Maybe the "Wow" factor is missing because of the offense. We don't make perimeter shots a high rate, passing is not a strength & our transition game is non-existent these days. You talking about individual play, not sure if anyone else noticed in the game can't remember who it was but individual play where we had THREE guys practically standing right next to one another watching this guy - -it was like ok man go get some do your thing. I've NEVER in my time of over 55 years of being a KU fan eve remember having three guys just stand and watch a player try and make a play.

I really appreciate all the responses guys thanks , and I appreciate it too. Like I said I'm not saying I'm right by any means , and several really good points brought up.

For sure really like the defense. Yes Dotson game against Dayton was ugly, however Devon's outside shot very easily could end up killing us , less then 30 % from the 3. We have all seen what happens when you put an elite defender against him. - -Baylor pretty well equalized him with the guy they had defend him.

I think one thing we have for sure going in our favor this year is that there just isn't any elite team. - Tonight is just another perfect example of this crazy season Villanova goes down again Purdue a team that was last in Scoring is in last place in the league - - Scores 104 points - - - scores 66 points in one half - - hits NINETEEN THREE POINTERS - - - NINETEEN ! ! ! and defeats a ranked Iowa team, Crazy , Crazy year. I appreciate the responses guys, I can't really put up a good defense for this - -I know I believe one reason throwing me off is I think it's called our Offensive ratio efficiency is down - - the tempo of our game is WAY down I guess why or part of it is we just don't get out and run like in years past that's what I'm missing faster tempo. Yet we are to shaky with our ball handling for that I guess.

I think part of why I'm not seeing the WOW is inconsistent 3 point shooting - - -shaky ball control - - not very good free throw shooting - -those things can add up to an early exit in March, guess I'm worried about those things

Guys I've been thinking the last couple of days , actually at different times this season. Now I hear some people here and there and I agree with them but I dunno , and I could be wrong and I'll readily admit chances are I am.

Don't get me wrong I love KU actually I've let my feelings/emotions probably go to far sometimes throughout my life - - especially when I was younger. At a younger age you just didn't say a single thing bad about the guys or we would have issues - - typical hot head to quick of temper, have been able to manage to temper that some lol.

Ok so anyways just have to ask - - WHAT am I missing about this group of guys ? -- I mean were good ,I know that not saying that at all BUT for some reason this team just does not WOW me. Where is the WOW in this team ? You know what I'm saying ? - This team does just not sit me back and say like DAM they crazy good -no flash. I mean you know - - where is that WOW factor at with this team ? - Someone tell me with this team just stuns you, makes you say - - we got this - -something that you just kinda of like OH YA - we good . - I just don't see it, not necessarily saying it has to be that way, but in years past we had that player that just kind of like at times you could go DAM - they just balled. - I dunno I know making a lot of nothing but just different. - If I were an opponent, this current KU team would not be a team that intimidated me, they just don't look or put out that kind of vibe where they can do that.

I mean cause look at it, sure we have beaten the teams we should of Beaten BUT what would you say has been our best win this year ? - - Every time we have been challenged by other teams closer to us - - we have got beat. Duke ,Villa Nova , Baylor -what's our quality tier one win this year? Would have to be West Virginia.

I could easily see us losing at West Virginia - - - Baylor - - - Texas Tech - hell never say never to K- State upsetting us at their pig pen with their extra added motovaition -probably not but a chance. - -Like I said I'm happy with the way the Season has gone but just not had the socks knocked off, a lot of inconsistences Will still say IF we don't win the NC, you watch it's going to be what's been our weakness all year - -our inconsistent 3 pt shooting & Free Throw shooting. - -just some pondering thoughts guys. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Definitely a positive step. We beat 10 P5 teams as of now, which is big. Need to step it up a notch in 21 but I like where we finished.

While we might not have had that one BIG TIME name stopper , the BIGH news is ALL FRESHMAN , guys that can come in an put in their 3-4 years and develop. Still some very solid players in this group.

Like another poster mentioned , from 4-10 class in the big twelve, there isn't really a huge gap between the talent - -4-10 pretty close, it's all a matter now of how the staff can develop these players. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

It was on this series Williams scored on the TD run. With them continuing to run regular plays , looks like you taking a risk of like Williams fumbling the ball or something like that San Fran get it back and still have a chance to score. - Take a knee

Bizarre, players now bite.

In the last two weeks we've seen a brawl, a player stepped on his chest, a low blow and now a biting incident.

That's what you call having a good team. - - A Good team , a soli team when they have off days , one of they're players have an off game - - the team STILL finds a way to pull together and win.

If you noticed every time Tech made a run - KU had an answer and would stretch it back out, ya they could of folded, but they didn't - - that's the sign of a good team, - - having an answer, good times find ways to win , even on off days One player is off - - others there to pick up the slack.

Was really impressed with the way Moss stepped up yesterday - the way McCormack played yesterday , Coach even commented on Dave, these are the types of things you need. Players that come step forward in Big time situations when others are off. You win as a team , You lose as a team. - - No ONE guy wins a Game by themselves , no ONE guy loses a Game by themselves. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

This weekend was just another perfect example to a wild and crazy basketball weekend.

There were EIGHT ranked to that got beaten by an UNRANKED team this weekend : # 8 , # 10 , # 11 , # 14 , # 16 , #21 , # 23 , #25 - - - -then you have # 13 Kentucky being beat by a lower ranked # 17 Auburn. -- Then you have the # 2 ranked Gonzaga team which I feel is for sure over ranked - about got their butts handed to them by an UN-Ranked San Francisco team.

Have a feeling where if you want to call it - -this would be the perfect season where you could very well see a lower seeded team making a serious run in the NCAA tourney -- just no dominant team

Little heads up about today. Don't be surprised to see Russell Tchewa for Texas Tech to get minutes today. He is a 7 footer 260 pounds that Tech is high on says offensively go a ways to go , but looking to add height to their rotation even possibly taking Holyfield out. The fans sure want to see more of him really like his energy , and the staff likes him also.

They loved the way he came in and played against Kentucky coming in and he only played 5 minutes BUT had 4 points and 5 rebounds in the 5 minutes and a block - you can almost bet they will use him to try and counter Doke - plays pretty good defense - did a pretty good job on Edwards, just a player to be aware of on Doke today.

Texas Tech also having issues. Tech player Joel Ntambwe 6'8 forward was denied his appeal for the 3rd time recently, Tech had been counting on him this year - -Thing is he is a transfer from UNLV averaged 11.8 and shot 38.8 from the 3 last year, - -you remember two days after Beard took the UNLV job he turned around and took the Tech job. - -well Ntambwwe wanted to transfer out and follow Beard to Tech. UNLV had 3 others transfer out and had no problem getting they're release was granted instantly.

Tech fully believes there is something really fishy here with them not granting Ntambwe his release. - Bad blood between UNLV & Tech & Beard - - that has to suck. - - Going to be a nice piece if he ever gets released. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

ya, we might see some of the two together. Yet don't really think it will be a matter of big minutes. - Came to the realization ,we just look so much better with this team 4-1. - -It just seems when Dave & Doke are in at the same time the whole offense is just clogged - -jerky - -inconsistent. Lots of turnover after the first year is fairly common. Staffs typically stabilize after year 3.

Almost time. Well everyone or just about anyways knows that I'm a life long Green Bay fan , I have no qualms about that either BUT I do also like KC. I'll root for them anytime other then or if they play Green Bay , and watch them anytime I can.

I think KC could be the next Generation of the New England Patriots , for sure. They are really young and MERCY the group these guys got - -just explosive, Hated Patrick in College - - love him now.

There is really a couple of things that even concern me just a little about this Super Bowl. That is I mean I feel good BUT I just sure hope that there aren't to many KC fans that think this games is wrapped up for KC. -I love our chances BUT

I'm concerned a little bit about San Francisco's run game. - -I know , but I don't want to hear well we shut down , dam can't think of the RB for the Ravens - can't think of his name right now - -I hate that when that happens lol - - don't talk to me about that - - - WHOLE different ball game, that's great - BUT just like San Fran trying to take KC offense out of the equation - - worried , ya you might stop ONE of these running backs BUT, they come at you with a three headed monster. You defensive scheme might work on one - -but not sure they going to eliminate all 3 backs shutting them down.

Then I worry some about San Fran's Defensive line, these guys are so quick. - - Bosa is a beast - they get a lot of pressure with NO blitz better hope to GOD the line can hold up.

It is been brought up and I agree off our local sports talk though. - - look at it this way. On the average a team will get 10 possessions per game right at that. If KC scores on even 50% - 5 times , that's 35 points , San Fran going to have to Score more then 35, and the Style of game they play - - I /we don't think they will do that. - Your going to have to out score KC - -I LIKE KC'S CHAMCES - - -GO CHIEFS - -LET'S DO THIS BABY

Something I was listening to today in Bracketology, and that is , for the people that just for some reason just want to bag On Scott Drew , saying he is just not a good Coach , talking about Baylor imploding. While I don't have some love fest for Drew , BUT I am a guy that will give some credit where Credit is due, While he may not be an elite Coach - -Scott is far from a bad Coach what he has done for that program speaks for it'self , what I found out today:

Before Drew arrived at Baylor , Baylor had exactly ONE NCAA tourney appearance in the last 50 years. - - Since Drew has been there they have went to the NCAA tourney 8 out of the last 12 years.

4 - - Sweet Sixteens during his time there - - -2 - -Elite Eights, I would say he has done quite well since he has been there. - - Universities just don't keep a Coach at a School for 17 years if he isn't doing good things or showing progress.

Tech gets out and pressures the perimeter and forces turnovers (Top 15 nationally) in turnover %, top 5 in non-steal turnover rate. They will try and limit post touches for Doke because that's their biggest weakness, zero size in the post unless they go to freshman.

ya, I think that is kind of high. - -Thinking more on the lines of like 7. Realize were at home but like you mentioned they pressure well , and as poorly as we entry fed the post example ( Oachi's attempt to feed Doke and the ball goes in for 2 lmao ) - he couldn't do that again if he tried in 100 times holy cow lol. We've been doing some better handling the ball but turnovers going to be key.

one thing is I think Jo , Jo is just coming back from a hand injury I believe or hasn't been back very long, noticed he has only played like 6 minutes so that for one might be part of the reason for Simmons , trying to work Jo , jo back in little bit at a time -not sure.

Boy Iowa St is really a - - - -BAD TEAM - - -A BAD , BAD , TEAM.

I am still not that impressed by Haliburton , UGLY shot - -I mean Ugly, I have yet to see him really take charge, just does not impress me , of course could be that Iowa State is soo bad , no matter how good Haliburton still makes it hard to see.

I don't know how many times Baylor just toyed with them - -Every time Iowa State score and you think - -just need a stop , Baylor right down the lane for a lay up or little 3-5 foot jumper or IF they miss ANOTHER offensive rebound Iowa state is just a mess

I have been checking daily , and even though several de-commits, I think we are still even as late as it is, I think we have really good shots at some that sound like they could be really solid players. True they not any 4 * mega studs - but I think they could develop into some really nice players in their 4 years here.

I also feel like the 2021 class could be very solid looking very promising but same story. Actual signing day is a long ways away even if the 2021 kids do verbal. Can be very frustrating. I HATE the N word. Now have to tell you some experiences I used to have.

When I used to live in Wichita and I would go play ball at the park, usually was like me and maybe one or two other white be there playing and the rest Blacks.

Always got a kick out of this we would all be playing and one black would be hot dogging and then like drive to the hole and another ol boy raise up and slap the hell out of and start talking all kinds of smack - things like get that S- - - out of here N - - - - - . sorry you have to fill in the blanks. They use to call one another that ALL DAY, as much as I hate the word was kind of funny listening to them talk their smack to one another. - The would call one another that al the time.

Now it was fine for them to do that , BUT let me tell you If you were a White or anyone else ummmm you better not be saying anything like that , you best be remembering where you at and who your with lol.

Baylor is at Hilton Tragic. They (ISU) tried hard to beat Auburn but came up short. Last two home games they have averaged 85 points. I highly doubt they can hang close to that on Baylor. Bolton is coming off 2 straight 20 point games, Halliburton is still not playing 100% I think. Hilton will need to bring the Magic for once this season.

All we need to do is win out in league play, including at Baylor. If we can do that we are guaranteed at least a share of the crown. There isn't a game on our schedule we can't win because our team this year can travel with defense. Anytime we bring defense we are a tough team to beat, regardless how our offense sputters.

If we focus on defense, and forcing turnovers, and then run out those turnovers, we won't lose. Give us 20 points a game off of turnovers and we will surely score enough points to win.

And I agree I've been saying this Baylor team is very legit , just SOLID complete team - really good guards - -good tough rebounders. Drew has him a team where they actually defend , they don't have to rely o that crappy zone that we use to just eat alive. Play pretty decent Defense.

People want to bag on Drew but like others have said and been pointed out. - - What he has done with that program since he has been there is a very long cry from where it was BEFORE he got there. Very easily see this team in the final four.

Actually, with Kobie, there's even a video called "never satisfied." It was something he was known for. Constant pursuit of perfection. I found this quote on Kobie without much difficulty from a Forbes article, "Throughout Kobe Bryant’s 20-year career in the NBA, he was known for his exhaustive work ethic and never being satisfied with his accomplishments despite achieving everything possible as a professional basketball player."

The highest of achievers are never satisfied. That's why folks that have started some of the largest companies don't just quit and retire on the millions. It's why some folks with talent don't make it. It's why some achieve greatness and some don't. But I sense that this doesn't resonate with you.
