“Yak in a trash can” is a rite of passage for many players. 😎
Hawaii governor Green said the island will “probably” use hotels to house those who lost their homes. Ergo, reservations may be cancelled?
Self was livid when the team allowed 2 straight baskets on inbounds-under-the-basket plays by the Bahamian team. No more of those after the KU time out, if IIRC.
@wissox - game over. Check KUAthletics.com for a replay later.
Great game! Didn’t completely fold in the waning minutes. Good sign.
@approxinfinity - best way to determine regular season winner.
New Big 12/16. 4 pods or 2 divisions?
From what I read, it looks like AZ won’t come to the Big 12 without AZ State, as they share a common board of regents. ???
@FarmerJayhawk - I was imagining next week. Classes start 8/14. Earlier than that (after their return from PR) would give more bonding time.
Any word regarding when Furphy might join the team?
On to UConn!
@FarmerJayhawk - source?
Bill Self: “I love how fast we are!” 😎
Points coming in bunches! Wonder what the 3pt % is?
@JAYHAWKFAN214 - understood. Classes start August 21. So, sometime in the next two weeks, his whole world will change.
When will he join the team? Obviously too late for Puerto Rico. And…. He has some catching up to do.
Whining works!
Apple TV is offering a season of all PAC12 games for $99.99. $8/month for sports and $7/month for AppleTV+ is $15. It appears to cover all televised PAC12 sports.
Would you take this deal for the Big 12?
@Hawk69 - does this link work for all season games, even if out-of-area?
Verlander to Houston.
I’m concerned that if Oregon and Washington jumped to the Big 12, they would leave as soon as the B1G asked them. I’d rather do without them joining the Big 12.
Check out KUAthletics.com.
@jayballer67 - what about NIL money? Had he received any?
@approxinfinity said in Mid summer boredom post…what’s your favorite KU dunk?:
I enjoyed the passion and confidence that Withey had as an upper classman
One of my favorite players!
@bskeet said in Welcome, Marcus Adams Jr.!:
Wow. We hardly knew ye has never been truer.
Very odd.
I will say that if you were a freshmen coming into the team right now, you would not get the typical team greeting or orientation.
The team is non-organic in a way teams rarely are. There are lots of older players. They are all fighting for legitimacy and credibility, and the majority have experience fighting for minutes at other schools in other systems.
Other than DeJuan (and he seems like he may be naturally reticent), there aren't guys who are in a "safe" position who can help another kid to work through this or that or explain the culture, etc. In other words, not a lot of mentorship for the 17-18 year olds.
You don’t think KJ, McCullars or Dickinson are wiling to do that?
This summer is anything but boring…
So did he enroll and take classes? Is he entering the portal?
EDIT: Adams did enroll and sign his NLI.
@Jethro - better…
Skimmed Gradey’s game. He played about 30 minutes. Didn’t look good at all…
NCAA is proposing to shorten the transfer window in all sports to 30 days. Circulating the draft rules soon.
I’m seeing today that Kyle Cuffe Jr, (Syracuse) broke a hand and is out until the end of July. Kid can’t catch a break. The article said he still has 4 years eligibility.
@wissox - IIRC, there were a lot more students at every game and it was loud! I could get within 2-3 rows behind the baskets. I don’t think we thought much about Blue Blood status. After the run in ‘71 (?) where they lost to UCLA and Western Kentucky, there was a pretty good drop off in talent for a couple of years. Ted Owens saw more NCAAT games but was really inconsistent. Seems KU restored Blue Blood status when Larry Brown came around.

My earliest outstanding memory is Bud Stallworth dropping 50 on Fizzou in February, 1972. I also have memories of KU in 70-71 with Pierre Russell, Big Dave Robisch and Roger Brown. Great teams!
@BeddieKU23 -PITA? Why?
@Crimsonorblue22 -“ An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed minimum deal for one year that can convert to a two-way contract prior to the beginning of the regular season. It allows teams to take a look at players in summer league and training camp without including them on the 15-man roster or using either two-way slot.”
Who did not get drafted and is eligible to return to school?
Thanks, Farmer & BShark!
@BeddieKU23 said in ZACH CLEMENCE COMING BACK?:
This is one of the weirdest one's I've seen.
I would like to know whether the redshirt is because of the sort-of-transfer rule applying to him now or some plan for Zach after this year.
If it's the former, ha, wow. If it's the latter, so much changes in a year. Hard to imagine he won't be recruited over again next year.
Per ON3 and Swain, “Swain added that Clemence is expected to redshirt this coming season even though he’d be eligible to play.
“Clemence initially announced his intention to transfer from Kansas this past spring and committed to UC Santa Barbara, but he did not enroll at UCSB and therefore is not a two-time transfer, so he could have been eligible to play this season,” says Swain. “But the expectation is that he will redshirt at KU next season. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining after the redshirt season.”
Video anywhere?
Louisiana (D1) grad transfer Jordan Brown entered the transfer portal. 6’9”, 19 PF, 9RPG. Sun Belt 1st team. PAC-12 1st team in 20-21. 4th school coming up (Nevada, AZ & Louisiana)
HCBS wa not smiling! SMH…
So 4 walk-in’s and 10 scholarship players (at the moment)! Stay tuned…
Does KU still have Wilhite, McCarthy and Evers? I assume Jankovich graduated.
Bleacher Report indicated the Saints should sign Clark. Seattle and KC rumors too. I don’t see anything about having signed with any team.
Isn’t it likely KU will only play TCU once this year since there are more teams?
No booing. Unless TCU wins….🤣
We all remember HCBS’ face when things aren’t going well. He gets bright red. I’m sure his BP went up too. Careful, Bill!
I’m celebrating McCullars return. It’s way too early to bemoan shooting problems. These guys are working hard on their shooting, I’m sure. There will be positive surprises…
So Udeh took 1 or more freshman level courses that didn’t transfer to Duke. Is that the gist of it?
