@Jayballer54 How does missing free throws over and over help your confidence??
@jaybate-1.0 The WV defense takes on the mantra of "no blood no foul"... oh, sorry that one is true!
@Kubie Good luck to him.
@BShark I would have liked to have seen Sam get a few minutes against Baylor. I love how well Garrett plays defense and hustles, but he is becoming a liability on offense as teams no longer respect his shot (he seems to have no confidence in it either.
@SlickRockJayhawk I don't see that happening. 2 Bigs for a percentage of the game yes. I do think Mitch playing as a secondary big with Doke or Silvio / Billy would fit much better with his skills. Three bigs takes some of our better players off the floor.
@Jayballer54 Combo, keep someone fresh and double some to make him give up the ball.
@mayjay yes it is!
@wissox Your post reminded of the story about Larry LaPrise, the writer of the "Hokey Pokey". The story goes that when Larry died they had a difficult time getting him to stay in the coffin... it seems he kept putting his right foot in, he put his right foot out, he put right foot in and he would shake it all about...
Enjoy your day!
@Crimsonorblue22 sad
@jaybate-1.0 I think Sam will get more opportunities. WV is a bad match up for a guy Self doesn't have trust in yet. Silvio got minutes with Doke in foul trouble and he wasn't being asked to help break the press. Apples & Oranges I think.
I became a Celtic fan back in the day just because of JoJo
@Bosthawk The "way too simple" explanation is the lack of the depth to be able to go as hard as you need to on D. I also think that Svi and some of the others have always considered themselves as offensive players and it is a foreign mindset to really grind on the defensive end. Hopefully the team has seen the benefit of grinding out stops, I know Bill loves that kind of game over the "prettier - shooting the lights out" games like Texas this year.
@stoptheflop IMO WV has never been a particularly good offensive team. The ball sticks as each player jabs and fakes. Their offense has always been tied to turnovers and scoring against teams before the defense is set.
@jaybate-1.0 I saw some promising signs from Malik. He still has a way to go, but I thought his defense was much better and he wanted the ball in the last minute when WV had to foul.
@mayjay At the end of the day they are still in paradise.
@JayHawkFanToo Who would trade for Gordon and his contract??
@Jayballer54 It seems like they always played with a 6'7" center and still whipped us back then.
@wrwlumpy I look forward to this every game, Thanks!
@nuleafjhawk Depends on what kind, we lost a niece at 14, she died within a year of diagnosis.
@BeddieKU23 Just sad for anyone, especially young people.
@BeddieKU23 Vick performance = flu maybe??
@cragarhawk I thought we should have been in a zone to keep Doke on the floor.
@HighEliteMajor I agree, I really don't think they can afford either without setting back the rebuild a few years.
@HighEliteMajor The problem with Moose is the injuries. Hos plays everyday.
@Crimsonorblue22 Was Vick sick or something? I have never seen him with so little energy. He is suppose to be our slasher, no evidence of that in this game.
@dylans I think in some Bible version it says He and the disciples were in "One Accord".
@JayHawkFanToo They used to be the Indians but they were a PC casualty.
@JayHawkFanToo I used to have that sign too!
@AsadZ Don't believe either side, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Saying only the rich own companies is beyond stupid.
@jayballer54 Wilt, Danny, Paul, JoJo, Frank with Nick, Mario, Clyde & Brandon (or Maybe Kellogg for 30 point Saturdays)
@dylans I wondered about DG in the middle a few plays to get him going. Garret seemed to panic when he was in the middle (freshmen jitters).
@nuleafjhawk I actually thought Vick started driving a step to far to where he took a guarded shot instead of the open one. I know he was trying to draw the man out for the lob,but that was defended better by Washington in the second half with rotation. To me if he was going to drive he needed to go all the way to the rim. He still played well but he could have had a huge game.
I agree with others the standing around and the ball sticking was a problem. To beat the zone you have to move the zone. I wish Doke and Mitch would play Defensive positioning the way Clay does. He may not be big enough but he is almost always in the right place.
@jayballer54 The game felt eerily like the chiefs great undefeated start and then they look like a lost team. Not that 1 game is the same, but it had that feel to me.
@jaybate-1.0 I was amazed Cuse did not pound it inside when Clay was in. He did a great job on both ends but they really didn't test him too much. Cuse did hurt us when they came back a little by driving it. If I were Self I would concentrate our defense on that when the big guy is out particularly.
@wrwlumpy good catch with Frank Baum
@dylans I believe it was in the the tourney 2008 Sweet 16.
@wrwlumpy Good movie
@jaybate-1.0 Sounds great! I love history.
@BeddieKU23 It is sad all the way around.
@wrwlumpy George and Gracie were great.
@JayHawkFanToo DON'T FORGET PERRY
@BShark Wasn't Lightfoot POY in Arizona?
@wrwlumpy Thanks Lumpy, I always look forward to what you come up with and learn a few things as well.
@Fightsongwriter I was thinking JoJo only played 1st semester of his senior yr.
@wrwlumpy Harvey...oops!
@Red.Rooster Best news of all, be blessed.
@wrwlumpy I always look forward to what you come up with. Awesome job!
@jayballer54 Markieff?
@jaybate-1.0 Whether Billy starts or not, I imagine he and Doke will be on the floor together about 15 minutes a game with Lightfoot getting a few minutes subbing for each and the rest with 4 guards.
@wissox What is baseball???
Just kidding, Houston would be a better story.
