Well, in this case there is a good chance he wasn't interested. The reason KU puts out so many offers in the first place is to try and determine who is really interested.

@BeddieKU23 I want skilled, mobile 4s more often than not. I think if he is 6'8'' he offers great line-up flexibility at almost no cost. When you can get away with playing big you can plug him in at the three, when you are playing Iowa State, he could be great at the 4.
All of this is down the road of course. I think he's still a :red_circle: :shirt: candidate next year.

@ajvan Definitely not putting it all on Self. As mentioned Grimes was simply too slow. It's also possible he let the other people in his ear saying Self was misusing him convince him of that.
Agree strongly on Self RE player roles. He wasn't going to play Grimes at the point when he had Dotson. But Grimes had played the point his whole life before last year. Kinda made it a bad fit.

Players sign because it's part of the system and generally viewed as the thing to do. I would agree that the smart thing to do for top players would be to not sign. I'd say only the top players because only they can get away with it but as we found out recently the NLI doesn't really protect the player either. Coach K asked Ellis to pound sand so he did.

I always felt Wilson was one that got away. Had a sort of Tyler Davis feel to it in a way.
