Agbaji bricked a layup and a 3. Hes off to a great start
Skylar Mays has some Marcus Smart faking in him

For sure. Hope we don’t get Mitch Ballock’d
I cant imagine we let that kind of talent go somewhere else but we may also have a log jam at the wing. Can he be a small ball 4? Athletically I'd say yep
Brown can show up anytime he wants, hopefully a permanent home
KU game wont be starting on time, at least on TV
Bracketology currently has 11. I dont think that holds
Moss expected to start
Florida at home with the #1 team there has a big chance to make a statement. I think they have been a team getting some hype due to improved play from a very young team. They inserted a Top 40 big into the lineup alongside Blackshear which seems to be working. Lots of star talent on that squad
Self was on Gameday. Good stuff.
I'm sure Self will stand by his players. However the AD, Board of Regents etc probably dont feel as much of a commitment when the product (KU) has yet again been run through the media mill. It doesnt look good.
What's the punishment for Gordon breaking an "unwritten rule" in that situation. Unfortunately the only punishment that could be enforced would be Bruce Weber internally dealing with it, ex: "Bruce Weber announces Gordon will miss Saturday's game due to violation of team rules" (or something along the lines of that). He has the power to deter that behavior from happening again. I think we all know Bruce isn't going to sit him regardless of whether his action was the one that set everything in motion.
The funny part in Whitney leaving UK at least for now is that him leaving didn't necessarily indicate he was transferring. His stock has plummeted to late 2nd round (and that's a bunch of bologna in itself). Wonder if he blames Cal, ha.

You'd have to think you see a UK player defect sometime this season. Juzang, Brooks and Whitney have all gotten off to a rough start. Add Allen into the mix at some point. All play the same position.
Then you have Askew, Fletcher, Boston and Clarke all coming in next year.
Seems like at least two on the current roster will be defects.
God I'm good.
What else you got?
Can you predict a National Championship for the good guys. I suggest you make it happen
Lost in the Sauce:
Illinois Alan Griffin gets suspended two games for stepping on the chest of a Purdue player during their game Tuesday.
Something was in the water on Tuesday.
Everest (2015) version & Vertical Limit are two others I did enjoy with tons of snow
If your into scary movies (I'm not) but the first snow movie that popped into my head was Stephen King's "Storm of the Century".

I know it's stunning
Illini are full up right now but if Whitney comes calling those things will work themselves out

With the chair as the lasting image from this event it may not be up to Self whether Silvio is on the roster after this season.
If you break it down to Eastern Conference and by his position he's Top 10 in almost every category.
7th in ppg, 3rd assists per game, 1st in 3's (both made pg & total makes), 5th in double doubles, Top 10 in rebounds.
I figure he won't make the All-Star Game, he's just not popular enough to leap a Lowry or Kemba but he's definitely played well enough to be in the discussion. Hopefully he does make the 3 pt contest.
With what's returning playing 4 guards is the way to go. Garrett, Thompson, Agbaji, Braun, Enaruna- that's the core of the team right there in the backcourt. That's without mentioning Harris & Wilson. We don't need 7 guys fighting for 3 spots so it would seem natural that the staff tries to cross develop Tristan/Wilson due to their height as the 4th guard. That way you still have 5 guards for 3 spots.
I think a transfer big that's athletic and has some skill around the rim would really give this group a boost. I think Dave will continue to get better but I just don't see him being able to do it on his own. The drop off from Doke is looking scary next season. I am intrigued by 5th year Prison Mitch. We know what intangibles he brings. He was developing a 3 pointer in year 3. I see him being a matchup 4 and Dave's primary backup at the 5. But that's where a veteran big that could play 10-12 minutes a game could be handy. If Silvio doesn't return we are not that big of a team and I think Self would explore getting a 6'9 + guy. I see Muscadin as a redshirt candidate.
There is a lack of options at the moment. Unless JT Thor becomes an option again the Top 100 is bare for any impact bigs. Maybe Self can find an Euro that is ready to go or just get involved with any bigs that come available in the spring through the coaching carousel or the transfer market.
Hopefully Devonte is on the All-Star Reserves list announced Jan 30th
Hes an McDonalds All American. Congrats Bryce wooo

I hope we at least pursue that though...
Remember that Shaq was a Reebok dude in the NBA. Just saying. Shaq is worth $400M so they don't NEED the money.
I just think if Bill called we could probably get them to listen.
KU did recruit him a little bit.
I haven't seen him since he left HS where he looked like an intriguing prospect. A modern big, a lot different from his Dad. I wonder how much his development was impacted by the Heart Issue and losing his freshman year. It's clear he didn't mesh with Cronin well enough to stick it out since he wasn't getting a lot of playing time. Will be interesting to see if he stays West where he's from or tries to find a different situation East.
Yea I think he still has his intrigue considering all of the things he's had to go through this year. And I think Cronin is such a smashmouth basketball guy. Even worse than Self or Tony Bennett. That is definitely not a natural fit for his skillset.
I do wonder if he's willing to leave the coast. It's likely he wouldn't have to. USC, Oregon, Arizona and Gonzaga would all be places he could go and would lean into his skillset.
Could he transfer in-conference though since he's not a graduate.
San Diego St could be an option with the season they are having
At least there was a Statement. Haven't seen a peep from the Kansas St coaches or players. Where's their accountability?
This is definitely Strike #2 since he's been here. Strike 1 you can debate how much is his fault, Strike 2 you can't.
The chair photo will always be there. Definitely a black eye to the program.
Where was the accountability from K-St's assistants to stop the players on the bench from engaging Silvio? Silvio made a bad choice (standing over, taunting) and followed it with more bad choices. Hard to pin that on Self but I suppose you can if you want. Self did get in the melee and try and stop him. He wasn't absent once it got out of hand.
A 12 game suspension should be sufficient deterrent to this kind of acts. We have no idea what he's said to the guys behind closed doors regarding taunting, etc.

@mayjay Interesting to hear. I always thought Frank was over the top. I'm sure he is a good person and has his player's best interests in mind, but he goes too far with the outbursts...IMO.
still is going nuts. He was losing it during the Kentucky win
I agree we don't need Ochai to always score. His defense has been mostly really good. Against K-St he was really aggressive and you could tell the difference in energy and he rebounded at a high level. The jump shot just looks so funky from catch to release (reminding of Garrett his first two seasons really). I would take the energy & aggressiveness from him most nights and be happy because I know in the flow of the game he's going to find a way to do some good things because effort is not a problem. I just really think he's a consistent jumper away from giving the team the 3rd option that teams cannot take away. You look at the teams that have defended KU the best, they can limit Doke's paint touches and pressure Dotson enough with help to take away his tremendous speed and driving ability but KU having that 3rd option that's going to consistently get you 10-15 a night would really be the cherry on top.
This team can still get to another level.
This is a dominant defense. Hopefully we can say Elite by season's end.
KU has two of the best players in the country at PG & C. Our C is improving by the week especially defensively.
Two reserves have cranked it up a notch (Moss & Braun) and they are our best shooters.
The wildcard is Ochai who's having in my opinion a mirror of Wayne Selden's 2nd year here. Whatever the staff has to do to find him a jumpshot needs to be explored.
This team isn't perfect but I'm hopeful
Self will have to plan resting Doke around TV timeouts. He already is playing over 30 minutes a game (6 of last 8).
Tristan makes sense defensively with his length but it will be interesting to see if he can operate the offense at that position. At least Self has 4 days to figure that out.
Moss starts, 4 guards. Just Braun & Enaruna off the bench. Going to be an interesting game
For reference, KU at #1 in Kenpom (+30.27) would be 5th last year just ahead of Texas Tech.
Duke #2 right now would be 7th.
Gonzaga #3 would be 11th.
Dayton #4 would be 12th.
Baylor #5 would be 13th.
Interesting
Shaq's son is leaving UCLA. I'd imagine LSU swoosh's in here

Man silvio's sincere statement reminds of all he has been through here. Hopefully he can put this behind him.
PER dropped him 2 points for the chair drop & missed attempts
JT Thor, Cliff Omoruyi the only uncommitted Top 100 bigs out there.. Both waiting to pick which Nike Check they want!
Greg Brown would look nice in a KU uni. Too bad we can't pay him what he wants.

Silvio suspended indefinitely, per Self. Pending Big 12 review.
Yeah the indefinitely tag seemed like the easiest way to make a swift move so they can continue to review everything
Lost in the Sauce from last night was TCU getting a 11pt win at home over Texas Tech.
Tech is now 3-3, TCU is 4-2.
Iowa St got a win over Oklahoma St by 7 at home. ISU is 2-4, OSU 0-6. Setting up their Super bowl on Monday.
Obviously, how do you think he gets players to play for him
I think the Big-12 gives Silvio (x amount of game suspension) but following the announcement Silvio is indefinitely suspended by Bill Self. Would be shocked if he played again this season. The intent to use the chair says it all.
Dave is probably facing 1-3 games (or more). Reckless behavior from him as well.
Just saw another replay focusing on the Marcus/Dave in the corner and it doesn't appear Marcus did anything. At the end he starts boxing out

Marcus was in the corner doing something to I believe James Love. Dave was also in that corner. It wasn't all on the up and up. If I was reviewing tape, I think it would be debatable on him getting a 1 game suspension.
that's just lovely. it was just a really ugly situation
If you focus on Marcus he definitely wasn't innocent.
Simultaneously Dave comes in and makes it worse. One view looked like he threw a punch.
Ochai straight up pushed James Love and launched him, Marcus & Dave followed him after with Silvio.
Dave & Silvio were out of control that much is known
Yeah in conference play he hasn't been good.
I thought last night he was really aggressive in the beginning, disappeared for a while but rebounded and defended. Missing way too many open shots though
PER's after the Sunshine ****show
First Overall PER's. Doke & Dot continue to lead the way.

Conference Play only PER's.
Notice the 2 point drop from Silvio. I'd imagine the analytics accounted for picking up a chair and not using it and some missed landed punches.
On a good note- play Christian Braun. PER near 20 after last night.
After the sunshine brawl- Kenpom #1 still, #10 Offense, #2 Defense
Marcus was in the corner doing something to I believe James Love. Dave was also in that corner. It wasn't all on the up and up. If I was reviewing tape, I think it would be debatable on him getting a 1 game suspension.

is he physically ready ?
Nope but this changes everything now. KU may have 7 eligible players for the foreseeable future. There's an opportunity if he can get healthy.
