Bob Davis passed away. Wish he had a better seasons end for a send off.
I’d like to see Izzo beat Duke in the championship game so we can all wonder what could have been had the team only jelled.
@bskeet That soulless AI created Coke commercial… shudder. It’s like auto tune. Makes me appreciate real artists all the more.
@rockchalkjayhawk I feel like I won by not filling one out for the first time since 1998. On to other pursuits as this form of entertainment didn’t work out this year. I am personally enjoying the NFL offseason. Lots of bs storylines that will dissolve once the pads are on. What will my favorite team do with their 15mil in cap space? Ooh I’m on pins and needles. lol it’s not the tournament with KU in it, but I’m having fun distracting myself from things that matter (real life____fill in your own stuff I’m sure it’s worse than a losing a game, if not count yourself blessed ) sports are fun! …less so when you lose, but sure beats the hell out of everything else that’s going on. So I’m looking forward to KU’s offseason and the speculation of how the season will turn out. I hope it’s not an other preseason #1 ranking, but rather something more reasonable with room to grow.
@approxinfinity Is it better to be a star for St John’s or KU? Asking for a friend.

@wissox Zuby and Udeh left because they were recruited over with more money thrown at Dickinson. That is related to coaches not assessing appropriately the ceiling that the players have and going after fool’s gold (Dickinson) when you had 2 bigs that would most likely be playing for KU if not for the portal and NIL. The only question is whether Zuby would develop into the player he currently is if he stayed at KU.
That’s a sign of the time. Before a starter would not have just tucked his tail between his legs and run off because a new player came in. That happened every offseason in college and the pros. Grow up or slink away into the void.
Zuby would have played for KU, he was a starter! He chose a path that would challenge him less. Maybe he’s overcome his pussifiacion, but I bet when push comes to shove he buckles on the court and in real life. Character matters.

I'll list the obviously desperate acts Bill Self miraculously resorted to tonight (finally -- and they worked):
-- Zone defense. Stupid effer could have done this much earlier in the season to help us out a bit???
Smart to no give the opponents tape. Bill breaks out the zone most years in the tournament only. It messes up the other team bad - look how poorly prepared Cal was for it even though Bill has done it to him in the tournament before!
AI is dumb. Woo hoo! Long live humanity

Zone that they never play or have length to rebound out of like Baylor. Give and get
Rylan’s instincts suck.
@drgnslayr or whatever brings him out of his shell. That used to work. Now my young help quits if you don’t use the proper motivational techniques and sometimes even if you do!

Dang it Hunter. The backend d was good.
Why no free throws? Edit - not in bonus, 6 fouls.
Dang it Hunter. The backend d was good.

@kjayhawks dude i never said juan wasnt playing like ass. I just dont think its fair to mock him for being godlike when it seems like his confidence might be his biggest problem.
Dejuan seems very introverted in person. I’m sure he’s out of his comfort zone most of the time for KU.
@Kcmatt7 said in Lets Dance - Arkansas vs KU:
I can’t wait for Juan to be gone.
I hope it lasts as long as possible. Maybe 6 more games including this one? But a change next season will be nice.
13 and 3 out of the 4 spot. Hmm stats like KJ. Can he defend like him too? I’d like to see better rebounding. T-Rex arms on both of them?
@approxinfinity KU fans thought very little of WSU basketball - about like emporia st or hays for that matter, just another instate charity case game. Then the a-hole with the drunkard wife took over and they got good; beat KU a couple times. And that was that. Back to a nothing burger.
@nuleafjhawk matchups are important. Points to further corruption! 😂
Lost too many people already this year. Take care of yourself!

@stoptheflop You're forgetting the two former Kentucky coaches matchup that could happen with Cal and Pitino.
Cal trivia
Calipari is from Moon Township near Pittsburgh. My dad got stationed there after Korea as an Army draftee. He met my mom at a church there. She was from Mars, PA. So a Mars woman married a Moon man. (true story)Calipari's daughter attended the segregation academy called Briarcrest 'christian' School in Memphis. This school was made famous by Michael Oher in the Blind Side.
Calipari of course was a part of the dynasty of coaches at KU in the mid 80's. College/NBA hall of famer Larry Brown had Cal as an assistant. Bill Self came along for 1 year with Brown, and Gregg Popovich then came in as a grad assistant. In this little activity I just learned Popovich is from East Chicago, IN, a town so close to home that I sometimes go on runs from my house into East Chicago. Never knew that part of this whole thing!
Maybe Larry Brown should have a hand in picking KU’s next round of assistants! Wow
@nuleafjhawk Dude why set yourself up for that level of disappointment? How about KU football finishes above .500 and gets a toilet bowl invite?!?
@BeddieKU23 I personally do not care about numbers or short term wins. There could be enough HS recruited players on the roster to field a team of that was the goal. It clearly isn’t. Lateral level transfers suck. I’m fine with guys like Zeke that wanted KU initially and had to earn it, but the free agent hires suck. No heart and still limited or they’d be in the NBA.
I know this is not how it works.
Ugg I could not finish a bracket; just can’t convince myself that KU will win more than 2 games tops. (And I’m a major homer, I know!) I never watch once KU is done. So the bracket remains 1/8 filled out.
I’d be fine with very few transfers and gutting it out for a bit forming a team that is cohesive and grows together. But that’s not going to happen - no instant gratification.
I can’t recall a KU team going 7-8 down the stretch before. My confidence is at an all time low for the tournament. Usually when KU doesn’t have a good team they hustle and give it their all. This squad has never come together and the effort is uneven. Last chance to figure it out. LFG
Here’s what ESPN says about KU
Elsewhere in the bracket, St. John's coach Rick Pitino leads his unprecedented sixth program into the tournament, and what a road he would have to take to get to the Final Four.
First, he will travel to Providence, the same building where the coach led the Friars to a surprise Final Four trip back in 1987, to lead St. John's in a first-round game against Omaha. Pitino's second game could come against Arkansas and John Calipari in what would be a titanic matchup between two of the game's biggest coaching names.
-nothing.
@wissox If it’s on high shot volume - pass. Hard pass. Do not pass go, go straight to jail.
@approxinfinity it will be a challenge for sure. Usually it’s easy to pencil in KU to win it all…
@approxinfinity That’s much shorter than the list of players I didn’t like! Tripper Allen, everyone hates laetner, Carlos boozer, Jay Williams…the list goes on and on. 😂
@drgnslayr You had me until the last sentence. Once a dukey always a douchey.
@nuleafjhawk The rebounding kills me. They would’ve won several more games just by rebounding better. I don’t think KJ sees the angles. Hunter is just slow.
@approxinfinity I think they (ucf players) take on the character of their coach.
@webjay The same team KU just beat 2 games ago? Maybe, but I have a little faith that KU will show up and win.
I have much more faith in KU basketball even in this terrible down year to win a game of significance than the football team will ever win an important game. In this terrible no good basketball season KU has still managed to beat the #1 team in the nation. That would never happen for the football team. So there is hope. Likely false hope, but it’s more than I’ve ever held for the football team.
The bball team is not up to the standard this year. Goes to show how spoiled we are in basketball and how crappy the football program has been for nearly a century (in both sports) for expectations to be what they are. Hopefully the football team will continue gaining momentum - not likely a long term deal given history so better enjoy it now while there is still hope. And hopefully the basketball team will get back to earning 1 seeds and disappointing in the tournament due to it’s unpredictable nature.
@webjay 3.5pt favorite at Allen and 1pt dog on neutral court. Interesting
@BShark will be glad when the Storr experience is over
The big 12 court stops making sense in my brain at some point and turns into a morphing box / diamond plate looking brain drain.
@nuleafjhawk I went to one game this year. It would pay for all the streaming services for a few years for each ticket. And they weren’t court side seats either! It’s a bargain if you want to see KU ball. If not it’s a rip off. To each their own. I used to be content reading the newspaper to find out about the Jayhawks too.
That’s part of the reason why I don’t have cable 🤷♂️
Wharton got paid!!! 3/54. 🤩 Too bad he’s gone, but I’m glad he got a bag!
@BShark Could still be Orlando Brown Jr. if he hadn’t messed around and found out. I’m ok with competent tackle play, it’s been awhile. I think Moore brings it. Glad it’s not Dan Moore and his 12 sacks allowed last year at 21 mil. Yikes.
@rockchalkjayhawk Fair enough. 10 pressures and 1 sack in 4 games is about what Patrick faced per game on the left side last year though. I’d be happy with league average.
Jaylon Moore is the LT for the next couple years. I like this pickup. He played very well spelling a hurt Trent Williams. 27 years old and healthy. I’m glad the Ravens sewed up Stanley early!
15 minutes until the legal tampering period. Should get interesting for lots of teams. I do not expect the Chiefs to be big spenders after wrapping up so many cap $$$ in Bolton and Trey Smith - hopefully a long term deal can be done to lessen the cap hit.
@SlimShaddy54 Self said he almost could not play Dejuan because he was crying too hard.
He cares more about KU than the other players combined - my take. And yet some in the fanbase think they care more. They certainly ugly cry (loudly in public) more.
@rockchalkjayhawk Looks like Worthy and Carlton Bragg date from the same pool. 🤪 crazy gals is as nice as I can put it.
Bolton is ok. Good run stopper like @kjayhawks says. Would rather have used than money elsewhere though. Tranquil could hold down the mlb spot if needed with Chenel becoming a starter. Was expecting Bolton to sign a deal with the Cowboys and the Chiefs spend some money on LT! More moves to come I hope.
@rockchalkjayhawk Not sure how to feel about that one. Dodged a major injury risk, but he’s good when healthy.

@kjayhawks Amen! https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/44073554/kansas-mayo-shares-racist-threatening-posts-made-social ↗ - I hope police is doing something about it. And let's hope Zeke will play freely as his own self, just like Zeke we know. He seems a mellow dude, but a deadly silent assassin on the court! Let's roll, Zeke!!!!
Doesn’t legalized gambling bring out the best in people?!?
