Dorsey fouled Jackson by bodying up to him....no call

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:35 AM

Damn that was an ugly shot and Jackson made it look pretty.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:34 AM

Jackson has a stroke. He looks a little like Brannen Green.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:32 AM

WTH are the Oregon fans wearing? Bob the Builder hats?

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:31 AM

UNC needs to pound it inside and feed Meeks.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:31 AM

WOw...late whistle

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:29 AM

@HawkChamp I remember Altman saying, "They (KU) can't shoot that way (against Purdue)."

Hey Altman, your shooting went stone cold. This is what you get for making a stupid comment about playing the Chickenhawks or whatever you called KU.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:26 AM

And Dorsey comes through....Meeks is too big.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:23 AM

UNC having their way

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:21 AM

LOL...Quacks can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:21 AM

Meeks is dominating the Quackers.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:19 AM

I can only imagine what Doke's size would've done to the Quacks. Meeks is giving them fits.

Final Four Game Thread • Apr 02, 2017 02:15 AM

Oh what the hell....Take the NC to the Dean Dome. At least KU has some Indirect part in winning a NC....haha

KU Players Leaving/Staying Tracker • Apr 02, 2017 02:03 AM

@mayjay I hate to say it, but if that's the case....DON"T WANT HIM. KU is a team.

Recruiting Master Thread Part Deux • Apr 02, 2017 01:57 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 What's funny is that every player that Zona gets from KU, they all seem to end their college play in mediocrity.

Recruiting Master Thread Part Deux • Mar 31, 2017 04:53 AM

@BeddieKU23 Exactly. HCBS will not play that crap either. He shouldn't have to play that kind of recruiting non-sense to get a recruit. Let's leave it to the sleaze ball coaches and you can name them all.

KU Players Leaving/Staying Tracker • Mar 31, 2017 04:23 AM

I don't understand why Trevon is pausing IF he is all Dook and they are pulling away in the "crystal ball," then just commit already. However, unlike the other highly touted pg in the nation we missed, think Trevon has a set of different circumstances. I think if the kid is all Dook, he would've committed already. Something is causing him to pause and don't think he's 100% sold on Dook. He may go to Dook at this point, but hopefully KU is giving him fits. I also think Billy Preston may be our best recruiter at this point too.

Recruiting Master Thread Part Deux • Mar 31, 2017 04:08 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Reminds me of Mario Little. I also remember that year and how Bill Self really forced Rio into the 4. It never quite worked real well. He had moments against smaller teams, but to me Little looked like a fish out of water at the 4. Mario Little was also a 3, NOT a 4 and it showed in his game too.

Maybe it was Rio's juco game that never quite translated to the D1 stage. He was overall a good player, but each time he slipped into the 3, his game always showed flashes of what could've been. We also got a little guard from the juco ranks name Tyrone Appleton. No disrespect to Appleton, but he was a total waste of transfer. I'm not completely sold on juco transfers yet. I'm not saying they can't work, I'm saying it's yet to be determined for HCBS. The only juco transfer that shined at the D1 was the kid at WSU that beat us in the 2015 tourney. Cleanthony Early was one of the best juco transfers that translated fairly well for WSU.

This is my way of saying that I'm not sure about Bill Self and juco transfer. I'm a little concerned that we even have to scour the juco ranks, but gotta do what you gotta do....I guess.

Recruiting Master Thread Part Deux • Mar 31, 2017 03:54 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I agree with your basic take on Graham and Svi. However, Svi is holding and believe he can improve his stock next year. He'll be fine and will at least get some of that European money.

I do want to address your 4 spot issue. We will have a complete nightmare match-up with Billy P at the 4. He is 6-10 and plays like a freakin 3 guard. IF HCBS tries to play him at the 5, it will be a huge mistake. We have plenty of size with the other bigs at the 5. We don't need BP at the 5. BP is looking more and more like a LeBron/KD type player.

Lastly, I guess you're basing your academic issues on past history? I think we learned our lesson with Ayton. We tried to land Ayton and were the only team that showed any interest with him. Zona came in at the last minute and snatched him maybe due to our pause with his "academic" eligibility.

I'm not convinced Bragg can and will ever develop at this point. I do like your idea with Lightfoot and see him follow a 5th year senior type experience, call it the LL experience. Lightfoot is too light to bang inside right now. Hudy needs to Hudy-ize him. Remember, Jeff Withey never quite developed into the 5 that we all wanted. Withey never gained the weight needed to really bang, even though he did. However, Withey had those volleyball blocking skills that were perfect for his game. We also had a nasty bruiser in that little guy named Thomas Robinson.

I'm really really curious about Cunliffe. I am completely holding my breath and hope this kid is worth the transfer.

KU Players Leaving/Staying Tracker • Mar 30, 2017 02:00 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I was just thinking through Newman's situation. I can't help to think practicing and cutting his teeth with FM was tremendous. If you add in DG, it's really a great benefit to Newman. Something tells me after his initial pick and transfer, he has a little something for KU. He sees this as a great opportunity.

I think it's possible Malik Newman could aspire to following Frank's example on the court. Let's hope if we miss on any other guards, that Newman steps up and gives as much as Frank "the tank" Mason. Mason is an all out stud. It's time for Newman to put up or shut-up.

KU Players Leaving/Staying Tracker • Mar 30, 2017 01:44 AM

@Blown I'm not so worried about anyone leaving at this point. But it's safe to say that IF anyone leaves, it would almost have to be a small benefit. I'm more curious about any incoming than outgoing.

KU Players Leaving/Staying Tracker • Mar 30, 2017 01:40 AM

@BeddieKU23 I will wait for the fat lady to sing. I may not like the song, but until she sings...

KU Players Leaving/Staying Tracker • Mar 30, 2017 01:39 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I didn't know that about Maxwell. Wow...that was the shortest transfer ever.

KU Players Leaving/Staying Tracker • Mar 29, 2017 03:38 AM

We need Bragg with all his potential and blunders.

Svi stays another year. He's got a great chance to improve his stock and if not, he's guaranteed European money.

I like what I'm hearing from Trevon Duvall. Everyone has him going to Dook, but KU has a great chance at this point with Mason leaving. I don't think DG makes too much difference. Either way, Duvall gets some huge minutes if he can pick up Self's system like Mason.

I'm giddy about Billy Preston too. I see him as a match-up nightmare at the 4. Doke will share minutes at the 5, with Bragg spelling Preston at the 4. We will be deeper inside next season. I hope Maxwell and Lightfoot really develop to provide Doke some rest at the 5. I like some of Maxwell's clips. He looks to bring some real solid minutes inside. I'm loving our size and will have Self-ish type bigs. Our perimeter is going to be as dangerous too.

Coleby back too?

Serious signs of mental illness or mental breakdown.

Can't beat dumb luck and long rebounds

Guarantee the Ducks will set up for charges too. I hope our guys play smart and not fall for those stupid O charges.

@wrwlumpy That's who I thought.

Okay This Is Funny • Mar 25, 2017 10:09 PM

@jayballer54 The ball kid didn't seem like he cared. His body language was odd when the buzzer sounded.

Oregon Matchups • Mar 25, 2017 02:58 AM

BIG is off the menu and we now have ordered some Pac12. I don't think they are any better than the BIG.

Oregon Matchups • Mar 25, 2017 02:56 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm liking Coleby's apparent recovery. He is more aggressive and confident in each game. I hope he peaks this game and continues.

Day 10 Tournament Game Thread • Mar 25, 2017 02:41 AM

I was stoked today. I went to a leadership conference here in OKC. One of the guest speakers was Joe Washington. He told the story of how KU beat OU. I was Rock Chalkin' all day long to hear Joe Washington tell the story of how KU beat OU in football during his time at OU. However, they also won 2 Natl' Championships too. So I didn't press it much. I did speak to him during his book signing and all I said to him was Rock Chalk, and he laughed. He said, "Good luck in the NCAA tourney, I think you all can win it." It was fun.

Another funny story was a win against Misery. OU was down in Columbia and the play went to Joe Washington who ran in and scored the winning TD against Misery. Joe Washington used a term I've never heard before in my life. He said after that stunning loss, the stadium went quiet, and you coud, "hear a rat pissing on cotton." I died laughing.

Day 10 Tournament Game Thread • Mar 25, 2017 02:30 AM

Speaking of coaches. OSU picked their next coach. Pants just can't seem to get a break at his alma mater. The Animal Sports Radio of OKC talked all day long. Many OSU fans thought Pants should've gotten the job. They think the interview with Pants was an appeasement for some. Many alumni DO NOT want Pants to be the head coach of OSU.

Jim Traber (Former OSU baseball alum and local sports analyst) believes because Pants coached in AAU, he knows how to coach at this level. Poor Pants, always a bridesmaid and never a bride. Maybe when he gets his pants on right, he can coach some day. They basically allowed Pants to show at an interview and simply told him that he would not be the next head coach.

(

This is pretty much how the interview went between Doug Pants on Backwards Gotlieb and Mike Holder. There is a striking resemblance between Pants and Commodus.

Day 10 Tournament Game Thread • Mar 25, 2017 02:06 AM

@DanR I've always said it over the years that Drew is Barnes 2.0 Those two coaches have had some of the best talent in D1 over the years and they always seem to miss when it counts.

Washington Post gives KU some big love • Mar 25, 2017 02:04 AM

@approxinfinity Really? That's huge. Let's hope they can exploit that little crack and bust it wide open.

Day 10 Tournament Game Thread • Mar 25, 2017 01:59 AM

@wissox It's his X's and O's. He just can't perform at this level. Martin flat out coached him. PERIOD.

Day 10 Tournament Game Thread • Mar 25, 2017 01:57 AM

I just posted on another thread. I don't understand Faylor at all.

Okay This Is Funny • Mar 25, 2017 01:54 AM

Reading the POY chatter and if they have Ball going #2 over Jackson? I hate to say it, but you may just have your premature POY. I don't understand the love for this kid. He's done nothing like Frank. Frank has played WAY OVER and ABOVE this little Frosh. Please....if they give it to Ball, your bball is seriously flawed.

Hopefully, they will see the big picture and agree that Frank is the COMPLETE package. It may take a UCLA v. KU court settlement. I'm not saying the Ball kid isn't any good. But to say he earned the POY over Frank is absurd.

What about Faylor? Good grief. I'll never understand how they can play KU fairly well and then play against a SCarolina team so poorly. Once again, Drew just doesn't know X's and O's. Frank Martin out coached Drew all night.

@Hawk8086 With a heavy dose of Coleby. Hell, bring in Bragg to do some hacking

Sweet 16 Schedule • Mar 20, 2017 11:47 PM

@StLJhawk Yeah...that ACC was the strongest and dook was going to win it all based on the showing from their conference tourney. Oh and ISU replay KU to show who is truly the B12 Champion.

Oh wait....they LOST.

Sweet 16 Schedule • Mar 20, 2017 11:44 PM

@StLJhawk Heck...Dook losing made my bball year. Anything else is cake.

I am stoked about Mr Coleby. This guy wants a NC.

@BeddieKU23 Love Izzo and appreciate his tough coaching style. KU really needed this game folks. This game may set the tone for the rest of the tourney for KU.

@Crimsonorblue22 No...he strained his back or pulled a muscle on that play.

@Lulufulu I honestly thought they could. Even many MSU fans picked KU by 10. But I saw their 10 and raised them 10 and thought 20 was possible. I don't know that I actually picked 20, but come on even Izzo admitted this could get into this range. He didn't mention 20, but he said if they didn't play it would get ugly. It did.

Oh btw- Izzo got what he wanted...KU

@BShark MSU fans are fickle.

@DoubleDD Not I...Who said send him to the bench? SINNER
