@mayjay you maybe right to an extent but Young isn’t in the same galaxy as those 2 in terms of talent.

To be honest kinda disappointed in some of the negative stuff being said about Vick, was he forced out? Maybe. The point is we don’t know and probably never will, but people saying he has a attitude problem don’t really know. I got a friend that works up at KU (Name and rank won’t be disclosed lol) that said Vick is the quietist guy you could meet and is very similar to Perry Ellis in that regard. I never got why people were so hard on Perry for being himself.

@approxinfinity I think that’s a bad comparison, if I’m not mistaken Curry lost most of his supporting cast from the 08 EE team. I think they pretty just had him after that, I tell you this watching Curry in 08 and Trae last year not knowing what we know about Curry now I’d still take him over Young. Young’s team quit on him last year, I think that was obvious. I do think Young’s game is better suited for the NBA but he has to be more of a team player, ain’t no NBA team gonna let some rook come in and think they run the show.

I thought the call could’ve gone ether way personally, not having a dog in this fight I thought the refs were terrible last night and I probably won’t watch other game being called like that. People forget as @mayjay said you don’t have to be set for it to be a charge, you have to be in legal guarding position otherwise the bigger players could just plow their way to the hoop without risk of a charge call. I ask our office manager who has been an official in his spare time for 20 years and he agrees it could’ve gone ether way stating most block/charges are judgement calls like a ball/strike call.

I would happy to see Vick return, with the people left that we could add to the roster, he is easily the best option.

Marcus is great defensively but I wouldn’t want his attitude, flopping or terrible shooting on my team. Shooting 33% from the floor and 22% from 3, rather have a solid guy on defense that can do anything on offense, believe he missed 3 wide open layups yesterday.

@JayHawkFanToo besides they had better steals and less turnovers. You’d have a point if VanVleet or Baker were doing anything in the NBA, Shamet’s stats are only better in shooting, Rebounds are the same, assists are more, steals are more, blocks are more and turnovers are less for Fred. Being better in 3 of 8 stat columns doesn’t equal better seems how 5 is more than 3. Time will tell, I’ll get you some crow pie.

@JayHawkFanToo Wrong Fred averaged 13 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5 assists during at WSU. Baker averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Shamet averages 15 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists all while averaging less blocks and steals with more turnovers. Shamet basically was better in point average, not to mention Baker has averaged 15 minutes, 3 points in only 81 games played in his 2 year NBA career and probably is done when is contract is up or will be sent to the G league before that. VanVleet had a decent season averaging 20 minutes and 7 points this past year but I really don’t know comparing Shamet to these guys in which one wasn’t even drafted bodes well for him being great and sticking around the NBA, at least those of us with common sense that is.

@jayballer73 I think Shamet better hope he gets picked first round so he’s guaranteed a contract or he’ll another G league disappearing act, his numbers are average and is inconsistent shooting. He won’t be around long IMO.

It’s all about viewship, these past few games between us have been great. @wissox Bill Self is 5-3 I believe vs UK as our coach. We played them too much when they were great and little when we were.

@dylans 100% agree, I love how people say the risk of playing in the nfl isn’t worth it. Give me one of those big contracts, I’ll play no question.

@jayballer73 last I saw Baylor was up 10-1 up gave 6 runs in the first 3 innings, was pretty pathetic to be honest but it’s double elimination atleast.

I would be shocked if anyone got punished from these probes especially if Coach K is involved. The NCAA is about making money, they aint gonna post season ban half the top schools that make them that money. They'll prob make new rules as they should and just forgive the previous infractions.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I think Schneider should be given at least one more season with the class he has coming it, people forget the teams best player was injured in the preseason and he has shown improvement each year. Ritch Price is a great guy and it’s hard to recruit kids for a warm weather sport to Kansas but he doesn't have a ton to show for his time here. The same could be said for Megan Smith the softball coach, dead last in B12 this year and that flatout can’t happen. I’d be shocked if any moves are made right away outside of football if Beaty struggles early (which is almost a given to this point). If Curry becomes the athletic director, which I high doubt happens I’ll have to think before I come to any games. Never, ever had anyone that I’ve seen had a even remote positive assessment of him.

@jaybate-1-0 I’m almost 6’2 and I’ve met both Frank and Sherron and I’d say Frank is taller.

I think coach Self is as clean as any other coach in America, probably cleaner than several other top coaches. Some KSU guys have tried giving me jazz about BP or SD but I’m always quick to point out that Self has always sat players that came into question. Wasn’t it Terrance Jones for UK that had a questionable car situation as well that took a month to figure out that his grandma supposedly bought him the car and how Coach K didn’t sit Carter after his name was listed in multiple reports. I personally think every player gets a little something and the NCAA simply doesn’t care if you cover your tracks good enough. I know guys that played at the NAIA and Juco level that claimed guys got paid or cars. I read an article a couple years back (tried finding it but couldn’t) where a D1 assistant coach was interviewed, remaining anonymous, claimed that there was no such thing as a free recruit in D1 basketball. @wissox people hate us because they ain’t us my friend. They hope all the top programs are cheating so they look better and have an excuse to not be great.

Sherron Collins was pretty salty, listed as 5’11.

I see no way the big 12 survives after the current media contract is up without adding teams. A good number of people think OU and Texas are headed to the SEC. I think adding 2or 4 teams would be smart, to be honest i thought it was stupid to add wv, they have a tiny media market and give nothing academically. I’d add Cincinnati, Houston, Memphis and a smaller school like Tulane or Southern Miss.

@jaybate-1.0 Dook just signed their 5th five star player, plenty of east coast teams mentioned in this investigation getting talent.

He’ll be a key guy next season, bet all of those stats improve. He could drive the ball fairly well this season.

Kansas has been known as a basketball school for quite sometime now. Fresh off a 14th straight conference title and a trip to the final four. But I’m kinda tired of being crappy at most other sports. The softball sits at 0-15 in big 12 play and hasnt made the NCAA tournament since 2014, the women’s golf team finished dog last at the conference tournament, the women’s basketball team has shown slight improvement but been terrible for several years. The women’s soccer team finished in the bottom half of the conference standings. The baseball finally ended 11 game losing streak yesterday (how Ritch still has a job is mind blogging), the football teams struggles having become a national laughing stock. I’m just wondering when we can be better across the board. I realize most schools aren’t great to multiple sports and we have a good track program, men’s golf and women’s tennis team but I want more.

Missouri is such a shit hole.

@justanotherfan Sadly I’d take Terry Allen over our current and last 2 coaches without Hesitation. I love Beaty’s loading up on Jucos and saying we are still 3 years or more from getting full scholarship numbers. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out he probably just cost us a year or 2 in that area. I predicting a 0-12 season and Beaty to be regarded as the worst D1 coach in history. It’s pretty evident to me at this point that Beaty ether has no idea how to build anything or he is the stupidest man on this earth. @mayjay @JayHawkFanToo is a WSU fan,The link I posted said WSU backed off and a creditable Shocker alum that’s in tight with boosters told me WSU wanted no part of it for atleast 2 years. It’s just hilarious to me about how much he bitched about not playing the other schools in the state, then runs from them. There’s a word or two for that ChickenShit and it’s not even debatable.

Well Marsha has been proven to be full of crap yet again. WSU has declined to play against KSU next season in basketball. I gotta pretty good laugh outta it after all the crap he talked about both us and KSU not playing them. Even tho they ended the series we had with them when Roy was here because we wanted a 2 for 1 home and home to avoid spanking them in a roach infested Koch Arena. If I was Self, I’d call and offer to play them and when they decline, publicly say Marsha didn’t the guts to play us. This is why early season baseball is such a joke, watch highlights and most the stadiums are 30% full. It doesn’t take 160 games to figure out who should be in the playoffs. Thank god some hawks are still in the NBA playoffs so I have something to watch.

Was great to see this happen, figured he’d go 3rd or 4th round. TE Ben Johnson signed a undrafted free agent deal with San Diego, sadly I felt we never used Ben to his capabilities. Sad to see some of the talent we have not add up to more wins or even competitive games, prob 3 or 4 guys on this years defense that have a good shot at going pro and a few on offense.

I don’t wanna be preseason number 1, seldom does that team win anything in March. What happens with Doke with play a big hand IMO on how good we can be, the high low with him and Dedric could be pretty salty. Experience is what really worries me a bit, I know the Lawson boys and Moore have some D1 experience but they’ve never played in the NCAA tournament. You also never know how freshman will play at this level regardless of the number by their name. @KUSTEVE I really hope this team can guard, I have been unimpressed with our defense or lack of the last 4 or 5 seasons.

Philly gets a good road win to push to a 3-1 lead. I actually enjoyed watching as I usually do when Philly is playing. Joel had a tough game with 8 turnovers (team had 25) but still managed a double double and some huge blocks in the forth. I was impressed with Wade, dudes well past his prime but still lead his team in scoring and dam near pulled it out for them. JJ Redick is one of the former hated dookies on Philly, but I don’t hes in the same category as Allen and CL, I don’t remember him being anywhere near as dirty.

I actually think this could be a good thing for Dokes improvement. I think there is a good chance he returns, that being said I have no problem with him leaving because it seems obvious that he wants to help his mom stay outta the trouble thats going on in Nigeria. Just hoping he can do what’s best for both him and her.

I like the idea of getting some new stuff built to help recruiting, I think the new locker rooms have helped us get some of the guys we currently have. I like that Beaty has finally accepted that the air raid just isn’t going to work right now and has put more of an emphasis on the ground game. Some of here have criticized this say we’ll get beat by 25 instead of 40 but I think it can give us a chance to actually be in more games late, to win you’re gonna have to be part of the game after half time. I think our most explosive player on offense maybe Herbert, so why not try and get him more touches. So many times the last 3 years we have ran 3 plays and punted in 25 seconds. That can’t happen as often as it does and expect the defense to compete the whole game that way. I honestly am excited about how good our defense can be this season. Beaty’s job is no question on the line this season to put it nicely. He must win a minimum of 4 games and KO the longest road losing streak in recorded history week 2 vs central Michigan. I personally don’t think it will be hard to find a better coach, seriously? 1 win vs FBS, you could make the argument today that Beaty is the worst head coach in not only KU history but in collegiate history. I don’t know how anyone could do worse.

Goodness, you know if the boys have his type of attitude, show'em the door today. Why wait? I'd say I have a better chance of winning the lotto than them going back, they'd have to sit another year. A lot of people said these guys were trouble when we took them, run your mouth and get left high and dry we don't need guys like this.

KSU will be preseason top 20 and probably be a top 3 B12 team if Brown stays. It will be interesting to see if they get Bruce’s usual transfer quota to free up some roster spots and if it’s just guys that didn’t play much this year.

I’m trying to get into this season, haven’t really tried in several years. But seems how spring has decided it’s gonna wait, I’m watching while stuck inside. I’m hoping to see a 76ers vs Thunder finals, doubtful but you never know.

@BShark I’m sure Nike is just as guilty, I’m sure they will get away with it having Coach K like they always do.

I’m fairly worried at this point that the 2018 season could easily be vacated, at least the wins that Silvio played in. Interesting enough a source I trusted today told me before this news broke that KU maybe headed away from Adidas very very soon. I would be shocked at this point if stuff isn’t vacated, hopefully they have stuff on some Nike schools like Dook or we could be headed down real quick.

@Buster-1926 Self has underperformed in the tournament several times with talent, he himself has even eluded to it as @BShark said. One could say 04,05,07,10,11,13,16 and 17 all were years where the talent to not only get to the FF but play for a championship. We are Kansas we have had the talent to atleast get to the FF I’d say 10 or 11 years of Selfs 15 year tenure, that being said I realize it’s damn tough to make the FF and every coach has had talented teams miss out.

These years worry me, everyone's already talking about greatness and whatnot. Let's see how these guys play and play together next season before we claim the title. 2014 with Wigs and Joel come to mind with this talk and Self has under preformed with his most talented teams IMO.

Interesting that Vick has said that he wont hire an agent, wonder if he would try to be a grad transfer elsewhere. don't know why a guy wouldn't hire one otherwise, having a good agent could help you go over seas aswell.
