You need both to win. A team of Lightfoots (Lightfeet?)doesn’t win anything. It would be fun/painful to watch. The trick is getting the highly skilled freak athletes to buy in. It’s hard with so many guys having one foot out the door.

Once the NBAs OAD rule is gone I hope that the NCAA requires “student” athletes to stay in school 2 years. But I’d like to see the scholarships guaranteed for 4 years (barring something egregious ie prison). I know you really can’t make this happen, but maybe have the kid sign a contract with the U that has a buyout of whatever a year of that scholarship and housing is really worth. I’d like them to think about it at least. I’m looking at you Grimes...$40k isn’t anything to sneeze at in the G-league.
I don't understand why people keep saying the OAD is going to go away. Players are still going to only go to college for one year and enter the draft. ( Not trying to call you out @dylans ) I just keep hearing people say this it isn't true. I understand that the "elite" players will soon ( hopefully) have the option to go straight to the NBA however, when that rule is put in place there are still going to be OAD players.
I didn’t mean to imply OADs are going away just the silly NBA OAD rule. And I proposed a simple deterrent from unqualified kids bailing. I was hoping someone would offer a better solution.
Ideas on how to deter bad decisions by unqualified athletes trying to go pro?

Commit already so we can get you some more help!
@approxinfinity small company -I hire my help so it’s no good if I can’t remember their names lol.
Lol at the Knicks and Lakers. What you going to trade to the pelicans now for Davis?
I was glad he left before he did anything else stupid while in Larryville.
@drgnslayr I’ve been to a few nba games; not my favorite. I have no horse in the race, so it’s boring. I tried rooting for Arthur or Morris, but that wasn’t working either.
Denver/the Pepsi Center sucks. (Nice building - no soul) IF the Knicks were good NY would be fun. Same could be said for LA.
When I realized how big and fast pro players are was during the “Barn Storming tour” that KU Seniors used to do. Sasha Kauhn was faster than the local all star guards...and he looked slower than molasses on tv.
But I’m just a KU fan. What do I know?

What’s Duke got to do with this? nm it’s purple.

Sounds like Ochai's shins played into his downward spiral.
God I hope so! He was horrid late after being so good early.
@Kcmatt7 Put Kawhi in Philly and the Warriors have a legit challenger.
Watch the kid in second place at the start. Wow!
Can he catch the pigskin? @lesmiles (cause you know he monitors the buckets)

Who? The physics rehab assignment? That’s a 50/50 deal. Beard will get the most out of him though.
Helped Duke...

Did not end up working out for the Hawks.
Just so you know I was crestfallen until I read the article. Good news, not the Jayhawks, the Atlanta Hawks!

-Warning drops the f bomb. -
KU needs to learn this. Cops, NCAA same difference here. Silvio would be eligible.
+40 last game for Embiid. 😮
Mitchell is ok, but dang why’d they make it so lopsided? Maybe against old broke down Wade and Anthony, but even over the hill LeBron is still waaay better than those guys.
Make it interesting - Kawhi, Durant, Curry vs prime LeBron, Wade, & Anthony. That I would watch.
Buy a couple lots away from the lake and bring on the coastal erosion!!! You’ll have inexpensive lakefront property in no time. 😝
@FarmerJayhawk Waaaaat?
@nuleafjhawk I’m just as excited about the new defense. That old one needed a major overhaul and boy did it get one!
@BShark west of dodge city 50 miles. Only 3” here. 25 miles east over 12” one night. There was a cement truck mixer full of set up concrete in the draw. It got washed out of the 15 ft hole it was in and over the highway and was deposited 100 yards into the neighboring field. Water is a very powerful force. Most destructive on earth.
@Woodrow Wellington.
I’d like to go for the pro KU RJ/Rayjon one, but really killing Duke and it’s recruiting would be the most beneficial.
Bill had three 5 ⭐️ point guards on his championship team. There’s plenty of room for Tucker and Hampton and Dotson. Bring it!!!

Stay safe out there! Here’s hoping everyone has dry feet tonight (and basements @Crimsonorblue22) flooding is no fun.
@nuleafjhawk I with you I that! I’ve been working outdoors during all the daytime rain the last few days. 30+ miles of tromping thru mud on a surgically repaired knee - all is well. 400+ miles of mud under the tires too and I’ve only visited a couple bar ditches temporarily. Lol. Still way better than working outdoors in the snow.
I’m willing to bet most of the people complaining about the rain (not necessarily here, just as a whole) are indoors right now! It’s like a radio show complaining about the heat they only see from the car to the office door. 😂
Australia is awesome. No politically correct bs over there. If you’re fat they’ll call you a whale and if you start to cry they’ll ask if the tears taste like gravy. Their PM doesn’t take any crap either. It’s kinda like the US in the 80s when things were awesome.
2” of rain here was a nice start. The 12” they got 30 miles down the road a couple nights ago is a bit much. The county had to break out snow plows to move hail stone off the road. -pretty gnarly to see hail drifts.
@Kcmatt7 I’d sure like to see another shooter! I’m afraid Dotson ( 🤞 he’s back) shouldn’t shoot more; his 3pt % is good, because he’s selective. A shooter that can handle the ball. Tucker? Is a pure spot up shooter available?
Hehe. I got my youngest boy (3) a bunch of 80s ninja turtle toys. Fun for me to see him playing with stuff I remembered from my younger siblings.
Remember you’re the one picking it up. Lol.
If it’s a gift may I suggest jumping jacks and a kazoo or perhaps a percussion instrument? 😂
@Kcmatt7 If KU rebounded well I wouldn’t mind Garrett shooting so much, but as it is a three ball from him is a turnover nearly 3/4 of the time
Edit ...on second though how could you rebound a Garrett miss with everyone packing the lane?

Room for both the way I'm looking at it.
Honestly, I think Garrett is about to get the squeeze on minutes if we do end up with both.
wouldn’t that be nice?!?

@Crimsonorblue22 I about had a heart attack myself. Lol
@jayballer73 If it makes you feel any better about all those wonderful recruits Calipari gets. He has the same amount of championships as KU and one more NIT appearance. He’s about as successful at buying a roster as the Yankees of late.
@Marco I think the point is he made $4 million last year in salary that he wouldn’t have made if he resigned. Miller won’t be catching on (and cashing in) somewhere else as a head coach anytime soon.
@drgnslayr Nice! His great (Great?) granddaughter was one of my wife’s bridesmaids. Still pretty gentle genetics. 😆
I don’t remember it happening here before, but I’ve been told every internet argument will ultimately reference Hitler. Lol we’re the real internet now!
Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1";[2][3] that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Adolf Hitler or his deeds, the point at which effectively the discussion or thread often ends.
@wissox I was a huge Big Hurt fan! Too bad he didn’t do well with the media at the time. He should’ve been a bigger star.
Lol. Everyone has a different take. ‘94 was the Braves year.
@Crimsonorblue22 Then disappeared in crimson and blue. 😒
There is an inexpensive neighbor hood right down the street with not a single shooting in the last 50 years that I’m aware of buddy! If you didn’t love it where you’re at you could move. Nothing wrong with being comfortable in your current spot. It just is pretty rough and no one wants to lose another friend! Thus the concern.
4th highest paid coach behind Calimari, Kchebehciiebshsski, and Barnes.
