Dok has got to stop throwing his hip out on screens. It's too obvious and is going to draw a cheap foul.
I get tired of ESPN using the split screen all the time and taking away from the game.
Finally, KU is shooting the 3 ball successfully. 6/11 from 3 and Garrett has 3 of those. Come on Moss, the 2nd half is your time to put up some 3s.
Wow, Dok with 10 boards in the first half, 5 on the offensive end.
Moss gets the start, but has only taken 2 shots. I wish we set good screens for our 3 point shooters.
Dok has got to stop dribbling when he gets the ball in the paint.
Another great Big 12 matchup that is relegated to the obscurity of ESPN- : Baylor v. WV today at 3. I know it's hard to do, but I'll be rooting for Huggy's team and hoping the the Baylor guards have on off day.
@FarmerJayhawk Wow, hearing Bob Davis and Max with the call really brings back the fondest memories. I no longer listen to the in-game radio broadcasts because I can't ever get the radio and visual broadcast to sychronize. And, I don't listen to very much of the current announcers anyway; too much dribble and BS. Not everything is changing for the better.
@BeddieKU23 Still love the guy and wish him all the best. Frank is still my favorite Jayhawk.
Great win. In Morgantown. Despite the refs letting the WV bigs camp in the lane all night. I'm still trying to adjust my in-game impression to our defense first, offense maybe style of play. Winning with 58 points is strange and quite different to the KU basketball I've known all these years. Since Braun isn't looking to shoot (one shot in 16 min last night) and Moss is currently our only threat from 3, I say start Moss and give him 30 minutes a game. But, that's because I'm still under the belief (clearly misguided) that it takes good offense to win games. How few points can this KU team score and still win?
@BShark Dok too
I missed Dok's foul. Stupid ESPN- keeps freezing on my screen. Assholes.
No 3 sec calls againt the home team, ever.
Just checked out a few plays in the XFL game between NY and Tampa Bay. Ben Heeney made a big hit for NY; almost created a fumble. Kinda fun hearing Ben's name again.
@mayjay I was really surprised Roy kept playing Platek with his 50% FT shooting in the last few minutes of regulation. He missed 3/4 FTs during the final few minutes, any one of which would have won the game in regulation.
@wissox I always mute the announcers. Too much pointless jibber jabber.
Garrett 0 pts. Braun 0 pts. and Ochai 2 pts. Come on guys, the name of the game is to score points.
Another half with Braun not looking to score. 0/2. He needs to drive to the rim a couple of times each half, just to open up his 3 shot.
Ist 3 of our half. Moss. 1-3 from 3 in 16 minutes of play. Shoot the 3 dangit.
Udunka is on a roll today. RC
Only one 3 pt attempt, Ochai. This team must work on some offense that gets a shooter open.
I see a lot of white out t-shirts on the empty seats.
I really miss Mitch's energy when he entered the games last year. One thing about Mitch, you always know he's giving everything he's got when he's on the court. Love and miss me some Mitch.
I hope our guys don't play like this is an expected blowout game. Our team just doesn't try to get rebounds after every missed shot. Just watch our players lack of reaction when there is a long rebound. Unless your job is to be the first guy back on defense, every other player should be moving toward the ball on every rebound opportunity. Very frustrating to watch.
KU has only attempted 4 3s. We must make a couple to keep the defense out of the paint.
Dok going coast to coast
KC just isn't getting its passes downfield. Too many short passes. Mahomes has time to wing it downfield.
Is this going to be our Super Bowl game thread?
@BShark2 I too was surprised that coach played Dave ahead of Dok in the closing minutes with the game on the line. Sure, Dok wasn't having his best game and while his FT shooting is better, he still could be a liability at the close. But, Dok's defense, like the block against Tennessee is still an awesome tool.
Great block a few possessions earlier by Dave too. Love his hustle
@benshawks08 Yes, Dok was 0/2 from the field, but 3/4 on fts.
Christian doesn't seem to be looking to shoot today. No shot attempts so far.
Ochai showing some hustle on both ends. Nice to see
Since when does a coach let a 7 footer dribble in the lane? When Dok dribbles his chance of scoring goes down to 0.
KU wearing orange T-Shirts in warm up. Very respectful. Now, kick the crap out of the Cowboys.
Any chance Dok plays all his minutes and doesn't sit because of fouls? His defense was definitely necessary to beat Tennessee, but he must dial it back enough to stay in the game.
Tough win. 4/17 from 3; 20/33 FTs and Moss 2 pts. Yikes.
Only 12/21 at the line
Anyone else hate the hair band?
Moss's box score line looks really bad
@Hawk8086 Strange game: Only 3 Volunteers scored. Fulkerson and Vescovi were the others with 9 each. None of their bench players even took a shot
Weird that the main thing we had to avoid (Dok fouls) is the first thing that happens. Karma?
@BShark Coach chewed on Moss during the time out.
Looks like the home teams are going to hold serve in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. I sure hope Baylor prevails.
Ochai 3/11; 0/3 from 3. But 6 rbds.
The empty court-side wine and cheese seats always irritate me. Come on guys, get back to your seat and support these guys.
Mawien seems to play harder against us. He's only averaging 7 pts a game; already has 8.
@dylans I assumed Dotson was just being the alpha dog, rather than failing to see the easier scoring opportunity
Dok shouldn't be switching to the guard. Just doesn't work
Our guards need to use Dok's screens better. The guards leave too much room, so Dok keeps jutting his hip out and getting the foul.
