Sending townsy up there isn’t normal and you all can just rag on me versus addressing it that’s cool

Elmarko is 100% a top tier athlete assuming he fully recovers and didn’t lose explosion

He’s shown terrible in game awareness and can’t shoot so I’m struggling to grasp why we are so high on him.

The PG spot is where we should be hammering the portal…..1, 3 and 4 spots will be wide open

If Self doesn’t attempt to bring in a dog and thinks Elmarko and diggy are enough….he’ll just continue to prove he can’t evaluate and build a good roster for 3 straight years

@TYOHawk Don’t forget this is the pg coach says he wouldn’t trade for any other guard in America and he’s just a winner!

It’s trash and oh yeah diggy will start at pg as I’ve said all along (because Bill will like how he knows the system, practices hard and shows better in practice than any new guy) - Bill’s done both mentally and when it comes to identifying talent/elevating it

@TYOHawk In recruiting you are viewing that wrong…it signifies that even though he’s committed they are nervous and showing up to make sure he doesn’t flip elsewhere

Flying out for a Friday night senior night is a nice gesture but also telling/concerning

When guys commit you don’t cease contact but going out there still after a commitment doesn’t bode well

Wouldn’t surprise me if he decommits. Just like Josh Jackson - he will have DP throwing it inside and trying to play inside-out

Next year will be a nice 3/4 finish in the big 12 and sweet 16 ceiling

Had Bill evaluated his current roster better he could have had both Philon and Griffin

Our old era; proceed to throw it down low to Hunter where he’s heavily guarded - it is heavily physical (less likely to call fouls late in game) and he misses two bunnies but they were heavily contested

Look guarded 2 from 2 feet is missed by Hunter

Also - your thoughts on Dusty May he’s currently my first choice over Oats

May doesn’t have the budget but his eye for talent and building his team then elevating them is next to none. Oats has the budget and athletes but struggles defensively (your side of the ball so know you like me writing that lol)!

May is playing two 7 footers and winning without their stud Johnell Davis

Compare that with Arkansas where he’s struggling after dominating at FAU and in the tourney. This shows me Cal just like Self don’t have it anymore. They can’t elevate their talent and they are struggling to coach big time with their old methodologies

Self won’t retire this year but man I sure wish he would. He’ll let DP play all the time but our offense will still be the same bs throwing it inside and playing the wrong guys who don’t provide spacing

@TYOHawk Honestly he’s just embarrassing himself, racking up atrocious losses while still acting like his favorites are legit and not the issue. He’s so out of touch with the game and it’s making him look bad but it’s his own arrogance

He had the number 1 nil, got exactly who he wanted from the portal and claimed “you’ll love this roster back in what October/November” - and then he mentally ruined two of the new guys he brought in to were supposed to be big contributors

@drgnslayr I think you mentioning two players as national title winners but not understanding 1 played maybe what 3-4 minutes all tournament and the others minutes were cut in half from the regular season -

Brings you to the conclusion that the roster is good enough when it isn’t even remotely close

Bill on the other hand can’t maximize his talent unless he’s had them here for 4 years to play “his way”

When DP starts every game feeding the post it is yet again Bill not even grasping how basketball works today. He still thinks you gotta throw it inside to open up the 3

@drgnslayr Hunt in the post missed bunnies and is often double teamed due to the defense not respecting any of our other players besides Mayo to hit a 3

@bskeet Some talent yes, say top 25 and sweet 16 max - yeah

But in reality it’s horribly skilled players and no one respects d2 on the squad especially the new guys. They hear all this talk of how great he is then watch him get his lunch eaten nightly…..throw that in with worthless Hunter and kj who can clap his hands real hard for dunks but when it comes to late game free throws blockouts he forgets to actually go rebound the ball
