My physical therapist (small shoulder injury) is an OU fan, she claims KU gets all the calls at home. I said that’s the home whistle that any team gets with a good crowd. - that was Friday. She cancelled our Wednesday appointment, I’m curious why. lol

The funny thing is Hunter is getting fouled less (officially) and going to the line far less at Kansas than he was at Michigan. And BIG fans complain all the time about how the refs let too much go in that league which hurts them in the tournament where refs then start calling more fouls.

If we can get our guys healthy, then I could like our chances to at least make it out of the first weekend.

Well, this makes more sense lol. Plans to play 6 more years and says he will just reach out to Self directly when it's time.

Not saying this about anyone here but I think, caught up in the Bill Self era that a large number of fans definitely take it for granted.

KU is having "KU problems" this year. So..not a dominant team. Still merely top 20 on kenpom. All while missing the projected preseason starter at the 2.

Most programs have a true down year here and there. Calipari has missed the tournament at Kentucky, Coach K missed once at Duke, UNC has rough patches etc... Even strong resources don't guarantee success, you also need a great coach. At some point in the future when we are far past the Self era KU will have a true rough patch, and Self will be remembered even more fondly.

On twitter again talking about how he wants to be an assistant coach at Kansas. Kinda weird, like he should approach Bill if that's what he wants.

But anyway, I think it would actually be a good idea for him to have a sit down with Elmarko, if that could be arranged. Just kind of thinking outloud here.

I was reading an old LJW article from 2008 and found this in it

"Self consults Case: Self believes Jeremy Case will be a great coach someday. Self has helped prepare him, seeking Case’s input during a stoppage of play in the Davidson game.

“I asked him the other day against Davidson during a timeout, ‘Hey, Jeremy, what do you think?’ Of course it (reply) was, ‘Uh, uh,”’ Self joked. “Actually, he said, ‘Coach we’re fine.’ I do trust to ask Jeremy what’s going on. He does have a different insight.”

Case admits he was a bit surprised Self turned to him during the timeout.

“He looked at me, ‘Jeremy what do you think?’ I said, ‘We’re OK,”’ Case said. “He wanted my insight. I thought we were going to be OK.”

As far as where Case will coach next year, Case said: “I’ll wait until after the season and see what my options are, what happens.”"

Pretty cool, and neat that we have come full circle on it now with him being back at KU.

I watch a lot of BIG ball of course and I'm just shocked to turn on a game and see them struggling like they are right now with a team like Minnesota. Izzo has had some well publicized confrontations with kids who are increasingly getting under his skin and dissing him. He's 68 years old, hanging on longer than most of his peers, but I suppose the thirst to win another ring keeps him pressing on.

He is sounding like a coach that is about to retire. Just the way he is talking in press conferences he sounds exhausted and over it. I said the same thing about Saban in September.

I think part of it is he still has a really lengthy shot process, so he truly does need to be wide open or it will get swatted. I wish he would shoot more as well though.

It's an undeniable statistical fact that he has regressed this year. The huge stylistic shift and heavy minute load could be a factor. I would love to see more of what we saw against OSU, 31 minutes a game. That would let him be able to play with more energy when he is in the game. 40 minutes a game Juan conserving energy has not been great.

Good game all things considered. Only two turnovers. Hunter and Kevin both playing hurt. KJ played 40 minutes so he was a bit gassed at times which showed when he missed a dunk (only 5-14 from the field overall). TOUGHNESS WAS SHOWN.

I’ve been trying to figure out what Elmarko brings to the table. I’m not sure what his strengths are. Ball handling? Defense is average. Can’t shoot. Doesn’t drive. Court vision? He is quick.

Big issue is he plays the same position as Dajuan and pairing them is a total nightmare because it puts three non-shooters into your line-up.

These days they are literally just reposting paywalled articles from 247 and on3. The guy reposting Swain's stuff got called out on it and he changed his username on 247 (was literally his actual name before). Swain still knows it's him though, funny.

I like the move a lot. The main 4 flow better with him. I also hope that Elmarko mainly just spills Juan now. We can't keep playing Juan 40 a night.

All conference wins are good. Just look at the chaos today...

Spags did a great job with pressure in the second half.

Butker had a miss last couple of games otherwise he is having a phenomenal year.

Right, just wanted to mention that as why the starters play more than ideally we would want. It's necessary to win.

I mentioned it earlier but the segment of the game where Bill went bench heavy was a complete disaster. It really needs to be two bench guys in at the same time as the maximum.
