Shut up announcer
Michigan St. close to losing 3rd straight. LSU, top 25 all year is playing their 2nd top 25 team all year. It would be their first top 25 win all year.
I could coach this team today. Give it to Doke. Every time.
ESPN has ticked me off twice today, and once in the week to come. ESPN main page makes you click on NCAAM to find the KU score. 3rd ranked team in the country. Talking heads on half time "if a team wins the ACC they ought to be a 1 seed". Tuesday, will have to watch the game off my computer making me pay more for a service I already pay through the nose for.
rest of team 4-22 Doke 6-8.
@bcjayhawk That's not LSU's floor.
For some reason since Saturday my computer has one of those security warnings and it won't let me past it. I can get it on my phone, or my desktop here at work, but not my Mac at home. Not sure if it's related. Thanks Approx!
@BeddieKU23 Not remembering he was suspended for the first one. That one was interpreted by some as a two childhood friends messing around on the court, which apparently he and the Hauser kid were. Of course that incident was a costly one in that game against Marquette.
@BeddieKU23 Yeah, the team is in dissaray a bit. There's discontent on the message boards with Gard. King proves there's some discontent on the team with him. Rod Strickland's son left last season after 1 unproductive season and blamed Gard.
Like KU, Wisconsin has played one of the top schedules in the country, last I looked UW was #1 SOS and KU #3. That's taken a beating on the team.
Davison is one of my favorite players on the team and I've always bristled at the criticism towards him. The thing the other night may or may not have been dirty. I guess when you're hand goes there, and i'm not sure why it did, people are going to assume the worst, and that's fair I guess in this case. He's an indespensible player on the Badgers. With the Badgers SOS, they should make the tourney with about 6-7 more wins. UW is through the most difficult stretch of their schedule after MSU tomorrow. So it's doable, but probably not the year for a deep tourney run.
The Duke loss was the only full strength loss we've had.
@Marco You do know it's on ESPN2 right?
@dylans Wave the wheat!
@DanR Bill Walton rants about that a lot. I agree.
Announcers keep saying Brown, but I'd pronounce Braun like Brawn. Who's right?
When did it start? I know I could get out a calculator but maybe you know off the top of your head.
At least we're going to make Kentucky wait a long time to get to see their game.
Tennessee has 0 bench points
That was a foul, dumb foul
Goaltend
Calling Mitch Lightfoot
@DCHawker So is Tennessee!
I lived for 11 years in the south and found it to be quite unfriendly. Southern hospitality was not evident to us. Our only real friends were outsiders like us. Church potlucks were always cliques, and large extended families sitting together. I don't miss them at all.
@benshawks08 At first I thought that was a pic of the impeachment hearings.
Word is Silvio threw a punch, and just like every shot he's taken this year, it missed.
Did Weber get scratched on the chin?
Fran has droven, driven me insane this game. Ya'll complained about him for years and I finally saw the light. He acted like a Texas cheerleader.
We should shoot FT's from the 3 line. We have a higher percentage there.
Bowing to pressure from Jayhawk Nation, the KU athletic department and ESPN have decided that they would no longer put KU on ESPN+. Instead in a "win win compromise" according to KU Athletic Director Jeff Long, all KU games that aren't being picked up by CBS will be played on ESPN, at midnight on tape delay. Long is said to be ecstatic that Jayhawk Nation will once again be able to watch games for free on the network that they already pay for.
In an unrelated story, ESPN announced they will now be known as the BSPN.
That game was so bad Jeff Long owes me a 5 dollar refund.
This is the worst decade of KU basketball ever.
Coming out of hibernation for this one topic because I'm really aggravated by it. Jeff Long says this: “Kansas being on is a tribute to our success and the demand that people have to watch Kansas basketball,” he said. “So you can understand why ESPN and Big 12 Now chose Kansas.”
Have you ever heard such a ridiculous statement? I mean a move that makes our team lest visible, less relevant he tries to spin it into something somehow good. A good AD would have gone ape crap on ESPN's people/Big 12 people and said something.
I've paid for ESPN for the last 15 years or so. Now as a reward they tell me I've got to pay more to watch my favorite team. It's the problem with businesses like this. There's no one really to complain to. You get treated badly at Walmart, or Culvers and you go to the manager and register a complaint and at least get heard. How do you complain about ESPN? Drive to Bristol and ask to see the boss?
To top it off, a marquee game on our schedule with the two marquee coaches in the conference and no one out of WVU and KU is going to watch. Now I went and checked Duke, none, I guess the ESPN owned ACC network takes care of that. Same with Kentucky and the SEC network. MSU gets the benefit of the fabulous BTN, and we get stuck with deciding whether to pony up a relatively small fee.
So far I haven't paid this year of course meaning I've missed a bunch of games already which I hate. Tomorrow I'll probably find a 5 dollar bill laying around and pay up, but I won't be happy about it. Jeff Long, if you're reading this, do us all a favor and quit. This is just a job for you, go back to Ohio.
(hi everyone, still reading)
Some of You guys are pathetic. Our best defender goes down at the half and weapon and suddenly everyone turns on the team. One reason I quit this site. I still pay attention to what goes on here, but goodness people, we lost one of our experienced starters and some of you have just jumped ship.
So the night I come to see DG he’s not doing much☹️
Going to see Devonte play Friday night against the Bulls. Hope he has a big night.
Milwaukee is the armpit of Wisconsin. The only nondistinct and ugly part of the state.
Depaul game is in Chicago
Doesn't anyone know how to guard the 3 point line?
See you KUBuckets, it's been real. One person here wrecks it for me. I'll check back in 6 months see if it's any better. I'll miss ya'll, but.....It's just not worth it.
@jayballer73 Get lost.
@Fightsongwriter But it was a legal basketball play. So he violated an unwritten rule, but legal. I watch these games because it's a game, it's fun, I thought it was hilarious. There's definitely two takes on this, I understand yours too. But I don't fault a kid for making us smile.
I'm done!
I hate unwritten rules of sports. Baseball is full of them of course. Don't bunt to break up a nohitter, don't steal when leading by x number of runs late, don't walk across the mound. When it's live action, do what the rules allow and don't look like sissies complaining about it when said player makes a play within the rules!
A second part of this is I hate the butthurt culture of sports. Southerns football coach got all upset because the other team ran onto the field and crossed the logo in the middle of the turf. So a grown man starts whining because some college kids ran on some paint? NFL had to ban taunting because players who weigh 300 pounds and can run fast and is making 50 million bucks are getting butt hurt because some guy running into the end zone celebrates?
You actually do see losing players give pressure during the dribble it out phase. And you see offensive players try to prevent what happened the other night.
@jayballer73 There's a huge difference between doing it when you're winning and when you're losing. No I didn't appreciate Greene doing it then at all and still don't. Friday made me smile, because as @drgnslayr said "you get a chance to dunk at AFH and talk smack, you do it".
@Hawk8086 I can see that viewpoint. But it just made me laugh when I realized what happened from this post! Still does.
@Crimsonorblue22 How was it poor sportsmanship? His team was losing. I don't blame him one bit.
@kjayhawks You mean a monmouth kid didn't steal it from our guy at the end? Forget answering that! I just went and checked the game thread and it did happen.
I think it was hilarious. I see some of the bucketites were a little upset but I don't think it was so bad.
A friend pointed out two errors. Cheick is with the Suns and I totally whiffed on Oubre's productive play with the Suns as well. Thanks @JayHawkFanToo!
Just got home and looking at box scores from the NBA.
While we don't have a large number of alums right now on rosters our guys seem to be thriving. The best news to me is BMac got a start for Houston tonight and scored 21. Graham scored 18 and had 10 assists. Embiid scored over 30 with a bunch of boards. Wiggins didn't play for some reason, but he's done better this season than in past years. The Morrises keep contributing, hard to keep track where they're at as they seem to change teams each season. Svi barely playing in Detroit. Cheick cashing Cheicks from the end of Houston's bench.
No P5 offers? Sounds like we got ourselves our next Graham or Mason.
