The funny thing is I've always admired Indiana basketball. Part of it is the BIG fan in me, but I rank Bobby Knight as the greatest coach of the last 50 years after Wooden. I always enjoyed them. Not as much recently with their bad hires, but it's still nearly a blueblood type school.

@QuintLeo You're right! And none of them have won a national championship either. Heck other than Butlers magical two year run Indiana schools haven't barely sniffed the FF this century. An entire state 3 FF's in 20 years? You're surrounded by states with more success than Indiana.

Hint, if you're going to troll on a KU fan page made specifically for diehards of a great program, you're going to get beat up pretty bad. And we're all smart enough to recognize Indiana's special place in basketball history so you're barking up the wrong tree here bud.

Also it's funny how you didn't list Evansville in your list of Div 1 programs in the state. They just beat the #1 team in the country.

Dam Devonte G - - -nice start my man • Nov 14, 2019 10:02 PM

@mayjay No, but I might get out to a bulls game and see Devonte when he's in town next month. Hopefully frank gets back to the league.

Dam Devonte G - - -nice start my man • Nov 14, 2019 01:45 AM

Devonte started tonight. Doing pretty well with 16 points but only 2 assts.

Putting the game out of reach • Nov 13, 2019 05:36 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 But that has been a while and our coaches should have adjusted for that.

Sam Cunliffe: MIA • Nov 13, 2019 03:35 AM

Great stuff, Coby White hits 7 3's in the 4th quarter. Roy going nuts. Walks out on court during White's post game interview, gives him a hug and then walks away.

Sam Cunliffe: MIA • Nov 13, 2019 03:04 AM

Roy is at the Bulls game tonight. Not sure why other than to watch his player from last year White. Maybe he's recruiting Chicago.

Hilarious, just today I saw the ultimate jinx article on ESPN. Kentucky will probably stay undefeated for a long while with their easy schedule the next month and a half!

Putting the game out of reach • Nov 12, 2019 11:05 PM

I think the foot off the pedal analogy is true. The problem actually comes more on the offensive end than the defense. The O gets complacent. When buckets were coming seemingly without effort (think the 1st half of the semis in the 2008 tourney against UNC when we were up 40-16) and then players start getting a little fancy, forgetting fundamentals, trying to make sportscenter, and suddenly your comfy lead is down, the opposition is energized and you've got a ballgame on your hands.

Since you wondered if you notice it because you're hyper aware of what KU does, my Badger fandom has led me to observe it with them too! An hour after we lost to Duke, the Badgers led St. Mary's by a bunch and suddenly it disappeared into a disappointing loss!

Welcome Bryce Thompson • Nov 12, 2019 05:49 PM

Thompson's make good basketball players. I can't even think of a Thompson who was a chump so this is a good get.

@wrwlumpy Understandable mistake! I wouldn't have even known about it if I wasn't from Illinois! You're good man, keep up the good work!

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 12, 2019 05:39 PM

@kjayhawks Since I cheer for Chicago guys, I too was excited for him. I'd seen him play in HS and he looked really good when I saw him. But wow, he let the whole Windy City down last year!

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 12, 2019 02:43 AM

Announcer sounds surprised that Depaul is doing well with Charlie Moore on the bench. Apparently he never watched KU play last year.

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 12, 2019 02:16 AM

You're right. Trying not to be one right now as I watch Iowa. (hate them!)

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 12, 2019 02:14 AM

Lotta jerks out there.

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 12, 2019 02:11 AM

Are we going to argue about jerkiest fans? Making fun of someone's deceased dad is something I don't ever remember the antlers doing, but I guess I wouldn't put it past them.

Other Big-12 action • Nov 12, 2019 01:44 AM

Texas Tech plays here at Depaul in a few weeks. Not sure I'll be able to go but this game has me really intrigued about Depaul.

Other Big-12 action • Nov 12, 2019 01:26 AM

@jayballer73 Yeah, I love it. 22 point blowout so far. Refs trying to give gifts to the suckeyes and they're still not doing anything with it.

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 12, 2019 01:05 AM

@BShark Not sure when you came of age in this world but Steve Kerr's dad was assassinated by the PLO in 1985 or so. When Steve played against ASU their fans were chanting PLO at him during pregame shootaround. Worst I've ever seen.

Other Big-12 action • Nov 12, 2019 01:02 AM

Charlie Moore playing on FS1 right now against Iowa.

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 11, 2019 10:43 PM

@BShark Seriously? Again, don't post it, but what do they have to do with this story?

Charlie Moore transferring • Nov 11, 2019 08:00 PM

One of Charlies teammates is former KU commit Markese Jacobs of whom I was super excited to see in Lawrence. Thinking we didn't miss much after he tailed off his senior year of HS.

@nuleafjhawk It's not visible, but you're right, it is about K so......!

Snowy today/cold Question about Doke • Nov 11, 2019 05:03 PM

Probably ways to research it. He'll never improve. It's a lost cause unfortunately and so we'll see a lot of poke a doke this year I'm afraid.

@nuleafjhawk Sorry bro, it wouldn't let me private message you but I find that comment inappropriate. It's your first inappropriate comment in 10 years so that aint bad, I write one about every other hour somewhere, but just saying.

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 11, 2019 04:57 PM

@Woodrow As a Badger fan too, it's hitting close with the saga of their assistant coach Howard Moore.

Sad story from Michigan St. • Nov 11, 2019 03:06 PM

Their star player Cassius Winston lost his brother when he was hit by an Amtrak over the weekend.

I hate to say it but we're playing the Monmouth of NJ, not Illinois which is a dinky little small school in Western Illinois :(

KU soccer • Nov 11, 2019 06:31 AM

@bskeet Womens. KU doesn't have a mens team unfortunately.

KU soccer • Nov 11, 2019 05:59 AM

This is great news!

Sparta Game Thread • Nov 09, 2019 02:47 AM

Wow we just about beat the three team in the country and I’m thinking I’m reading the game thread of some also ran moribund program.

Sparta Game Thread • Nov 09, 2019 02:27 AM

Can’t watch but i am not liking what I’m reading here.

Virginia • Nov 08, 2019 03:23 AM

Conference game 1st game of the season, anyone notice that? Cool! I like it!

Virginia • Nov 08, 2019 03:09 AM

@dylans Ahem, I'm a little experienced with this. It started with Tony's Dad at UW. Bo came in after the 1 year failure of Brad Soderburg and made sure that low scoring, and winning basketball stayed in Madison. While I understand the sentiment of watching a 90-88 game, I really began to appreciate the virtues of an elite defense frustrating opposing offenses, and grinding it out to another 52-47 affair. It might not work in Lawrence, but I think I have to go with others and say I'd welcome Tony to Madison, er, I mean Lawrence!

Dam Devonte G - - -nice start my man • Nov 07, 2019 12:46 AM

@KirkIsMyHinrich That video is awesome! What a fun player to watch!

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 07, 2019 12:39 AM

I aint blaming the refs but just doing a little what if.

What if the end of the first half was reviewable? ESPN sure didn't want to give us the replay and damage Dukes sterling reputation, but I sure wish we'd have had at least a chance to score 2 at the end of the half.

I mentioned this on the game thread. I confirmed this sequence with my DVR. KU FT good. Duke guy grabs the ball out of bounds and throws it in bounds to a guy who does their inbounds passes. The guy who got the pass goes out of bounds to then complete a 2nd inbounds play. Total violation. Total botched call by an official who is supposed to be watching for such things. KU had no back court pressure might be the stripes reason for not watching it. A little while earlier something similar may have happened, I do remember thinking, wait, what was that? It may have even been us doing it? But it sure as heck went uncalled. Just for the record, Duke went down the floor and turned it over to us, so this is somewhat of a moot point, but it might have been a big missed call.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 03:04 AM

Devonte Graham scored 35 tonight in an overtime loss.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 02:56 AM

@DanR Agreed. This is almost like a practice game. Good for the film room to teach. We will improve from this. We've seen some ugly openers in this thing in past years and recovered.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 02:19 AM

I don't think we can blame the Duke whistle on this one. Duke is ranked 3 in the country. Maybe the pollsters are right and we just lost to a really good team in our first outing of the season?

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:56 AM

Moss should be able to help this team.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:50 AM

I should go back to grading papers.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:50 AM

They didn't overturn the call at the end of the half.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:44 AM

Duke just inbounded the ball after our last FT's to a guy inbounds who walked out of bounds. NO CALL.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:41 AM

ESPN box says it's 4 on Doke.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:39 AM

Why do I get so worked up over a game a bunch of teenagers are playing?

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:37 AM

This comeback not induced by the duke whistle. It's self induced.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:36 AM

@approxinfinity Well it is in Madison Square Garden. Refs usually don't call those there.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:34 AM

@BShark We were 8-11 at the half

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:33 AM

Just missed a bunch of FTs. Big lead disappears.

Kansas vs Duke Game Thread: • Nov 06, 2019 01:31 AM

I don't know why y'all dislike Bilas. I don't see much bias in him.
