@Texas-Hawk-10 correction biggest 2nd half comeback

Libscomb tops Joe Dooley and FGCU to get to the dance. I watched this one and FGCU flatout didn’t show up till the last 15 minutes, they were down 29 at he half and by as many as 32 in the second. They got it down to 5 points on a few occasions but didn’t have enough stops in the end to pull off what would’ve been the biggest come back in NCAA history.

@jayballer73 I chuckled a bit when they lost, not because I dislike the school or the program. I just hate fair weather fans, I’m a KU football fan. I’ve taken my lumps forsure but WSU fans didn’t exist about 6 years ago. I went to a game at Koch when Turg was early in his career and I bet the place didn’t have 1500 people in it. My honest opinion is that KU wants no part of Cincy or WSU this season. But I think WSU is headed for some serious rebuilding after this season especially if Shamet goes pro.

@Crimsonorblue22 Baseball is only worth watching late in the year and playoffs to me. I’d rather watch nascar than MLB all summer. Which says a lot be nascar stinks anymore too lol.

Spring training and early season baseball means nothing. I can’t stand watching, bunch of guys just half a**ing it. I went to a royals game a few years back early in the season and the place was 1/20 full and was boring as could be. Then I turn on sportscenter and highlights from another meaningless game with an empty stadium. That’s my biggest knock on the MLB, it doesn’t take a 160 games to determine who should be in the playoffs. August on baseball is fun to watch, you can actually see guys hustling and wanting to win. Just my opinion on the matter.

@BShark putting Saint Mary’s as a 10 seed is almost as dumb as putting a 3 loss #23 ranked UNI team as a 10 seed. Bilas said something today that I really agree with about how some of theses mid majors that are on the bubble with 24 or 25 wins are at huge disadvantage because they don’t play top 50 or even top 100 teams in their conference tournament. I personally think a team like Old Dominion deserves to be in more than a team like OSU. They are giving a ton of respect to the big east with both Nova and Xavier as one seeds.

Stinks seeing all these guys leave, especially the ones that were there for several years. Think of how good the royals could be if they had the cash to keep some of the great players from the last 5 years.

Anyone watching this Dook UNC game? Dook has shot 17 fts to UNCs 4, the only reason it’s a contest even tho Dook has hit just 7 of them.

@HighEliteMajor I would agree that was his best job before this year. That 08-09 team had more talent and guys with N.C. experience.

2 things I can promise you as long as coach Self is here, which I hope is a long time. 1, he will struggle against OSU, especially on the road. 2, he will struggle in elite 8 games if we make it that far. Those are two factual statements if you look at the numbers.

My hope is that we have what I call a good/average season. An average season under Bill Self is a Conference title, 30 wins and a sweet 16 birth. I know I'm a minority in this but making the sweet 16 isn't easy and it's not a bad year. People I think forget that this maybe the toughest tournament to win in all of sports. I break it down as follows:

Bad/below average season: Not winning the conference and/or a first weekend exit

Good/ average season: Winning the conference and close to 30 games while making the sweet 16

Really good/above average season: Winning the conference, more than 30 games and making to the elite 8

Great Season: Making the final four and when that happens the conference and total wins are irrelevant, Big banner > Little banner

Historic season: National title!

Obliviously not all season fall exactly into this (2010, had both conference titles and 30+ wins) but I think its a good guide line.

@approxinfinity definition of irony lol, anyone else ticked that Trier was cleared after using a banned subsistence for the 3rd and Ayton, Miller are still on the floor all while Billy wasn't cleared. SMH maybe the best part about the FBI is they wont just curtain schools get away with whatever.

@Gunman You really think all 5 of these guys are gonna going pro? Svi and DG have a chance to get drafted but are projected in the second round, I dont think anyone else goes and if they did probably only Doke would get drafted.

I think ESPN favors Nike schools, in terms on the false or incorrect reports from the media, it seems pretty normal these days. Denzel Washington, one of my favorite actors once said "If you watch the news you are misinformed and if you dont watch you're uninformed". Its all based on ratings and who you can get to read or watch your outlet. The Walter Cronkite's of the world are gone, people like him have passed or moved on.

Tech taking a big hit in seeding here the last week, Evans didn’t play tonight and WVU jumped out to a 16-0 lead in a easy win.

These last 2 groups of seniors, man tough to see these guys go. 😢

He had better numbers than Saturday, finished with 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 rebounds. I’ll just be honest, I don’t think the effort was anything special tonight from anyone. I think we knew we didn’t have to play great to win and being senior night. Hopefully it means we rested at least lol.

We were lucky to keep some of the bigger names we had early on from last years class, Beaty must show improvement this year. I thinking he has to win a minimum of 4 games to keep his job but if I’m be honest I could see him fired after a week 1 loss to Nichols State.

I’m just gonna be honest, when she retires I’m going to sit in the dark and cry for a few hours. She is simply one of if not the best.

@dylans DG requested them for senior night is what I’m being told.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I like them, but seems we never play well in them. When's the last time we wire then? I can't remember.

@Crimsonorblue22 @HawkChamp That is my biggest concern going forward, Rebounding. That put back dunk Doke just stood there to tie it at 68 had me fuming. Doke didn’t have his greatest game by any stretch and that’s ok, but he flat out needs rebound better for us to go far. 7 rebounds in 29 minutes for a guy his size isn’t all that great, I’d like to see around 12 with those minutes and he had his chances to get a few more today. They missed 32 shots and rebounded nearly 50% of them. The ball movement continues to be excellent and is a big factor for us.

Y’all remember when Gottlieb said BIFM and DG were mid major guys that wouldn’t amount to much. Seems to me like they have both had pretty solid careers here. I always thought Doug was way overrated as player personally, he was a solid passer but was absolutely no threat to score and couldn’t even wear his pants right lol.

Well, I said after the Tech home loss that if Self could win with this bunch, he is the best regular season coach in history. Bill Self is the best regular season coach in NCAA basketball history! Now let’s start start expanding that to simply The Best!

I’m a little bit ticked that they aren’t even on the bubble with a 22-7 record to be honest. They are a game behind Middle Tennessee, whom they play this next week in conference USA, and could tie them for the league with a win. Then teams like OU safely in at this according to most and Middle Tennessee is a 10-11 at large bid. But it’s nice to Coleby get minutes and prove he’s a solid player, I have no ill will towards him whatsoever.

@betterfireE I would, to be honest if we win Monday, I’d start him a week from today. Just to see how he handles it. I’d play Sam and Mitch as much as I could get away it as well. I know Self probably won’t and has already said they would play to win in that position regardless but I think we can still win and give those guys some more minutes personally.

With Syracuse getting whipped by duke and Roach’s heroics to lift Texas by Okie State they may still have a chance to get in. Baylor was in but another loss on the road to TCU hurt their chances. It may depend on who goes further in the B12 tournament to determine who gets in between Texas and Baylor, I personally think OU should be in the same boat tho most had them as a 9 or 10 before today’s win over KSU. At this point it seems that KU, WVU, TT, TCU and KSU should all be locks IMO. Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor probably all don’t get in but it looks like there is a fat chance 2 of the 3 do, ether way 7 or 8 of a 10 team league is pretty salty. Hopefully the conference can back up the hype that they have had all year about being the best conference.

@BShark interesting hearing something I actually agree with coming outta his mouth. As much as I hate to admit it Bruce has had a decent year at silo tech and probably finishes 4th in the league.

Unbelievable my friends, the level of difficulty that those last 2 shots that DG took are crazy plus the late shot clock 3, to quote Self “If Devonté doesn’t win POY the after that preformance, will get him a trophy anyway”. Lol

Bridges will play today, the university and the NCAA have worked together for the last 24 hours and have deemed his situation not at risk potential retribution. That’s the fastest the NCAA has ever worked for a team not on the east and very interesting to say the least.

No sickness is fun forsure, luckily he hasn’t ended up needed to admitted to hospital. Sadly he’s 2 and a half, and we have end up in the hospital the last 2 years for ether influenza or RSV. But we are hopeful he is able to return to daycare Monday.

How many many of these cases wouldn’t have happened if the stupid OAD rule wasn’t in place. You’re asking kids that think they are just there for a pit stop to play by the same rules that don’t care as much about the school or what happens when they leave.

@jayballer73 highly doubtful if this is all they have on us. The sum of money is fairly small and it would be hard for KU or even Jackson himself to have knowledge of this. The NCAA can’t expect the players parents to hand over all there bank statements and pay check stub from before the kids are even committed.

@BeddieKU23 @BShark Here’s the other side of the coin, if it happened before JJ was even on campus or committed to KU. Is that didn’t the NCAA clearing house clear him after that?

I just gonna be honest I’d be pretty ticked if we had to vacate wins because JJs mom took $2,700. This is an interesting road because the NCAA hasn’t penalized the kid several tiems if they had no knowledge of it example Cam Newton’s dad getting 200K with no punishment. To make it the schools responsibility to keep not only try and keep track of the kids but what’s their parents are doing is a little crazy. Make it illegal for agents to speak to anyone related or the kids themselves. The AAU circuit and these agents are most of the issues with what’s happening IMO.

@Statmachine boy that’s a trophy from the early days of the streak lol, still has Fizzou, Nebraska, Colorado and A&M on there.

@mayjay Thats what makes KU great, we don’t have down years compared to others. We are the most consistent program in the country and have been for quite sometime now. Honestly think I’d rather be us than Indiana and UCLA, both haven’t been relevant most of the last 30 plus years and aren’t considered national powers anymore. That and let’s be real winning the tournament after it’s expaned to what it is now is a whole lot harder than what it was when UCLA was doing their thing.
