That's one of my biggest questions at this point, Do they have Miller talking about paying Ayton the 100k or not?

This is part of the reason I think nothing happens to KU, they don't have much if anything on Self. Maybe a low level violation for using Gassnola to help recruiting. For them to get anything on KT they will need to dig into Zion and I'm not sure who in this country has the balls to if anyone. LOL at Roy ya I'm sure he's never heard of this happening, one could say they don't do it but I'd bet the farm they have lost guys to paying schools even if they are clean.

@wissox yep, coming from a poor family as most of these kids are I can’t blame them for taking the money. What would you expect a poor 17-19 year old to do? Most of them know other players and see how it is, especially the OADs. They will only be around a season and it has little to no effect on them going forward. Go on take the money and run as Tom Petty would say.

Idk at this point that anything happens outside of an investigation, alot of it probably depends what else the FBI has on KU because I'm not sure this is enough to do a whole heck of a lot. The current case ruling may play a factor, if found guilty that means the court believes Self and the university is believed to have no knowledge of the payments made from Adidas. If found not guilty it means the court thinks there is enough evidence to believe the staff did know it was happening and the schools weren't victims of anything.

@HighEliteMajor That would be interesting, I'd fire Self the day that came out if it was true. If we are paying guys to win one title in 30 years, we arent doing it right. I would say my chances of winning the lotto are higher than most of the power conference teams being clean.

I'd say I'm less excited about this season with what has came out for sure. I also think that the NCAA is to blame for letting it go on. What choice does a power 5 team have if the NCAA is letting others get away with it like they have for decades? If you want to get these guys and do anything but get stomped 30 you are going to have to do the same thing. Players have been getting paid for decades at least maybe since it began, I know guys that played at the JUCO level and NAIA level that say guys got stuff. Think of it like the speeding ticket, most of us prob go 5 or 10 over because we haven't been ticketed for doing so. If I was pulled over for doing 5 overa few times, I wouldn't do it anymore. The question to me is how dirty are we? Did we pay some guys, all guys? I think most of us would call out other programs if such was released about them but I'm still not sure how everything adds up with what we know. It makes zero sense to sit certain guys you paid while playing others.

Yep dropped the third set after leading by 4 in it now down 6 in the fourth. It looks exactly like when they beat us in Basketball, we just show up and they have the energy and fire. I just turned it off, I ain’t gonna watch a team just go thru the motions like they have better to do. Maybe they over looked KSU with the big games they’ve won and KSU being 0-6 in the league. Sadly I think we had like 7 or 8 straight wins in the series. It just stuff you’d expect from a young team but still disappointing.

@Woodrow Yep, they ain't gonna bite the hands thats feeding them. They can say they are for the athletes or who ever but they are about money just like everyone else in this world, not limited but including our government.

@BShark That happens everywhere aswell IMO. Michael Beasleys mom went from rags to riches when he at KSU. She lived in a multi million dollars condo out by the country club, his former agent leaked a ton of info about this and the NCAA didn't even care to look at it. Also Shaq, Charles Barkley and Jay Williams all have admitted to being paid in college for nothing to happen. Several football players have as well. The SMU death penalty is still laughable because they knew several other Texas schools were doing the same thing.

@Woodrow Very good read and I agree with it. They have let Coach K and Dook do whatever they pleased for decades based off of his image. I don't think the NCAA has the balls to take down a high profile coach like that.

@Kcmatt7 Ya Embiid and Redick were the only guys that showed up for the game. Fultz looked terrible as did Shamet and a host of others. The 76ers didn't make enough off season moves IMO.

@Kcmatt7 it obvious Duke and UK are forking out some serious cash, I believe they are the only schools that have signed multiple top 25 recruits the each last 10 classes. If people are paying for a average at best Bowen type player rest assured Parker, Zion, Carter and Bagley all got a truck full of cash to go Duke.

@HighEliteMajor I’d recommend sitting down and watching 2 of my favorite basketball movies Blue Chips and He Got Game, both movies shed light into what happens during recruiting. Also I’d watch the HBO documentary on the scandal of the 1950 CCNY basketball team (only team to win the NC and NIT in the same year). I disagree with paying players, I wish I had the chance to go to school for free and get thousands of dollars in clothing, meals and housing for free while I was there. But I’ve thought for years that guys were getting paid, heck UK was busted for it back in the 50s. I hate it but everyone’s doing it and if you don’t you’ve not going to win. ever. As I posted on another thread a D1 assistant claimed “No player is free”. As long as the shoe companies, rich boosters are involved and people pay to watch, kids will get paid. It’s the same way in college football, heck I know that played at the junior college level and got a car. The NCAA won’t dig deeper because they won’t take down the ACC and SEC, those conferences line their pockets and they’ve changed rules and not held any school accountable for decades. The NCAA has one sole purpose whether anyone wants to admit it or not, make money.

@BeddieKU23 I like the the current challenge but I think good match ups in Jan or Feb are better than the champions classic in early Nov.

@BShark I personally believe everyone is getting something, I think the NCAA just doesn't care if you don't leave a paper trail. Several former top recruits on the matter have said everyones getting paid but we didn't when asked about it. I think its been going on since the 50s when UK got busted. ESPN radio had a former D1 assistant on a few years back that asked not to be identified and he claimed there is no such thing as a free recruit in today's game, claimed even the local guys that were fans of the school wanted something because they knew they could get it.

I’d say Self is fine at this point, Gassnola probably wouldn’t lie under oath to protect Self. He has no reason too. As @KUSTEVE said why was Billy’s mom trying to hide her payments from Self and KU if he already knew. Once Gassnola was a AAU coach that has a lotta connections, every D1coach has a guy in the background doing recruiting. I’m ready for this to be over and the NCAA to change stuff so this doesn’t happen again.

Interesting, ESPN's playoff predictor says the SEC has a 96% chance to land a team in and a 26% chance to get 2. The big 10 has a 88% chance to get in and a 11% chance at 2 teams in. The ACC has a 83% chance to get one team in and a .3% chance to get multiples in. The Big 12 sets at just 25% to get in and a negative chance for
more than one. The Pac 12 is at a 5% chance to get in. I'm a little surprised the B10 is ahead of the ACC, the B10 didn't have a very good non conference resume as a whole and they have a single unbeaten team left while the ACC has 2. That and Ohio State's big wins aren't near as big as when they won them, TCU has fell of a cliff to this point and Penn State has 2 losses, with more likely coming.

The accumulation wasn't much but as early as I can remember. Here in central Kansas we have had a 92 degree day, Flooding from rain and now snow in about a 8 day period. It was 26 degrees when I started my truck this morning.

I’ll be honest that maybe the worse defensive performance I’ve seen outta a professional team ever. The offense need to be perfect for them to win, which isn’t fair to them.

@Texas-Hawk-10 there are a ton of scenarios for sure, I honestly think OU wins out but I’m not sure it’s enough to get in but who knows. Also LSU and Bama have to play yet as does Ohio State and Michigan so those are 2 chances to move up for both OU and Texas. I honestly think UCF slips up this season and that would eliminate them.

I wanted to go check out Duke and UNC in a jayhawk shirt a few years back when I was in North Carolina but I didnt have time. Funny thing was I actually ran into several KU fans in Charlotte. Dukes camous looks pretty cool from what I’ve seen.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Colorado is getting hammered right now and they are ranked 19th, they have zero shot at the CFP after they lose tonight. Texas is ranked several spots ahead of some the teams you mentioned so with out them losing again it’s tough to say those teams would jump them. Texas is at number 9 currently tho it isn’t the CFP ranking but usually they are pretty close. Numbers 2,6,7 and 8 all lost today I bet Texas is 6th or 7th in the next poll. LSU could jump them but I bet they lose on the road to Alabama. Texas is a national brand and has a huge following, if they are in the debate they’ll get in so more money can be made.

Big shake up this week in CFB, I wouldn’t bet on a B12 team making it but if OU or Texas win out they should at least be in the conversation. Hopefully 2 SEC teams don’t get in this year, which I think is likely at this point because every SEC but Alabama already has 1 loss to date. Notre Dame will get in if they go unbeaten, I don’t believe they have a good enough schedule to get in with a loss. I actually think there is a chance the B10 loses out once again on CFB, all of the West teams are out and only OSU and Michigan have a chance. They meet in the last game of the regular season, at point with OSU’s big wins being Penn State and TCU who now look mediocre, they can’t cant afford a loss if they want to get in IMO. I’d say Alabama, Notre Dame and Clemson looking at schedules are the best bet to be in at this point. The fourth team could be anyone’s guess at this point, if OSU loses to Michigan or in the B10 title game I don’t think their conference is strong enough to warrant them getting in and that I think opens the door for a 1 loss B12 or SEC team. Obviously if OSU wins out they’ll be in. I just ain’t sold on them to this point.

I’m not a Trump supporter by any stretch but if you can’t see the double standard in that you are truly blinded by you’re political affiliations. I pretty much dislike all politicians, I think they are all liars and cheats. But the Democrats confuse the crap outta me these days. The Kanvavgh (spelled wrong) deal for instance, several democrats in office right now have been accused of sexual assault and Ellison(D) beat the living daylights outta his wife with no out cry. I’m for women’s safety as much as anyone else but only calling out people you don’t vote for is chicken sh**. You’re for Justice and equality or you’re not, it’s like reporting your neighbor to west for raping and beating your wife then voting for the neighbor to east that’s doing the same. Next is the McCain deal, so the guy that was called a racist, white supremactist, nazi and a trader for info he gave up as a POW during the presidential election by Democrats. Now because he didn’t like Trump he’s the greatest republican to walk this planet. Next one of the many women that claimed to be sexually assaulted by Clinton was called a whore and skank by Democrats, the Daniels gal that claimed Trump paid to have sex with her (who by definition is actually a whore) was giving Democrats life lessons and called a hero for no apparent reason. You want to look up all the the Democrats that have been busted for prostitution that are currently in office? There are several, I say we end the parties right now and start voting for independents. Everyone needs to take off there Donkey or Elephant hats and see that all of these people lied and cheated to get to where they are.

@Texas-Hawk-10 they already have several wins and beat OSU before you posted. But I do agree that it will be an up hill battle for them. Just saying a loss today would put their chance from slim to virtually none.

I really don't think anything today worries me to this point. People are saying KT was involved because with Gassnola but Gassnola was a AAU coach. Which I'm sure most D1 staffs have contacts with. If anything SDS only supposedly getting 2500 dollars looks better than 20k or 60k that was alleged, especially if he paid back Maryland or didnt take their money. Selby basically got 1500 from AAU coach and had to sit the first 9 games so him missing the first half of the season could be a worthy punishment if they can even prove that he got anything. @JAYHAWKFAN214 Interesting that Billy was trying to play us, no wonder his attitude was so good according to HCBS, he knew he screw up lol.

It will be interesting on how this plays out, I believe a Maryland player had the same issue with a pro team contract and was cleared by the NCAA almost instantly. I thought that was one of the issues as to why Silvio wasn’t cleared as soon as he was on campus. At this point it doesn’t sound like they have a whole lot of info against KU. If all that they have is a dad saying stuff, that ain’t much. It’s as simple as this to me “it’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove”. Even if he is right they got to come up with a paper trail or some hard evidence to get anything done. I remember Cal talking about how the NCAA wanted 10x the amount of info at UMass for Camby than the top 5 recruits they get in UK every season. So the question to me is does how far does Coach Ks and Nike’s pull reach? All the way into the court room? I’ve said in the past the NCAA refuses to take down the SEC and ACC, theses are the big money conferences they have amended and changed rules before to help schools out in those conferences. If those guys get involved look for the NCAA to sweep previous offenses under the rug. I personally think guys have been getting paid for over 50 years, heck UK was busted in the 50s for it. They don’t care if you don’t leave it traceable IMO. I still believe this case to be a huge waste of tax payer money, the school shooter Florida was reported several times and ingnored it for months. With all the bs that J Edgar had within the FBI, I think it should be dissolved, I guess that’s an arguement for another time.

Interesting that we don’t play one, I don’t know that I’d want to play a real competitive game tho just because you don’t want to hurt guys. I know that can happen in the exhibition games too but usually that’s so one sided our guys don’t have to go super hard.
