@approxinfinity Since Shaq, not Shaqās equal though. I mean physically imposing like Shaq. No one can body him up. Heās not nearly as skilled as Shaq. Heās not a game changer like AD. Heās not fundamentally sound like Kaminski. Heās just freakin huge and you canāt do a damn thing about it other than foul him.
Ok, we can agree on that. He's huge and can dunk with the authority of Shaq. His FG% is amazing.
All I was really getting at. You donāt get a Sr that isnāt flawed.
More importantly is how bad KU sucked hind tit without him last year. Itās like watching a team without LeBron or Aaron Rodgers. Thatās when you see how good they are.
That part I disagree with. The team was flawed. He was absolutely critical to the team. But the team was Swiss cheese. It's not like we were blowing people out at the beginning of the season. They were all very close games. Like LeBron or Rodgers, the team was constructed with a healthy Doke in mind. You can't tell me that the Cavs or the Packers wouldn't win games without LeBron or Rodgers if they were never on the team in the first place.
Iād re-think that hill - The Cavs have been horrid for decades. McCarthy and the GM are responsible for the best QB in football only getting one championship in his career. They are both terrible teams without the best player in their respective sport. (The Packers were just bad in the McCarthy era) Iām recalling the Cavs having 3 #1 picks in a row -Kyrie, Bennett, Wiggins and they wouldāve had more before that, but they selected LeBron #1.
Add Dok in place of Landen Lucas and KU cuts down the nets in March on a couple of those teams. Heād have been a real nice compliment to Perry. Or on the 4 out crew.
Dok is amazing I hope we all get to see 40 games of him next year to let it soak in.
I do think Doke is unique, enjoyable to watch, a dedicated Jayhawk, and easy to root for. But I don't want the team constructed around him. He'll go down and it will be curtains.
If itās constructed around him itās due to recruiting missed and the season was/is doomed from the start. He has to be the focal point on the block and he must get his touches. Theyāre worth 1.6pts per shot. But Dotson or Grimes or RJ or Ochai needs to open things up from the perimeter. You canāt win it all being one dimensional.
