@SlickRockJayhawk agree I'm less optimistic than most about Jalen. His shot goes in but is a little funky too
I see him only in spot minutes this year 5-10. Unless he's athletically capable of much more than he has shown.

Meh, we take whatever is coming to us. It's our own fault for switching to Adidas 15 years ago. Sure, the off-brand makes sense financially. But don't tell me Oreos taste the same as Twist & Shouts.
Do Oreos taste better than Hydrox?
Welcome to KU Jalen! You made a good choice. Looking forward to seeing what you and Hudy can do! Let's puke into a strategically placed bucket and get started!

@approxinfinity Not able to watch this week as we're out west, which isn't a bad problem to have. The homer Eloy Jimenez landed in a place I've never seen a homer land before at Sox park. That was amazing!
Nice! Enjoy your trip man.
EDIT: whoops! Got mixed up there. Yeah that Jimenez homer was massive! Just watched the replay.
- Silvio can dribble well in transition. Even in high school vids. Feeling good about my 10.5 ppg estimate. Only reason he wouldn't score 10.5 if he's not asked to and he defers.
- Love Mcbrides form. Pure. I think he'll see meaningful minutes alongside DD.
- Really enjoyed the energy. Felt like a team having fun together. Dave was cracking up after Mitch's blown monster dunk. DDot was hugging / obstructing Garrett.
- Good to see EJ and TRel running with the kids.
@wissox ooooh big at bat here. Let's go Trea!
@wissox Nice! I've always felt working fast is advantage pitcher. Don't let the batters settle in.
Well I'm glad he's doing it for the White Sox, and not some team I despise. And yeah, we've worked you guys over pretty good, but you guys aren't there yet. Having a scoreless (and hitless even?) 7th/8th/9th from Rainey/Sipp/Rosenthal was a ne'er before seen rare treat. Need to see it again to believe it.
Mitch develops a 40% Trey gun and he and Enanura are the 4s in our 4-1. Big Dave redshirts and goes into super secret hudy trey gun big man remodeling school.
@jayballer73 we still have 2schollies open and only Jalen on radar to commit tomorrow right?
@BShark Absolutely. Someone referred to the class balance that we now have. That is so vital to sustained success and playing team oriented, tough defensive basketball. Having guys that age up year over year makes it a lot easier to fill in holes to maintain the class balance. I couldn't be more pleased with the last 2 classes after Transfer U experiment disaster year.
@BShark These young guys are so money in the head.
@Crimsonorblue22 oh man. Its a torn Achilles. Sucks.

Toronto pissed this one away. Alright. Still unwatchable.
Ayesha Curry was right. The NBA is rigged.
This is stupid. Show the above the rim angle, it's the only one that matters.
Wow.
... and some great things.
Leonard has made some bad plays this last quarter . How was that not a travel?
Anyone watching this? Good game.
It's pretty enjoyable watching Jordan Bell get abused by the Raptors.
Ochai is a much more athletic player than Jalen with +1 year of experience. The only way Jalen starts is if he shoots the lights out and Ochai can't hit his shot. It's possible, but i don't think we will see it.
@BShark here's what I think breaking down Silvio's scoring.
He will get 2 buckets on offensive rebounds. One on a set play. Then at least a bucket on entrypass. And the kid is our 75% ft shooting big . 8 is a floor. I will go 10.5
@BShark i'm taking the over on Silvio's 8!
Welcome to KU Isaiah! We've been expecting you.
That article also talks about Grimes possibly transfering to Texas A&M or Houston.
You guys already metioned that the time and date is set for Wilson's announcement right? https://247sports.com/college/kansas/Article/Recruiting-Decision-date-time-info-for-KU-basketball-target-Jalen-Wilson-132706231/ β
I love this gif someone posted on Moss's twitter... AFH beckons, Isaiah...
@dylans lol. Well done.
@Texas-Hawk-10 this is true. But those are the dice you roll when you pay big money to your top guys and your bench is weak. Iguodala has been injury prone for a long time. Cousins is a big man coming off an achilles injury. High risk. In terms of those two guys I would say Golden State would be lucky if they are healthy and injured is what you would expect. Nobody is going to be shocked if Doke goes down this year. I'd feel lucky if he stays healthy.
So really Golden State has bet almost everything on 3 stars staying healthy. It's a calculated risk. At what point do you stop calling it bad luck and call it a gamble that backfired?
It's one strategy vs another. You have a Toronto team that's deep and well constructed vs a top heavy team of aging stars. In this case, the first strategy is winning (so far).
@KirkIsMyHinrich 1000% agree. We've heard excuses about who wins more than half the time in the NBA for as long as I can remember. Life happens.

Kerry Blackshear and Arkansas rumors heating up... per Slater
Why?
I don't get it. Why the heck would he go to Arkansas?
So.... I get that basketball has a long tradition of rule bending. Dunking, palming the ball, running people over (Shaq)...
One man's cheating is another man's improvisation.
I guess the constant taking 2 steps without dribbling has finally broken me. There. I'm old now. Thanks, NBA.
Your numbers confirm my suspicion that the human race and I are on different roads... :)
@Bosthawk it really is awful television. It's bad when I'm interested in the outcome of the game and repeatedly try to watch the game, but just can't stomach it. I felt like I was forcing myself to flip back to the Warriors - Raptors even though it was literally painful. Amazing how bad a product they've made considering how good a game it is and how much talent the players have.
"I just knew, that I could get really good here. Probably to the best of my abilities" LOVE IT

Funny thing is no one wants to watch without LeBron. The ratings are horrid.
That's in my mind a failure of the media. They have no imagination and have spent zero effort nationally marketing anyone out of the East other than LeBron.
Similarly, maybe LeBron wouldn't have gotten smoked if he and his bosses hadn't assembled inflexible teams around him that were long in the tooth and short on talent with yes men coaches. Good enough to get to the Finals but not to win them?
Curry did about as well as LeBron in those losing efforts right? Kawhi looks like he has picked up where he left off as Finals MVP in 2014. Siakam, Van Fleet and co show you what a team with balance and upside can do with an opportunity against a former MVP + scrubs.
The tables have turned.
Here's a blast from the past box score. Game 5 2014 where San Antonio clinches with a balanced effort against Miami with LeBron, Wade, Bosh, and co. Spoelstra changing the starting lineup for game 4 and game 5. Good thing Mario was demoted so Allen could start and shoot 1 for 8 from the field.

Last night's box score:
Remember when people thought the East was going to get smoked in the NBA Finals without LeBron? lol

@Texas-Hawk-10 there's a KU sports article about they are really working on the 3!π€

From July 2018...
βI actually changed how I shoot the ball,β said Garrett, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound graduate of Dallas Skyline High.
He reworked his shot at the conclusion of the 2017-18 season and continued tinkering with it through the Jayhawks' first session of summer school (June 5-25).
βIβve worked on getting the right spin on the ball. I used to have top-spin; now I have front-spin. It feels better when I shoot it,β Garrett said during a recent interview at Brett Ballardβs Washburn University hoops camp at Lee Arena in Topeka.
From July 2019....
"It turns out front spin was wrong, and now I've reworked my shot again to have backspin instead of front spin"
Ok, I made that last quote up :) He did say that he put front spin on the ball last Summer though.
@KUSTEVE claims to have watched sports for over 90 years. He is an excellent typist for a canine.
Washburn, Emporia State, Wofford? He should transfer to another team in our pre-conference conference...
@KUSTEVE looks like it (just looking at boxscore). Its crazy to think that if he had hit 4 of 8 instead of 2 of 8 from 3, something he did in the last 3 games against the Bucks, they probably win. Dude's percentages have been outstanding.
@drgnslayr Did you see Van Fleet's stats against Milwaukee? Incredible production when called on by a 6'0 bench player. I wish Frank could be given a similar opportunity.!0_1559523927255_vanfleet.png β

@kjayhawks maybe, but Perry was a way more decorated High School player and valedictorian. It remains to be seen if he has Perry's smarts and work ethic.
