Too injured for the combine and not enough playing time to improve his poor draft stock from last year would be my guess. That’s all it is though.

I'm guessing his circle realizes he won't be playing in the NBA ever. So the choice is do they want to have him go pro in another country and start cashing checks. I would guess Doke loves Lawrence. Hope he stays.

I'd love to get Beverly too and that's a winnable recruitment but man that would take some legendary finessing to get Stanley, RJ and Beverly and I just don't see it happening.

@dylans Grimes is the most gone ever. I think if he could have, he wouldn't have bothered with a year of college.

Getting good players that stay multiple years is the key. Look at UNC and Nova during their titles. KU's player retention hasn't been great.

Exactly. Just goes to show that some people are going to think what they will, and no evidence can change that. Grimes lacked the speed to play PG at the D1 level, let alone the NBA level. Honestly Grimes' speed made him a 3/wing, if anything. You are what you can defend.

RE Grimes there is a rumor that he didn't even attend a class all 2nd semester. And, not even surprising here that his dad and handler still believe he is an NBA LEVEL PG (I know...I know...) and that Self mishandled him.
