No not unless he can find some kind of shot. - - there are ALL KINDS of rim protectors in the NBa - he wouldn't be anything special that way in the NBA. - - all kinds of BIG TIME REBOUNDERS right now in the NBA. -you haven't mentioned anything that is not already in the NBA that would make him stick out from current players.

Like others have said there might be a team willing to take that risk be in G league and if he finds a spot on a NBA roster - might get some spot minutes but he is not going to be any kind of NBA stud/star - -just the way it is.

Nice post. I hadn't noticed Doke's improvement with moving his feet, I'll have to watch for that. But it makes sense in that, at least against this weak IS team, overall I thought his D is looking pretty good.

What I noticed more (and sorry I realize this is a D thread) is the big fella made 4 for 5 FTs! His form looked better too I thought. But he still looks so exasperated when he's waiting for the ball at the line, you can almost see the inner turmoil. If somehow he can keep up this new efficiency, along his better D, and amazing FG percentage he (and the team) will be even more of a force to be reckoned with.

@jayballer73 no worries. Those who are deterred by the snow are not the ones that rock the Arrowhead. Plus, the cold weather hurts the warm climate team like Houston more. Let it snow, let it snow.

screw that I not worried about the Chiefs. - I'm worried about the Crimson & Blue. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Prepping the fireplace now, ready to bunker down this weekend.

Ya just heard some more. Blowing and drifting snow and wind chills looks like around 13-15 degrees. Couldn't come at a worse time.

Est around 4.5 inches in the Topeka area and like 5.7 inches in Lawrence and more towards 6around KC

Well dam , just heard the latest weather forecast. - -Topeka area Lawrence , Kansas City and surrounding area's going into a Winter Storm watch starting tomorrow night and running through Saturday Night.

If that's not bad enough, they talking about ICE 1st est like 0.12 around 6 O'clock and then changing over to snow and getting anywhere from 3-6 inches, guys if that happens we lose part of our fans - -a weapon. Cause you know and I know that place was going to be rockin - -Dam

Hope we can still get as many as possible without putting themselves in harms way. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

I heard this off a podcast. - Think about this guys , all we needed to win the game last night , all we needed in the 2nd half would of been 8 points. - That's all we would of needed at worst to win the game. - -Iowa St scored 53 points , we had 46 at the half lol

THEN at 8:00 on ESPN , Oregon and Arizona - Think I like Oregon in that fairly comfortable - they put stumpy in his place looking about 8-10 win - still good to watch

@benshawks08 I'm just a humble board rat but I've been very impressed with Ochai's defense as well.

Doke, Dot, Marcus and Agbaji are all tremendous defensively and Braun now that he appears to be putting it together could join that group. He has the athletic and mental tools to do it. I was a bit worried about his speed coming in, but that no longer concerns me.

Tristan has had a large statistical impact on D while being clueless, if he ever does totally figure it out he could be amazing. His bigger issue is offense though, where he looks lost.

David is passable on D for a 5 and Moss at least TRIES (cough, Q, cough).

Put it all together and this team is just suffocating.
