@wrwlumpy We win ugly. We conserve energy. We have the number 1 SOS in RPI, so we're always playing tough teams. The games come down to a possession or two unless the opposing coach has a conniption fit, and gets tossed. These are guesses - I have no idea how we have played so badly at times, and are at 10-4. I have no idea why we're being considered a 1 seed by the two most prominent bracket guys in the country. This has to be one of the most oddball teams we've ever had.

IT FINALLY HAPPENED.... HELL FROZE OVER! • Feb 19, 2018 09:01 PM

@mayjay I think he is a sock puppet for another poster on here. A real cancer, he is.

@wissox Their demise this year has contributed to the B10 being pretty weak this year. Of course, Minnysota and NW's collapse hasn't helped matters either.

IT FINALLY HAPPENED.... HELL FROZE OVER! • Feb 19, 2018 08:35 PM

@elpoyo We normally flick you like a booger, yet you still come back. You must be a glutton for punishment.

Keenan Evans is day to day • Feb 19, 2018 08:32 PM

@kjayhawks If it was me, I'd rest him the next two games. But, I'm a KU fan :astonished:

@drgnslayr We want him to shoot it. He is like 37 out his last 38 from the free throw line. I think he's shooting around 20% from the field the last 5 or so games.

Pull quote:

Of course, the national media stirred up because of the free throw discrepancy. Which is interesting, considering few, if any, of those same media members seemed to care when West Virginia beat Kansas while shooting 26 more free throws just two years ago.

Svi and malik • Feb 19, 2018 03:51 PM

Well, at least the cancer false narrative was better than the "Bill didn't answer the FBI question as good as Roy so we have something to worry about" narrative. Newman did leave Svi hanging on a Hi5 right before they did a torso hi5 two minutes later.

Marcus LoVett Leaving St Johns • Feb 19, 2018 03:45 PM

@BShark It's a small world. Especially for those two mighty mites.

Marcus LoVett Leaving St Johns • Feb 19, 2018 03:38 PM

@BShark You're probably right. He oozes trouble. I still would love to have him, though. That guy is so lightening quick, it is astonishing.

Marcus LoVett Leaving St Johns • Feb 19, 2018 03:33 PM

@BShark [

Marcus LoVett Leaving St Johns • Feb 19, 2018 03:25 PM

@BShark [

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I thought Doke had his best game ever. There were several times he was switched off Konate, and he went up, and stole or deflected the entry pass that would've been an easy bucket for the Thugs. He looked so much more agile, and light on his feet, even with playing 31 minutes, which is a lot for him. The free throws were the cherry on top. i so hope we can hang onto him one more year. That lineup next year...if he comes back, will resemble this year's Yankee team with the addition of Stanton. I dare anybody to try to drive it in the paint next year.

Marcus Garrett • Feb 19, 2018 01:28 PM

Garret has quietly been getting better and better on the offensive end. One of his drives to the hoop was brilliant, and he made a nice 3 as well. I see definite progress.

Deuce Young: Slumping or Exposed? • Feb 19, 2018 12:41 AM

@Fightsongwriter I honestly don't see that. I think Trae Young will make many NBA All-Star games.

Deuce Young: Slumping or Exposed? • Feb 19, 2018 12:38 AM

@Fightsongwriter I think the rest of the OU team has quit on Lon. Maybe too much Trae Young hype. Maybe there's some resentment going on. Not sure, but losing 5 in a row can wear any team down mentally

@jayballer73 Tech beat NW by 35. Yes, great comeback yesterday. But Sparty doesn't have the schedule to support a 1 seed. 2 Top 50 RPI victories is less than alot of midmajors that aren't even ranked. Not saying they can't play like a 1 seed, but they will punished for the cupcake schedule.

Palms has moved us up to a #1 after the win over the Hillbillies, and Auburn's loss. We have a very solid base with 11 top 50 Kenpom wins. Only Virginia has as many. Still, it would be a longshot to make a #1 seed, but I think we're a real solid 2 seed.

KU WVU game recap • Feb 18, 2018 04:46 PM

@Fightsongwriter When it begins to click with Garrett all the way, and he starts playing up to his potential, watch out. The guy is going to be great on both sides on the ball.

The Evolution of Doke • Feb 18, 2018 02:55 AM

Winner, winner...chicken dinner....

The Evolution of Doke • Feb 18, 2018 02:52 AM

@approxinfinity Makes me sick to my stomach.

The Evolution of Doke • Feb 18, 2018 02:17 AM

@Gunman He knew exactly what was going on.

The Evolution of Doke • Feb 18, 2018 01:47 AM

He looks so much thinner, and more agile. 7 out of 10 at the line is like winning the lottery for us.

I officially declare ownership over those dreaded Hillbillies, also known as the Mounted Thugs.

@truehawk93 I have Methuselah by a month or two...of course, i remember that commercial..lol.

Like a tent in a tornado, WVU folded faster than a chinese laundry.

Games today • Feb 17, 2018 10:57 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 And Texas Tech beat Northwestern by 35. Sorry, not hopping on the Rape U hype train.

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 17, 2018 10:53 PM

@mayjay What he said.

@BeddieKU23 We've got a one man wrecking crew for the break : Mr. Newman. He is the one guy that is very good taking the ball to the hole. The problem is we don't space our players right, and we aren't very good at advancing the ball through passing, so I'm not sure we can get him the ball in the right spots.

@BeddieKU23 My personal opinion is we have always done a poor job attacking pressure, no matter who we have on the floor. 2008 came closest to being a decent fast break team. It was quite a culture shock for those who loved Roy's fast break offense when Bill took over.

2019 Recruiting • Feb 16, 2018 03:14 PM

@dylans Thank you.

#14 is still within reach • Feb 15, 2018 04:55 PM

@JayHawkFanToo OSU was favored in that game by 4, and Silo squashed them.

#14 is still within reach • Feb 15, 2018 04:18 PM

@BShark It looks like 'Tucky is headed into a buzzsaw with their remaining schedule. 4 out of 5 of their remaining games are against probable tourney teams.

THE SKY WASN'T FALLING • Feb 14, 2018 06:56 PM

@JayHawkFanToo It's always hard to logically respond to a knee -jerk emotional thought. I thought you did an excellent job trying to apply simple logic.

THE SKY WASN'T FALLING • Feb 14, 2018 06:47 PM

@RockkChalkk I don't ever remember DG ever finishing at the rim before this year. He used to do that little pullup before he would get to the glass.

@Blown I think he didn't answer because he wasn't going to throw his seniors under the bus. I think Vick, and Newman were both being the "good teammates", and deferring to Svi and DG, and it was affecting the whole team. Now, this is wild speculation on my part, but it could explain why Newman ignored Svi's hi 5 that traumatized a few skyfallers on here. Have you ever noticed that our juniors always have lower numbers at KU? I think the players have an informal entitlement pecking order system going on where the underclassmen defer on the court to the seniors.

@Blown It tells you he is shy to the point of crippling social anxiety. He's not weird - he is afraid of the spotlight.

@Crimsonorblue22 I had a female client at work named Mrs. Nipple. Awkward...

THE SKY WASN'T FALLING • Feb 14, 2018 03:17 AM

@BShark On the road. In a place we've lost way too times. We weren't playing for the national championship, but if we had lost tonight ...well, maybe the sky would've fallen.

@BShark I know it's a longshot, but I'm thinking Embiid, Frank and JJ were granted a special waiver to come back and help us win number 14.

THE SKY WASN'T FALLING • Feb 14, 2018 02:11 AM

@BShark Johnny on the spot, I am.

THE SKY WASN'T FALLING • Feb 14, 2018 02:07 AM

1- The cancer turned out to be benign.

2- Carlton took his bong with him when he left.

3- Waldo found LeGerald Vick, and it really paid off.

4- Newman sent Svi some flowers for Valentines day. Hopefully, they didn't kiss when they made up.

5-The only "magic" at Hilton was the Vick resurrection.

6- Our Hall Of Fame Coach came to his senses and started Vick and Newman.

@BeddieKU23 He's called out Frank before. Devonte, too. He called out Tyshawn practically every game for 2 years. He said the team couldn't beat the Topeka YMCA a few years back. Newman may very well be a scourge to all mankind as we know it, or he might've missed some defensive assignments, and his coach sent a message.He had 5 assists the 2nd half, so maybe the benching helped.

@Buster-1926 Did Doke tell you he didn't want to be here? Are you the proverbial mouse in the pocket?

@dylans I had a whole bunch of friends that got stoned with 3 or 4 players many times at Jayhawk Towers back in the day. I find it hilarious that we have a really bad game on the road, and all of a sudden, we randomly call out a player as a 'cancer" because he didn't properly greet another player's gesture ( although they did bump torsos two minutes later), and now we're openly wondering if the whole team is on drugs. Friends like us- who needs enemies?

@RockkChalkk They said they were looking for 3 to 4 guards for next year before the season started. Nothing has changed.

@mayjay You must be the KU version of "Mythbusters". You just blew up a narrative. Boom!

Who's playing like a Big XII champ now? • Feb 11, 2018 04:01 PM

@drgnslayr Quack, quack.

Who's playing like a Big XII champ now? • Feb 11, 2018 02:10 PM

The ugly duckling turns into a beautiful goose. We are geese, not ducks. Geese can shoot 3 pointers as good as anyone - ducks play power basketball. Throw it into Duck..err Doke didn't work. Starting Lightquack hasn't worked. All we did was get both of our playable ducks in foul trouble, and mess with the psyche of our geese.

KU has some fixable problems • Feb 11, 2018 01:57 AM

I'm reduced to rooting for Silo Tech.
