@HawkChamp Knight might have been a jerk and didn't do his homework about players when working the games as a commentator, but he did understand the game and saw the little things live that most of us miss.

@justanotherfan Good thoughts, thanks! On the other hand throwing up shot after shot didn't work except to make Bell look like Ewing. A pull-up jumper might have been a good choice also. I realize we are analyzing months after the game (hindsight...). I know everyone here was as frustrated as I was seeing the team play so poorly.

@justanotherfan I haven't re-watched the game but normally when a player comes off his man for the block he leaves his man (LL in this case) wide open for the dunk. Why weren't our guards feeding him instead of forcing the shot?

@approxinfinity The other side of the coin is that we live in a soundbite society now where no one checks out the truth behind the statements. Carver & Stephanopolis were the first to my knowledge to take great advantage of this for Bill Clinton. That is a deep rabbit hole, I won't go there.

My point is that the American people are as much to blame for the mess, by not caring enough to get a little more information on a subject than the "soundbite".

I get that. Your description sounded like JJ to me especially the passing and being able to go in out equally well. Even his outside shooting was pretty good the last half of the year. If Preston can be close to him KU can again be really tough with even more options.

@RockChalkinTexas Nope. I did say up and coming teams. Now for teams who are usually in contention (Top 25) it is more of a knock I think.
There was a time that most here wouldn't remember when the NIT was a very big deal. Because only the conference champion went on to the NCAA tourney. KU lost in the finals in 1968 (i think) to Dayton when Jo Jo was playing.

@jayballer54 I believe the phrase is "Down goes Frazier...Down goes Frazier" quote was from the late Howard Cosell at the George Foreman - Joe Frazier fight. Frazier was undefeated champion and had just beaten Ali.

@justanotherfan I believe it is great for teams in building mode. If my memory is correct (jury is out on that one) Baylor won the NIT one year and went Elite Eight the next and has been a strong contender since that time.

@drgnslayr IMO, Bragg did not seem to handle the added weight very well. He seemed to lose quickness and hop. This is not meant to be a shot at Hudy, her successes are many.
It could be just the off court issues too!
I would love to see him bounce back in a big way.

I would like to see us press a little to push pace and take them away from there half court offense.

@ralster Since Texas has no true point, I would like to see us press a little say after made free throws 4 or 5 times in the game to shake them up and maybe get a turnover or 2. But not so much to wear out our guys.

@REHawk Good point. Short free throws are almost always because of not using their legs. I just wish josh would follow through, he does quick flip.

Svi doesn't make sense to me at all.

KU would be better with Doke, no question. LL would have been starting by now anyway though.

@BeddieKU23 Doke is a better blocker, but Lucas is a better defender otherwise (positioning help defense etc...).
