Not sure about this premise who would we keep? We're obligated to keep players aren't we? Self just can't yank a scholarship from Elmarko because he's been a disappointment, right?
If it were something that we could decide whom to keep, would keep all of them. First half of the season muy bueno, 2nd half, mainly tied into injuries, no bueno. Still not our greatest team ever at full strength, but I'd be looking to add a piece so overwhelmed guys like Braun, Timberlake aren't needed except for spare moments.

Connor Essegian has been rumored to be possibly headed to the portal. He was absolutely deadly from 3 his freshman year at UW and then slumped late and mysteriously played infrequently this year and his shot nose dived with it. He still averaged almost 12 per game as a freshman. If he refinds his stroke he's another Jeff Boschee type.
UW also has a guy who didn't play this year. Sounds bad right at the outset when I say this, but Gus Yalden was suspended for a pot misdemeanor arrest and an underage drinking thing right before the season. He came in as a very intriguing 4 star with a Larry Bird like skill set. I'm not saying he's the next Bird! His reason for not playing at all is mysterious. Might he enter the portal? Maybe? Mums the word. He's been suited up and enthusiastic on the bench all season. Don't know what to think but these are two guys that intrigue me.
I know Badger players don't excite fans of blue bloods and I understand that but there's some real potential with both these dudes.
Well I was spared watching the 1st half. Recorded game, accidentally saw the halftime score. Fast forwarded, got a little excited, but pfffffffttttt!! Oh well. Not a surprising result to be honest. I hope the chat wasn't too harsh. I hope the team knows some good doctors to get Hunt and Kev healthy by next Thursday/Friday! That's our only hope for winning a few more games.
The conference streak ended a few years back and it was a bit tough to take. But when the day comes that the season ends this week, then the realities of what almost every program goes through will really hit hard.

@BeddieKU23 I was in the UC the night this happened. Bulls had a decent season going until this play knocked Caruso out for 2 months. One of many, but that one was the most personal to me because I was there.

Seems strange but the officials helped them to their huge advantage. Not 20 points worth of course, but a missed call on a Furphy 3, heck even on KJ's buzzer beater attempt, and quite a few others might mean we're still within shouting distance.

Surprised it hasn't started.
The interesting part of tournament seeding is we look at our record with 8 losses and say things like there's no way we can be a #2,3,4 seed or whatever with 8 losses. Look at our bad losses, etc. So you then look at the teams who might be considered for a similar seed and that's whom we have to compare to. Then there's a discussion and we'd argue we're better than that other team slotting in ahead of us or with us. In other words how do we compare to the other 8 loss teams in the rankings? Creighton, Baylor, Kentucky are the only others. Marquette, Illinois, Auburn, Washington St, SD State are those teams. Marquette waxed us of course, I'd put them above us in that list, but not sure who else? Baylor arguably yes. Auburn is a joke with 1 quad 1 win, yet Bruce Pearl seems to get great benefits in rankings most years. I know nothing of Creighton, Washington St, SD State.
In other words I'd say we're a pretty solid lock on the 3 line and I'm fine with that.
@AsadZ It's part of a running joke around here with "Kansas City White Sox" being the general punch line. Rich Getz, Pedro Grifol, Nicky Lopez, now Brad Keller, I forget whom else, but rebuilding the team with KC discards doesn't seem to be the best plan for future success! (no offense Royals fans!)
