@BShark It wasn't every play that we turned it over because if it was, we'd have zero points! Just felt like it.
@approxinfinity K's only hope after the half is to work the refs.
Looks like this team got coached up at half time
Our FT defense is pretty stout tonight.
Here's my rant on replay. Why is a play in the last two minutes of a game any more important than a call any other time? That out of bounds play should be reviewed. It's a potential 6 point swing in a game if they get a 3 out of it denying us the chance to get a 3. If you're going to have replays change the rules so a team can challenge twice in a game whenever.
It's gonna feel good when we win this game.
ESPN is so stupid. Go to a half screen while a basketball game is happening.
Stop talking about freaking college football.
@BeddieKU23 Who sucks?
@bmensch1 A little too early to tell if Wilson's going to work out don't you think?
First time I yelled at the TV all season. Has anyone ever seen a call like that?
Offensive foul
First shot as a Jayhawk! Way to make it count!
Duke fans throwing stuff on floor.
@Crimsonorblue22 I hate to be that guy, but I went back and watched. McCormack violated dukies vertical space. Pretty clear call.
They used up their quota of travel calls on us.
Who's #2? Oh, and newsflash Zion can jump.
@approxinfinity You can do that, but I really think it was a legit call. The three count didn't start with the scramble. It was definitely after that.
@approxinfinity DeSousa I think? His foot stayed in the lane which is a violation.
Just reviewed the 3 second call. Legit call.
Why did we just lose the ball? Stupid ESPn camera angles no clue.
Nice Drive!
It's been a long time since the end of last season.
Let's Geaux Jayhawks!
@nwhawkfan I've got the issues going back to around 1990. I lost a bunch before that in a move. Street and Smiths has always been the best to me. But the print keeps getting smaller, and in a dim gray font on the many lists of various players and stats. Very frustrating as my eye capabilities have diminished quite a bit over the years.
First thing I always look at is the top 20 hs seniors. Todays internet age makes most of them more recognizable, but back then it was always surprising to see a kid from Wyoming or wherever. I like looking back at my saved copies and seeing who their top 20 was and how many actually make it. Usually 5 or less per issue. Which of course means a lot of guys do make it who were totally under the radar when they were in HS.
I too need to pick up an issue before the season starts...tonight!
Great work! Duke hospital is where my grandmother died so I do have a soft spot for the institution. Grandpa got to know a cafeteria worker in that hospital named James Worthy!
It's time for KU to leave the Big12 and join the BIG which has its own network for any games CBS/ESPN/FS1/Fox doesn't pick up. I just looked at the schedule too and saw both WVU games and an ISU game on ESPN+. This AD, nice hire of Les Miles, poor management of the basketball TV schedule as the number of ESPN+ games almost doubling.
The thing is, someone above mentioning we'll have to start paying for our games. We already are paying ESPN through our cable/dish deals. I understand there's not enough channels to show every game, but in its infancy ESPN3 allowed you to log in through your cable provider and watch myriads of games. It was great! And logical since it limited the viewers to subscribers only. Now, well screw all of us subscribers, thanks for decades of paying for our channel, now you're going to pay us again.
And this is to pay a network that won't leave a blowout until it's over and then preempt our game to show Duke warming up. My level of dislike of espn grows by the year, yet if I want to watch my teams I've got to turn to that channel.
I just heard on gameday, "WHO IS K-STATE?" screaming at his players!
@BShark A lot of people are single issue voters on the right. Because of Trumps promises to do something about abortion many many people voted for him. I think a lot held their nose as they punched Trumps name in the ballot booth.
Congrats @approxinfinity! Magical time of year. You win a WS and now after a few days, the Jayhawks play! And when the Jayhawks win it all in April, baseball will be starting again!
@bskeet I think you're right. Hintz blew that game. I even think he hurt Greinke's fragile psyche by having Cole up throwing even though Zach had only given up 1 hit.
"For the love of money is the root of all evil." The corruption in our game will continue, it may look a little different but there will still be corruption.
I really hope Devonte can make a name for himself in the league.
@ajvan He did go 1-13 Saturday night!
Great tradition on this site! Always look forward to these.
@jayballer73 I'll admit I don't follow KU Football as closely. I didn't realize that as someone said we might have had 10,000 for a game like that in recent years. What i saw on TV didn't look like a decent crowd, it looked like a crappy 1980's (when I attended) crowd. It seems like others are thinking attendance is moving up and thought the crowd looked decent. This is a good sign! Hope your truck gets fixed!
@jayballer73 Didn't look like a decent crowd to me. Box score says 31,000. Exciting though none the less.
That poor boy from TTech that fumbled the blocked FG is the kid from our town in Louisiana whom my daughter graduated with 4 years ago. He's actually a very good player, but I suppose he'll be the subject of look how TTech lost this game stories.
@DanR Wow, hadn't heard about that. I understand player safety is important so we might as well just start putting flags on them and let them play flag football.
What's the rule? That guy fair caught it on the 1 yard line. He was not in the end zone.
@kjayhawks Yeah, my wife was looking at me like boy you gone lost your mind
Lets go D
Wow, this is fun!
The injured Techster graduated with my daughter from HS. Douglass Coleman of Zachary, LA!
@DanR Bunch of cheaters!
Perfect timing to discover a KU game on TV! TD!
@dylans I like factoids like that. In fact in the last 19 seasons the Yankees have won as many world series as the Angels, Royals, White Sox, Cubs, Phillies, Astros, Dbacks, and Marlins. Even though they spend way more, receive way more media attention, are shown more often on national TV, receive favorable timeslots for postseason games. I will ignore the fact that they won 3 of 4 WS during the last part of the 1990's!
My takeaway from the game was that I forgot about the game. Did we beat Purple Hayes St.?
@jayballer73 He's on the Bucks roster. They haven't played yet.
@approxinfinity Mad props to the Nats! Their roll reminds me of the Sox run in 05. 8 in a row!
Wiggins just missed another shot...
