@BeddieKU23 probably going to be day to day with a bone bruise after this

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:44 AM

@BeddieKU23 Seth especially. But he couldn’t really coach either so job security for being a fraud on TV is better than one coaching

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:38 AM

I thought we were better without Dave this matchup so far. He’s getting pulled out further with Groves and just getting in the way in the lane. And he’s not really able to beat Groves on offense.

So just play Mitch and drive the lane with 4 guards

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:30 AM

Remy has looked rusty af. We’ve turned it over a ton. Bad luck with tipped balls. Dave played meh. Och was hurt. And we are still up at half on the road.

We good.

Awful

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:27 AM

Did he just say someone was as fast as Dot?

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:25 AM

I’m just very unimpressed by the OU talent… I think we run away in the 2nd half. Feels like a double digit win

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:16 AM

@FarmerJayhawk they’re using Dave as a screen lol

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:15 AM

Piss Poor energy today

BOOMER Game Thread • Jan 19, 2022 12:09 AM

Jalen needs to cut to the basket there instead of hanging out at the 3

Post WV game thoughts • Jan 18, 2022 08:02 PM

I'm looking for news on Remy today but not seeing anything on twitter. I'm guessing he shot around with the team, but couldn't tell in the pics.

@BShark stadium reno News and a bowl appearance and KU Football might be ā€œcoolā€ again…

WVU Game Thread • Jan 16, 2022 12:05 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I hate that website. Functionality just sucks on it.

2022 Crootin • Jan 15, 2022 11:35 PM

Would like to see them add another OL, but pretty thrilled with the development of the OL throughout the season. Noticeable difference from game 1 vs end of the season

2022 Crootin • Jan 15, 2022 11:35 PM

Ky and Phelps are big wins. Pass rush was weak and you can’t have enough playmakers.

Non-KU Games • Jan 15, 2022 11:32 PM

Bryce Thompson feeling it. Been the answer for Baylor runs

2022 Crootin • Jan 15, 2022 11:31 PM

@BShark ky?

Bill DROPS The F BOMB • Jan 15, 2022 11:16 PM

I would very much like a motivated and healthy Remy back. Hope it happens

Non-KU Games • Jan 15, 2022 10:38 PM

Baylor held to 22 points without an 0-20 stretch to close their half… OSU is scrappy

Non-KU Games • Jan 15, 2022 10:23 PM

OSU has Baylor on the ropes early. This makes the performance in Stillwater so much easier to swallow.

OSU just makes games as ugly as possible

Non-KU Games • Jan 15, 2022 10:03 PM

OSU out to a hot start vs Baylor.

Non-KU Games • Jan 15, 2022 09:58 PM

UT has a lot of the same issues as KU but like they don’t have an Ochai.

Poor interior D. An offense that can go cold at any point. Not everyone playing well at the same time.

Non-KU Games • Jan 15, 2022 09:55 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 I expected a lot more from that UT team.

But tough to win games on the road

Literally all depends on Dave playing like he did today though.

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 09:46 PM

@mayjay I use bleacher report for live +- stats.

Would trust sports reference more accurate ones after games though

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 08:47 PM

Held WVU to 27% shooting as well. Just finally showed how well they can play. First game it felt like that since MSU

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 08:46 PM

23 assists

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 08:36 PM

We are +32 with Dave on the court today 😳

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 08:23 PM

I’ve watched Joe dunk on a 6’10 guy. He needs to get a little more confident going up for just a regular layup

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:38 PM

Lmao how was this dude only getting 3 mpg…

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:35 PM

Ochai putting the team on his back

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:02 PM

Or 1 I suppose

WVU Game Thread • Jan 15, 2022 07:02 PM

4 PGs on the roster but feels like none

@Kcmatt7 white, grimes, Tristan and biggest one Gethro.

Gethro with Drew would thrive he’d be given opportunity, miss defensive assignments but learn and do that early in the year in games we win either way. Game experience is the best Self can’t wrap his brain around this.

Gethro is 6’10 230 and long and athletic. Rim run, set screens, dunks, dump offs and put backs. You want to get to the league well this is what you do here.....look at Thamba at Baylor identical.

Gethro at UNM averaged 9.8 ppg and 5.1 boards on 19.8 mpg.

I get we say ā€œhe couldn’t get minutes hereā€ and yet look what we are running out there.

Here’s the reality. Self plays favorites based on who he trusts. How he comes to the trust conclusions no one but self knows. Practice, summer league whatever it is....it isn’t games for this trust.

Quick leash for those he doesn’t and stunted growth.
Long leash for those he trusts and can do no wrong even if turnovers or bad shots are taken.

Apply it to remy, grimes, gethro whoever.

He didn’t make Grimes better....Sampson did that.

I can add Cheick too. He couldn’t ā€œgraspā€ bills system or whatever your insiders claim close to the program. He’s in the wrong spot whatever yet he isn’t played through it against cream puffs he’s relegated to the bench.

Everyone who’s followed KU knows Self prioritizes system over better athletes and potential so that entails the system is literally stopping better players with higher ceilings to improve and REACH that ceiling in season.

If these are your ideas of guys who left and thrived we are living in two different realities.

Grimes first year at Houston was wildly inefficient. Basically his results here, just with more volume.

White got beat out by BG. We all watched it. If BG wasn’t a 50% ringer from deep White would have played here.

Enaruna is getting 17 mpg and scoring 6 a night for ISU.

Gethro put up those numbers while shooting under 50% from the field, and before his accident had just left that program too. Against the only P5 team they faced, he put up a 1/4 shooting night with 5 points and 5 boards. Quite the smoking gun you have there that Bill Self can’t develop players.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 11:29 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 it pains me, but personally I think we need him. So tend to agree with you.

The reason he's still messing with the lineup is due to all the injuries and failures of the upperclass men. Wilson should be better, even if he can't shoot he should be able to help out in the other phases. I watched the isu/tt game, it was as ugly as ours.

Dave should be better too. I'm sure Bill would love to be playing him more if he could.

Getting to a point you need to just give Dave a ton of minutes again and say "we need you" or to sit his ass on the bench for good and let KJ, Mitch and Jalen man the 5.

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 02:08 PM

@kuballin10 who specifically is leaving and thriving?

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 12, 2022 04:20 AM

@kuballin10 you’re acting like Remy is playing 5 mpg.

He’s getting 25 minutes and will get 30 mpg + once he’s back healthy

ISU Game Thread • Jan 12, 2022 04:18 AM

Idk what is to be upset with as far as recent performance.

4 years ago we made a FF. 3 years ago Doke got hurt which sucked. 2 years ago we were the favorites to win it all. Last year we sucked (nobody is winning with that group). This year Bill is pulling strings and working this team.

Dave only played 10 minutes tonight. KJ started. And JCL probably plays 20 minutes if he doesn’t catch an elbow. He played Bobby even though he’s practiced almost none.

The best part about this season so far is that it doesn’t feel like we’ve hit our stride. Seems clear to me this team has another gear they just haven’t hit yet. But it isn’t from Bill not trying

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 11, 2022 08:00 PM

I think CB and Remy have both been a bit unselfish. But better than being a ball stop.

Remy has quite honestly banged up for most of the season. Been nursing both a back and knee injury for like 8 of the 14 games I think. I'd like to revisit this in 2-3 weeks once Remy's knee starts feeling better.

IARP - KU seeks alternative resolution • Jan 11, 2022 06:00 PM

@drgnslayr I almost posted this same exact analogy.

But it is more like being one of 10 people who were arrested for pot at a sold out Willie Nelson concert.... and then pot becomes legal before we ever go to trial.

@rockchalkjayhawk

With NIL here these cases just feel so behind the times.

That's where you just have to shake your head. I would argue we basically have already taken punishment from this whole thing. Clearly on the recruiting trail we have...

IARP - KU seeks alternative resolution • Jan 11, 2022 01:26 AM

Just get it over with. Would be very happy to see this end finally

Bill Self "growth stunter" • Jan 10, 2022 08:28 PM

I think they need Bobby back in a bad way because Self trusts Bobby. And that gives them the depth to press more and shorten the shot clock. Which is desperately needed with our poor interior defense.

Chiefs • Jan 10, 2022 01:55 PM

@AsadZ 2nd half they were, yes.

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:54 PM

@bskeet we shot efficiently enough tbh. We just let tech shoot 52% and take more shots

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:51 PM

Dave was -12 on the floor in 14 minutes

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:50 PM

@approxinfinity or some 5 guard press Virginia style.

Or like anything that doesn’t involve Dave

Red Raiders • Jan 08, 2022 10:44 PM

We’ll get them back in Lawrence. Sometimes good to see Bill get outcoached. Make him look for answers and counter punches
