If you're not able to watch this garbage, be thankful. Watch something else - ANYTHING else.

Without googling it - I'd venture to say most of the Final Four teams in recent years have either not had OAD's or have not had good production from them. Juniors and Seniors win Championships.

Case in point - look at the rosters (Both Teams) of last year's championship game. No OAD's - tons of Juniors and Seniors.

I say, the ones that want to go pro from High School - let em go. Unless their name is Moses, Kobe or LeBron (yes, there are others, but very few) nobody will ever hear of them again.

The ones that want to have their jerseys hanging in Allen Fieldhouse (preferably) will stay 3 or 4 years.

I stated in a post several days ago that if I were a head coach I wouldn't even have a punter on my team. BUT - I didn't say anything about not having a field goal kicker. There are times to go for it on fourth down (like if you have a big, good offensive line and you have some momentum) and there are times when you need to ...gasp - punt or kick a field goal.

@approxinfinity But you're right. I'm being foolish to expect big things right away. It's like that old saying "Lord, give me patience and I want it RIGHT NOW".

So, does that mean you're working on the "LOL" button.......?

@dylans Yeah, " quiet " is not a word I'd normally associate with AFH, but I've only been there a handful of times. Loud times.

Weren't Allen Fieldhouse and Arrowhead stadium documented as the loudest venues of their type a couple of years ago?

@kjayhawks You know, my head tells me that Les Miles is a great coach (despite going for it on 4th and 4 when he should have kicked a field goal....sorry). Logic and all that good stuff tells me it's going to take .....3 years to build any kind of competitive program.

But my heart says WIN NOW, DANG IT!!! WE'RE SICK OF BEING THE LAUGHINGSTOCK OF THE BIG 12 (and possibly the nation).

I had no false hopes of going to a bowl this year. But I sure as heck thought we'd win the first two games for sure. Maybe sneak one or two in the conference. Now I have to believe we've won all we're going to this season.

Oh well.

" KU looks like they drank beers all offseason. "

I think @approxinfinity is upset with me right now or I'd ask him to add an " LOL " button.

@rockchalkwyo OUCH. I guess the truth hurts. Love the "pillow fight" analogy.

Would someone please tell Chris Klieman that he needs to stop winning. He can wait 3-5 years like all the rest of the coaches.

And if the 3-5 year waiting law works, why didn't we hang on to Beaty? He won 4 games last year (which is like 9 at any other college) and was very close to winning several more. By the "wait and see" rule, he should still be here.

@dylans Fair enough.

I guess that's the same reason my wife says our marriage has lasted 40 years - she has very low expectations....

Ranking the losses • Sep 11, 2019 01:43 PM

@dylans You're playing with the wrong shaped ball right now, brother.

kjayhawks said:

" Ku never was or will be great but only man that can win here is gone. "

I'm pretty down on KU football right now, but we have had (over the long haul) some very, very good teams. We can have them again if all the ingredients come together. I also liked the Big Guy very much and thought the Admin was spineless and weak for firing him - but he's not the Messiah, there are other guys that can do the job.

I hope he's on campus right now.

@approxinfinity I just can't stand it when people think logically and sensibly. Stop it man - hop on the "we're always going to be losers" bandwagon with us.....

@dylans lol, thought the same thing about the 30 years. Guess Mangino and the Orange Bowl gave him a false sense of hope.

@kjayhawks No, wouldn't say I'm a better judge at all. I guess I was just expecting more, what with the undefeated record (lol) and the new high powered coach.

I heard one guy say leaving the stadium - "Same ol s**t. Been a season ticket holder for 30 years and its always the same. I'm done."

I hated to hear that, but kind of understand.!

@kjayhawks I understand that the team needs to get/keep the crowd excited, but -just asking, were you at the game? The crowd wasn't in the game at the start, middle and especially at the end. The most applause I heard was for the young man (Marine?) and his family. While that was appreciated and well deserved, I would liked to have seen that level of enthusiasm for the players.

Ranking the losses • Sep 11, 2019 12:38 AM

Lord have mercy. Too many disappointments for me to count.

I believe it's more than who the QB is. A lot more.

If any of you live in Lawrence, please don't take this personally - it's a generalized statement. From my point of view, at this moment in time, Lawrence, Ks could care less whether KU is playing on Saturday or not, unless it's with a round ball.

I see much more enthusiasm from the players, the crowd and the town in just about any High School setting. It's one of those "If you win, we will come" Catch-22's. Admittedly, there was a nice crowd there Saturday. A nice, ho-hum, when does basketball season start crowd.

KU football fans are now where K-State basketball fans were just a few years ago. They didn't know what to do. They didn't know how to be basketball fans. Now, don't string up the nooses just yet, I hate K-State when it comes to sports. But their fans are learning basketball better than our fans are learning football.

Somehow we have to convince the fans to be enthusiastic even when we suck. Even when the coach calls stupid plays. (or the OC - the coach is ultimately responsible). I swear, I've never been to ANY sporting event where the whole crowd sat on their hands during the player introduction. I was shocked.

If KU is ever going to excel at football, the city and fans need to help them.

@DanR You're both right.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 09, 2019 01:17 PM

@DanR Yes, we were there a couple of hours early. We saw everything. Good and bad.

I know it's been a long time since our football team has been taken seriously, but honestly, I was surprised at how unenthusiastic the whole town seemed. I remember driving through Pittsburg, Ks a couple of times, and it's like WOW - these folks are behind their team. Businesses, residences, everybody's flying flags and banners, and wearing "the colors".

Were you at the game? I think the thing that got me the most was how ....meh.... the crowd was when they introduced the players. The KU Players!! Literally nobody cheered. I started to clap and looked around and thought "whoa, what kind of weird no cheer tradition is this?". You don't see that in AFH.

Anyway, I hope they get it figured out soon. It looks to be another long, horrid Big 12 season from what I've seen so far.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 05:59 PM

@DanR lol. I'm embarrassed to say. We tried to park at the Mississippi St parking garage, which I was under the impression was free - it was not. Any way, long story short - parked at Wal-Mart and took Uber.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 05:41 AM

Went to the game tonight with my wife and son. Here's my take.

Parking is an obscene nightmare.

The band looked like they just woke up from a nap. And sounded like it too.

Carter Stanley couldn't start for either of our local High Schools.

If this is the way Les Miles coaches, we need to keep looking.

The Offensive Coordinator is offensive.

The crowd was nice.

The cheerleaders were great!

By the way, if this team played to its potential tonight, we have won all the games we're going to this year.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 05:31 AM

@FarmerJayhawk There's going to be a lot of flying off the handle for quite some time

Parking Wars • Sep 06, 2019 03:31 PM

Fellow Bucketeers, I am in need of an assist please. Tomorrow we're going to our first KU Football game in ....10 years or so. I don't have $50,000 to donate to the Williams Fund, so we probably won't get a premier parking spot.

Any ideas y'all have about where to park would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

And so the Season begins • Sep 06, 2019 01:10 PM

If the Packers only had Bart Starr.....

Devon • Sep 04, 2019 08:27 PM

For what it's worth - these are the all time KU scoring leaders:

1 Danny Manning ........ 2,951

2 Nick Collison ........2,097

3 Raef LaFrentz ........2,066

4 Clyde Lovellette........ 1,979

5 Sherron Collins .........1,888

6 Frank Mason III.... 1,885

7 Darnell Valentine..... 1821

8 Keith Langford .....1,812

9 Perry Ellis ..... 1,798

10 Paul Pierce ..... 1,768

Oh yeah - Wilt would be at the very top of my list - leading scorer or not.

In Bullet Dodging News • Sep 04, 2019 07:27 PM

@KUSTEVE And I hope it's nothing more than a sprinkle by the time it reaches North Carolina. (Not Roy - my daughter lives there)

A Bad look • Sep 04, 2019 01:32 PM

A few years back, me and a buddy were fishing from my boat. We had a little adult refreshment with us. Did anybody else know it was illegal to drink while fishing ???? So, this game warden comes flying at our boat, screaming at the top of his lungs to quit....FISHING ?? He wasn't at all upset with the beers. I handed him a stick of dynamite and said "You gonna talk or you gonna fish?".

Obviously a total lie and a stolen joke.

Devon • Sep 03, 2019 04:30 PM

@HighEliteMajor That's so weird - EVERY one of them is on my list.

Of people we should have never recruited.

I hope so. I was pretty underwhelmed Saturday.

Guy's let's see , try • Sep 02, 2019 05:44 PM

@stoptheflop - you have to understand, the football people aren't used to selling a lot of tickets.....

Anybody ever seen this movie? • Aug 28, 2019 08:47 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 Nope - we can't get the imgur stuff at all. Who knows why?

@RockChalkinTexas My computer at work won't let me access this site. What's the name of the movie?

@Texas-Hawk-10 Mmmmmm - at 6-42, if he upgraded the talent level, he sure didn't do anything with it.

@KUSTEVE I wish I was smart enough to decode that.

Putting the NCAA on Notice! • Aug 22, 2019 07:38 PM

@bcjayhawk I remember another great Cajun chef - Justin Wilson, who may or may not have used that word, but he used a lot of other colorful ones. Maybe it was because his tongue was numb from the "cooking" sherry / wine.

ESPN+ Series • Aug 21, 2019 07:57 PM

@FarmerJayhawk I also bought an antenna (because they don't broadcast pre-season Chiefs games on a lot of (including YT) streaming stations. But my TV is on the north side of the house - the stations I need to pick up are 80+ miles away and to my south and west, so I still don't get the Chiefs pre-season. Have tried a couple of apps that work ok, but they seem to "freeze up" at half time....

ESPN+ Series • Aug 21, 2019 07:30 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 Yes.

Putting the NCAA on Notice! • Aug 21, 2019 07:29 PM

@justanotherfan I must be the most naive guy on the planet. I haven't read all of the "racial" posts word for word, but I am literally in shock. This stuff is still that prevalent? I can't believe it.

I'm white, but I've had many friends over the years that were not. Mostly black and hispanic. I don't know what Brandon and Tim were selling, but It's never crossed my mind not to buy something - car, house, groceries, whatever it is i'm buying - from someone just because they are another race. That's CRAZY.

Just curious - are you guys in the midwest? Like I said, maybe i have my head in the sand, or maybe it's different in other parts of the country/world.

That's a sad, sad thing to not like someone for the color of their skin. (of course my twisted mind wants to add "when there are so many other things not to like them for!" jk )

ESPN+ Series • Aug 21, 2019 07:22 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 We went with Youtube.tv and a Roku streaming stick. We're saving $110 per month and love, love, love it. We have - literally - thousands of channels now (oh - we're on our sons' Netflix and Hulu accounts) plus we have Netflix. The ONLY drawback we've seen so far is no Paramount channel (Ink Master) and no Weather Channel. We get all our locals News/Weather/Sports channels. I would have no trouble recommending it to anyone. (although I understand we don't all like the same kinds of shows)

The Roku thing was $59 (one time purchase at Sam's) and the Youtube.tv is $50 per month. No contract. Quit any time with no penalties. No, I don't work for youtube - i just love it that much.

ESPN+ Series • Aug 21, 2019 06:19 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Thanks! Will set my DVR - or whatever it is called now that I pulled the plug on Cox. (aka - one of the best days of my life!)

Hudy going to Texas • Aug 20, 2019 08:31 PM

@mayjay I really do try hard to put myself in other's shoes. But if you're at - arguably - THE best basketball program in the nation - why do you leave to go to Texas????

I could see ---gasp--- Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke - those kinds of names.

Forgive me for asking this, I really don't know. Is she just the strength coach for basketball - or does she do football and other sports too? If so, then I could see that. Although, if she's the strength coach for football - what better opportunity to start at the ground floor and build a dynasty than at Kansas?

Hudy going to Texas • Aug 20, 2019 01:18 PM

@approxinfinity I honestly meant nothing by it, just - she's gone, let's move on. Remember when Ol' Roy left? Good grief, some people STILL hate him for that. Personally, I was really ticked for about 5 years then I thought " Hey, he did a great job for KU, kind of re-ignited a passion for a lot of people that had slacked off on KU Basketball." I got over it and now I root for him whenever they're not playing us.

And maybe because I'm a homer, I will never understand people who leave KU - - BASKETBALL - - to go somewhere else. Makes no sense to me.

Hudy going to Texas • Aug 19, 2019 07:45 PM

@jayballer73 Haters are anybody that thinks that anyone who has a different opinion than them is a hater.

Quit hatin.

Hudy going to Texas • Aug 19, 2019 07:44 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 A lot of people don't get me. I'm glad you do!

Hudy going to Texas • Aug 19, 2019 04:56 PM

A.H. is dead to me now. No point talking about anyone that does not want to be at KANSAS.

Buh Bye
