A defense with him at the 5, Flory at the 4, White at the 3, Darryn at the 2, and Council at the 1 would be a wet dream for Bill Self

@drgnslayr Of course. For example, DaJuan's zone D against Arkansas was excellent and was a huge reason we came back in that game. He kept cutting off passing lanes, rendering Arkansas' offense very stagnant, not to mention picking off their passes off of bad reads. If you learn to play zone D at that level it is way more effective than just playing the standard zone that all high school basketball players know.
Yeah but after watching the last couple years I think our players could benefit from practicing elementary basketball skills that they should have known from the get-go.

@BShark I like Council as much as or more than Lee but would be happy with either and thrilled if we somehow got both.
Of course his numbers dip a bit in the big 12 but I would still love him to commit. I would envision him and Peterson working together as combo guards.
I am not worried about us recruiting him. We still have many more roster spots that we will fill. We will get a smaller guard, a couple wings, and a couple bigs yet. We just have to be a little patient.

Melvin Council is supposed to be a good defender. The others I don't know enough about to say.
We should just grab Melvin Council, Kyan Evans, Corbin Allen, Brandon Hausen, and a backup big or two. I think we have the money for that.

Who knows. Lots of unknowns about both of them. If Texas Tech gets someone to pair with JT Toppin that could be a great combo. Or Purdue with Braden Smith and Kaufman-Renn is a good one

@bskeet I am sure that Flory's values are not the exact same as mine. I also know that Flory didn't grow up in Lawrence and hasn't been watching KU basketball for as long as he can remember, like I have. So I don't really expect Flory to adopt the same "ride of die with Kansas" attitude during the offseason that I would adopt if I were a collegiate basketball player of his caliber. As long as, while he is here, he gives it his all in games and in practice, that is enough for me. So while I would not have done what Flory did, I don't think he is a bad person for exploring his options and trying to get paid more.

@msanchez It is rigid and predictable when poorly run. When well-run it is difficult to guard (as is the case with many different offenses). Last season it was run poorly. Rylan and AJ had no idea what they were doing, which was a big reason for this.
Why do you think Dawkins is a good fit for Self's system and a good compliment for Darryn?
