Not a lot of PT available for a 5 in 24-25 :)
@nuleafjhawk yeah we haven’t been to a bowl in like 6 months smh
I remember redshirt chatter before 19-20. How far we’ve come
@rockchalkjayhawk THIS. Even the Bahamas Bowl is a disaster. The experience sucks for players, it’s super expensive for travel, and nobody attends.
@jayballer67 I think he’s visiting next weekend but idk if that ever got locked down. Seems like we have a better shot at Stewart
@AsadZ well, that and State urging caution when traveling there.
If the Big 12 wants a rebrand, the Too Clever By Half Conference makes a lot of sense
guys guys it’s fine this is just yormark being 87 steps ahead of everyone and not just trying to get attention
Hopefully the teams are either sequestered or have really strong security.
@jayballer67 for sure. I really like our chances with a RB and LB as well. Both named Stewart, oddly enough.
@DanR dang I didn’t know The Outhouse was that popular 😏
Watching the Finals now, and man if KJ can be Aaron Gordon lite we might have something. Positional defense and the occasional ability to rip and run would be great for us
Think we get 2-3 commits from this weekend group
@BShark would be a very good development if Timberlake was a bench spark plug. AS IVE BEEN SAYING 😜
@dylans $2 Tuesdays at Sandbar were dangerous 😂
@BShark great. Just got a house right off downtown yay. At least my fav (the Lyon) is still there
Went a couple times, never thought it was anything special. Much preferred downtown joints like Burger Stand, Dempsey's, and Free State. I get why they don't but a downtown Hawk Talk would be pretty cool.

@TYOHawk same. If it’s this kid or eat the whole penalty sign me up for the latter
He’s a body I guess. I think not going after another big in the portal was a mistake but oh well, on we go. KJ is going to be pretty good but still, there’s not a lot behind him or Hunter.
That’s incredible. Lance is the 🐐
@jayballer67 we can absolutely get Marsh. The numbers are a little misleading since it’s one more spot at a couple positions (WR, RB, LB, S). I still think 15ish HS plus 10ish portal adds. The LB from Junction is an exception IMO. He’s a take no matter what since he’s just a DUDE. And super versatile.
OL is my biggest concern right now, especially since Joey Baker retired and we just lost a couple targets. Might have to do some heavy lifting in the portal there.
This is as big a visit weekend as any since the Louisiana Purchase days under Beaty. The list is just silly
@wissox and I read yesterday it has signs of going supernova fairly soon!
If he’s right about basketball being ascendent we won’t be long for this league
Not by a long shot in 24. Still don’t have any commits after all!
Got our man at the Hawk spot. Kamara is gonna be a DUDE
@mayjay gaaaaahhh. The gist is we’re playing 3 games starting August 1. We get 10 practices in July to get ready. No info on streaming or anything yet.

I see we're at the "Merv is a top 30 recruit" part of the offseason
Bill is making me consider cracking open a beer.
I recommend The Athletic for weekday consumption. Their golden and IPA are very good. Plus no booze and only 60 calories!

Playing some 2K tonight. Had a banger going against Arizona and the guy that iced it with an offense rebound and some free throws? Kevin freaking McCullar
@jayballer67 if it was today I think he’d go to Cal. He’s coming off some injury problems so he’s not as highly thought of as before last year. He needs a healthy senior year for his own sake. I think from KU’s end they just need to see him stay on the field and then we’d have a really good chance
@kuballin10 I don’t think it was an either/or thing. Kev will play anywhere from 2-4 and Kaluma is strictly a 4. But also not as good a rebounder as Kevin. So if we’re going after another 4 (😉) Kaluma wouldn’t be a fit at all
@bskeet Juan is career 39% from 3 so I’m guessing yes on that
@BShark no two ways about it, he fills our biggest need. We needed more skill from the 3/4 spot.
I'm not going to get too hung up on whether Kev shoots 30 or 35% from 3. At his volume last year that difference would be... 15 points (he scored 364). He's such an asset otherwise that those 15 are easily made up vs a sharpshooter who can't guard, rebound, handle, or move without the ball like Kev.
@approxinfinity A+ pull
I’ve heard this doesn’t affect the pursuit of Nelson. Pullin is off the table now since they wanted a skilled piece on the wing and they went out and got the best one available.
Bill is on a heater

@rockchalkjayhawk nope, all the same rules apply. Academics and Compliance are buried in transcript evals right now to make sure enough credits transfer for the recruit to be immediately eligible. For example, if an athlete takes a junior/senior level course at another school and it only transfers as a 300 level to KU, could make the athlete not eligible since they may not have enough credits to have made degree progress. Sometimes if you read “School X is no longer in the picture for Player Y” that can be the reason.
Thanks for the scoop, @FarmerJayhawk .
This portal stuff i'm sure is making it challenging and adding staff to all sports compliance staffs.
For sure. My sister runs football academics at a G5 and her thoughts on the portal cannot be repeated in polite company

As it turns out there are indeed academic requirements for student athletes. Shocker to many that the money you spend on tickets and merch go to specialized counselors and other staff that guide athletes in all sports toward graduation, and that they graduate at a higher rate than other students. More at 10.
@benshawks08 give me Nelson and McCullar. We’d be an absolute menace on D
@BShark if he’s going to take more classes at KU might as well come back next fall 😉
@Texas-Hawk-10 lol never heard that one before!
